No one here wants to ignore Mako on purpose, but both Yuukis (none of which are named Yui) are a bit preoccupied with each other in these initial moments. While Manabu stutters over sounds and aborted remarks his brain didn't even have fully formed before they were out, Kanna bustles over with more intensity than fear. That's her baby in that weird portal, after all.

"Manabu! What is this? How are you doing this? An--" She recoils a little in horror. "Your eye -- Manabu, what happened?!"

"I-it's okay! It's okay, it--"

"Who did this to you? Did--" She finally seems to notice Mako looming behind her boy and her hackles raise. "Who are you! What did you do to my son?!"
