There was no doubt about this: Luna was scary corrupted, because her power was far stronger than any that she knew of in Trench. She had hoped she might be able to sketch a glyph to at least wear her down, but it was as if Luna had her own bile sac: she didn't need to draw glyphs when she had a wand.

Then Luna got cold: she could see it in her eyes, and Luz knew she had mere seconds to prepare, because something was going to happen that she knew she had to be ready for.

It was all she could do to erect a forcefield, and even then, it wasn't strong enough to withstand what was coming at her completely. It blocked the curse but hurled Luz through the street, hitting the pavement hard.
