Manabu's far from bothered - in fact, it makes him happy to share the nice things from his home, that universe where things made more sense, even in their trials and troubles.

"What for a second without blinking," he advises, pointing out the window. "You see it? There's a kind of yellowy flickering now and then, right? That's a magnetic barrier that goes around the entire track - almost like a tube or a pipe. There's ringed gates built to connect that piping so there's always pretty good protection from this kind of stuff. When it's not enough, that's when Big One or the other SDF trains get sent out to support.

"There's parts of the galaxy where asteroid fields are tracked, but sometimes a rogue comet will hit a moon, or some manmade activity sends something sailing through space...that's what we can help with. Those turrets do the job."
