Luca swims around in the clearing, spotting a few pieces of milky quartz and some sea glass, tumbled smooth by the waves and the sand. He picks them up, shoving them in his pocket (since Luca is just wearing his normal jean shorts as he swims).
"Some of the humans will trade for those, and rocks keep better than fish."
Sure, fish is also a good thing to barter since it's food and a lot of people are interested in trading for food, but things like the rocks are useful as a thing that won't spoil.

It's a short sound, but the tone and energy convey a mixture of emotions: Delight, appreciation, and being impressed by the kid's resourcefulness. Vyng loves natural trinkets and souvenirs — especially something forged within the turbulent ocean, like drift glass. His new friend has an excellent eye!
Intrigued, Vyng pushes against the water and kicks toward a few stray pebbles gleaming from the sand. With raised eyebrows, he points at them as if to ask, "Can I take some too?"

Once he's secured the stones inside one of his flaps, Vyng offers Luca a thumbs up. His hair is still framed by his wild gray hair, his clothes are weighed down by the water, but there's something peaceful about this exchange. Healing, even.
