Not all things must be practical. The colours of flowers are not, and yet they'd lose so much of their beauty if they were simply green.

[Iskandar is a great proponent of enjoying life's many pleasures. The hard times will come anyway, so it is wasteful not to enjoy what can be enjoyed in the moment.]

A gift is an expression of intention. It needs not to be practical. It may, but more important is that it reflects the thought and care that went to it. That it is tailored to the person of the gifted, their tastes and likes. If it does, it means more than mere practicality.

[Trust him, he's an expert on that.]
