[ He says it in acknowledgement. He says it so that Obi-Wan doesn't have to. In Anakin's Order, whenever a Jedi dies, they hold a service and grieve together. There's varying levels of closeness in the Order, like any other group, but they're a community. A family.

Obi-Wan doesn't have that. Not the family he knows, at least. ]
