Snacks, Refreshments, + First Aid!

Oscar had made it a point to not participate in this tournament. This was Ozpin's and Ozpin's alone-- he planned to respect that.

However, his dedication to neutrality didn't mean he was exempt from helping. Upon realizing how many people he knew were involved, Oscar knew what he needed to do. Thus:

There was a table set up at the venue with sundry amounts of cooling refreshments, cut fruit, and light snacks. If it was of possible use to athletes, he's probably tried to make something similar to it in the kitchen. The said, his own preference for sweets was obvious in the amount of citrus, berries, and cut melons he offered.

Additionally, he kept a supply of ice packs, bandages, and wound cleansing solutions on hand for simple bumps and scrapes. He was no healer, but he still wanted to keep supplies on hand for the people more skilled than he was.

Sharon is around to cheer people on and doesn't cheer just for Johnny's team, either. She encourages brutality and can be heard shouting things like come on, I know you can hit harder than that and smash them and even my mom could take that but her statements are never truly serious or angry and most are shouted with a bright grin. There's a lot of whistling and clapping from her, too, and she doesn't have a problem getting loud.

When there are close calls, she gasps. When something occurs she disagrees with, she shouts bullshit. And when Tinya's fight starts, she gets really loud, cheering the other girl on with more fervor than she had in any of the other fights.

During interludes, Sharon will check in on fighters and offer a you were fucking awesome no matter who won or who they're fighting under, often with accompanied gushing over a move that impressed her. She'll even offer to get a healer or refreshments for combatants if they seem particularly beaten down.

[sansa has red and white ribbons tied around her wrists and in her hair in support of sasuke, and lady has some tied to her collar too. there are more of them in her satchel, if anyone would like some. sansa (and lady) are otherwise dressed in a fashionable dark grey with wolves and ravens embroidered over the shoulder and down the sleeves. She has a wide leather belt with an elaborate chatelaine, notably with a small bottle of vileblood attached, so she can tailor the padding she's been quilting to individual fighters if need be.

she will walk around and make friendly small talk before the fighting begins, giving johnny lawrence as wide a berth as possible. otherwise she will find a nice spot in the bleachers(??) next to allen walker and somewhere in the vicinity of sakura to quilt padding, because a toruney without jousting is frankly a waste of her time.]

Sayo

[After her match with Jessica, Sayo is in... not necessarily bad shape, and definitely not enough to need first aid after her sprain is healed, but she's dinged up enough that she lingers near the first aid tent regardless, just in case. Most of her injures are on her arms from her feeble attempts to parry Jessica's powerful blows, but there's a bruise on her torso that she's sure she's going to feel next morning and a cut on her forehead from a punch that was just barely a graze.

(Sure, Sayo could get these minor wounds healed with no problem. But she was waiting for a special someone.)

Despite how badly she lost at a 1-3 record, Sayo feels oddly at peace. It was done. Finally over. They could both move on, something that they both needed badly, especially with Sayo's new... entanglement. Her inner tranquility may be difficult to spot, though, considering that she's munching on popcorn—inexplicably seasoned with konpeito—and squinting at the matches, occasionally yelling something like,]

Oh come on, she was wide open! [and then grumbling to herself.]

[ Ange so wasn't planning on coming to this tournament. It's just about the furthest thing from anything Ange actually enjoys, but.. you know. Sometimes your girl decides on participating, and you've got no choice but to come, just because you can't bear to not support her.

Hence why Ange is here and present, even though she doesn't exactly look excited. She doesn't even need to wear an 'I really wish I wasn't here right now' novelty button, it's written all over her face. ]

[ In fact, anyone who ends up standing or sitting near her at any part during the tournament might be greeted with a deadpan: ]

I thought the whole point of humans evolving past being cavemen is that we no longer had the need to constantly beat each other's heads in. [ And yet here they are. ]

[ Or maybe there's a certain Ruby Rose getting ready for her fight, which is just about the only moment Ange seems to become active. Anyone near her might find themselves nudged. ]

[ Thankfully - for Ange, at least - it seems like she won't have to sit through having to watch a whole lot of matches. Sure, the rest of the tournament is still going on, but what's the use of paying attention to a match that doesn't have her fiancee in it?

Clearly nothing. Or close to it, anyway.

It's why Ange immediately focuses on Ruby when the other's match is over, moving through the crowd towards the other girl as quickly as possible. ]

Alice is getting around the major inconvenience of her recent transformation by bellowing HEY, I'M ALICE periodically so everyone knows that she is Alice and not some other hairy land squid in a big ribbony dress. The ouch part's done with and she wants to attend this cool fight play and has been very excited about it, after all. There's no visible facial features here but her body language is incredibly hype.

She's recording the matches on Omni with varying levels of interest and respect depending on who is out there - and, having some extra arms at her disposal, is dabbling in artistic pursuits at the same time, trying to get in some proper life action drawing practice.

Also, she is being ruder than average to all of Johnny's students and clapping and cheering slightly more for Ozpin's. She is not the unbiased press.

Sitting in a corner

[Luz didn't know this many people were showing up, and privately, she wished it wasn't so big. She was still feeling the fatigue of coming back from the dead, but at least it was nowhere near as bad as it had been a few days ago, where she just stayed in bed and was lectured at by everyone in the household with good reason.

Which was, of course, why she was here without anyone knowing. Luz was adamant about fulfilling her obligations, and while she was still new to Ozpin's school, she was going to give this all that she had.

Coughing a little, Luz is in her own little seat away from most, hydrating and trying to remember all of the movements she'd learned from when she was feeling better. In this rare instance, Luz was being fairly introvert].

Questions, First Aid, arguing with the ref

Hayato is having a really good time here! The tournament was, admittedly, a little more wild than the ones of his youth, but honestly, that made it a lot more fun. Regardless he takes his duty as the referee very seriously, and he makes his calls with swift accuracy, and stepping in if anyone crosses a line. The integrity of the sport is very important to him and he won't tolerate anyone being dodgy.

While he is all business during the matches, outside the ring and in between bouts he can be very easily approached. He'll make rounds with any of the teachers to make sure they don't need anything.

He will also approach anyone injured to make sure they get to a healer, especially if they need taken off the mat directly

Otherwise he can be seen just checking up on anyone, tossing them a water bottle with a smile and a "Hey, you did good out there."

Sasuke is obviously spending most of the tournament observing his students, giving them feedback after each match to let them know what they can improve on, whether it's in general or in their next fight. He isn't always the best at explaining it, always having relied on his own instincts rather than a set of guidelines to better his fighting techniques, but he's doing his best, and hopefully it's enough.

If he's not talking to his students, then he's probably sitting down with his own snack for just a moment of peace and quiet. Onigiri that he brought from home is definitely enough to hit the spot. He's not used to being around this many people willingly for so long and it's... exhausting. If it looks like he's hiding, it's probably because he is.

After the tournament is said and done, though, and particularly after his own match against Amaterasu (he lost, but barely, and given how strong she is, he's actually okay with that), he's easy to find to answer questions for anyone who has them. He's standing mostly off to the side, just out of habit, but he at least stayed put and didn't rush off after. Someone's learning how to people a little bit better here, apparently.

... Baby steps.

[It felt like this day had been building up ever since Johnny had first arrived in Trench. ...Or at the very least it had been building up since he learned of Ozpin's existence and their one sided rivalry began. But it had become so much more since then. Johnny's students had come so far- The kids themselves had the chance to compete and prove themselves and wanted it. Nothing could have meant more to Johnny right about now.

For the most part he can be found ringside cheering on, coaching and trying to inspire/bully to victory.

And sometimes he takes out his frustrations on people he don't deserve it.]

Come on Ref, That's an obvious fowl! where are you freaking eyes!? What are you, a fucking white belt!?

[And then he gets a look from the ref and he raises up his hands in placating gesture.]

Right. Right- Crazy fucking robot eyes. I get it.

[When his students aren't fighting he'll take a second to cool off. He's got a six pack of Coors Banquet on him and he's just cracked one open. If someone passes by he'll hold it up.]

Hey- You of age? Who am I kidding? Doesn't fucking matter here. You want one?

Shit's intense out there. The kids are really giving it their all.

After His Battles

[Keith was... frustrated. He'd let his temper get the best of him and just didn't focus enough. And now he was out of it after only the second round. He did his best to keep that annoyance at bay to watch Lance's remaining contests, though he had a feeling the latter was going to tease the crap out of him later for it, and then spent most of the rest of the time kind of moping and stewing and being his usual grumpy emo self.

He had a good number of decent bruises and scrapes, but nothing serious, at least. And he would venture over to get some food a couple of times through the event...

Most of all, after their fight during training, Keith was trying to avoid Johnny because he knew his temper was going to get him trouble again if he saw the annoying teacher and got any lip from him for getting eliminated so early.]

After the Fight

[Well. That was...at least something. Kokichi had ended up, by the end of that, sitting in the stands with a relaxed expression. Sure enough, he'd lost. The part that surprised him was how decently he did before that. Ah well. At this point, he was here for two reasons - one, it was something out of the ordinary to do.

Two, Ochako was kicking ass and far be it from him to leave when that was going down.]

...What the hell does 'plus ultra' mean anyway? [He asks himself, stretching back and yawning. Bleh.]

[He'd promised himself if he won, he'd confess. And...well, he didn't. Kokichi got close - no doubt about that, it was close but no cigar. He'd looked for Kaneki amongst the crowd, and once he'd given Shoyo his due respect as a competitor...he immediately made his way over and up to be at his side.]

I never doubted you'd be here, but I'm still glad to see you came. Neeheehee. I only wish I'd won so y'woulda had more to cheer about, but, hey. I got damn close with one month of training on me!

[He ended up sitting next to him, and nuzzling into his side.]

And now I am tired, and you are comfortable. Your fate is to continue supporting me. Face it with all the gravitas it deserves.

[He's smiling. His eyes are closed. It was rare for Kokichi to be able to feel comfortable and safe, but...Kaneki had given him that kind of feeling from the start.]

[ Penny spends most of the tournament making commentary, forming an easy, friendly back and forth with K. She seems to expect each match to end with a knockout at first, but after a few bouts she adjusts to the point-based nature of the competition. She doesn't leave the commentators' stand very often, but she's happy to make conversation with anyone who comes by.

In between rounds, she departs her stand to approach competitors, spectators, and instructors alike and start conducting interviews. There's really no limit to who she'll approach, and when she does she greets them with a friendly: ]

Excuse me! Would you like to share any comments about the most recent match.

[ Later, after her bout with Hayato, she's relaxing by the commentator's box once again. Though her match with Hayato ended in a draw, she's in even higher spirits than she was when the day began. She seems content to sit and people watch , but should someone else approach she won't hesitate to greet with with a bright smile and a small wave. ]

[Paul makes his way up into the stands after changing out of his gi and a quick effort to clean himself up. It still leaves his hair a mess, but he's not dusty or too sweaty, so it's an improvement he hopes will make him more palpable to the harshest judge at this tournament.

He thinks the green of the t-shirt (emblazoned in white print across the chest with the word 'JACKET') brings out his eyes, which he strives to make look as remorsefully appealing as possible as he sits next to Kaworu.]

[He rubs the darkening bruise on his forehead, conspicuously, and while he could look more pathetic if he tried, he thinks he should leave himself room to manuever.]
