she opens the door with a smile and a slightly furrowed brow. despite sensing him on her property, she hadn't been expecting him. ]
How did you know my car was in perfect condition?
[ she chuckles. it's in perfect condition, don't you worry. it's sitting in her garage with its hood cooling from her morning drive. ]
no subject
( and now he's wondering if she's somehow wrecked her car because she can. he frowns at her and his eyes flick in the direction of the garage. )
What did you to do it?
no subject
[ she laughs despite feigning being affronted. with her hands on her hips, she shakes her head incredulously. ]
Why must you always think I have done something to my car? I take very good care of it.
[ most of the time. ]
no subject
( that's doubt you hear in his voice, wanda. pure doubt. )
I feel like I should come over and check on it just to make sure.
no subject
[ she cocks her brow and smiles teasingly. ]
Do you fret about my car?
no subject
( fret is a weird word. )
But no, that's not the reason I'm here.

intending to make him sweat a little, she purposefully makes a noise on the second floor as she gets ready for bed. and when she's ready, she pulls her pillow over to the centre of the bed to make it a point that it's better without stefan's lumpy pillow in that exact spot.
but she doesn't bother to jump into bed. in this circumstance, katherine leaves the bedroom and heads down the stairs, footsteps loud, as she makes her way down to the ground floor to say goodnight.
after all, she is a nice person. ]

stefan hurriedly closes his eyes and tucks his arm underneath his head to act like he's asleep. the sofa is perfectly comfortable and he's tired. he's fast asleep. )
no subject
[ she leans against the wall and crosses her arms against her chest. as tempting as it is to go lie on top of him, katherine has self-control. she has a bed! a comfortable bed that she can spread out in!
smiling down at him, she shakes her head and tsks lightly beneath her breath. ]
I wanted to come and say goodnight, so. Goodnight.
no subject
( he's not taking anything back about the shoes. it was a good point. he doesn't open his eyes. )
Have a good sleep.
( in the bed. )
no subject
[ she sounds like she's smiling—and that's because she is. she chuckles, scrunching up her face as she watches stefan keep his eyes closed. ]
Are you comfortable? Do you need another pillow? Maybe an extra blanket?
[ yes, she's being annoying on purpose—and she's smiling while at it, too. ]

if anyone had asked her if she believed she would be holding hands with anyone, let alone stefan salvatore, she would've laughed. she likes to think of herself as someone who doesn't put her foot forward in the most obvious of ways. she likes to be subtle, even a shadow. this declaration is a lot coming from her.
and it's one that she's been making over and over since arriving in deerington and the trench.
when stefan manoeuvres them around a small group of people, one of the men happens to step back as katherine steps forward. she brushes her shoulder against him; while it's not enough of a force to throw her off-kilter, it does have her stepping into stefan. ]
no subject
Who did that?
( he doesn't know why he feels the need to know that right now when he could just let it alone but that's not happening. )
Who bumped into her?
no subject
[ katherine chuckles, furrowing her brows in light incredulity. she glances at the people, but she keeps her gaze on him. she's not necessarily one to instigate fights unless they have a desirable outcome for her... and she isn't one to stop a fight unless it's for the exact same reasons.
right now, she's not entirely sure which is her desirable outcome. ]
It's fine.
no subject
( they hadn't even apologized, katherine. no no, it's not okay. he starts moving back towards the group of people. )
Hey, hey!
( when he catches up to the group, he grabs the back of one's shirt and yanks him so hard, he hits the ground. oops. )
no subject
standing where he had left her, she crosses her arms against her chest and smiles.
she pouts. ] Ow. [ she rubs her shoulder. ] He bumped into me very hard.

she's such a good friend. :)
she buys him a light to sit the plants underneath with a few modifications made by yours truly. ignoring the tattoo on her wrist that's written in another language, she insists on taking his lights to him almost immediately.
she's not avoiding. who's avoiding things? not her.
when she arrives at his door, she knocks an obnoxious rhythm obnoxiously on the door. ]
no subject
( he has an idea of whose at his door and he's not going to be letting her in if he can help it. )
Who's there?
no subject
Do you always greet your door with such scepticism?
[ wanda realises who she's speaking to and what the obvious answer is: yes, yes he does. ]
no subject
( come on, wanda, did you expect a different answer? )
Yes, I do. You know that.
no subject
she knocks again, a rap-tap-tap. ]
I want to see your sceptical face. Open up.
