[ wanda shakes her head. she's the scarlet witch. she can take on an infinity gauntlet wearing mad titan and make him call for a blitz. she can take over an entire town.

she can pull a car from deerington.

surveying the ground, she taps her finger against her chin. ]

Do you think here is a good car spot?

( amos sighs because it appears that she's dead set on doing this. he shakes his head but he knows she's going to do it no matter what. )

It's fine.

( because she's going to do it no matter what. so, he just gestures at the spot and nods. )

[ wanda can feel his trepidation at the idea of her bringing forth the car, but she knows she can do it. she can do anything. it's what the dark hold had told her, and it's what pietro's voice tells her. his faith has never wavered, not even in death.

glancing at amos, she looks down at the ground. it's just grass, bright green and thick. she needs to mow it. holding her hands out, palms facing down, her fingertips begin to glow red. it's slow moving, how they intensify. her eyes glow red as the crown begins to form on her head.

all wanda is is a big glow of red, it beginning to almost stain the world around them.

it takes a moment and a tug of her hands. the car feels as it should, and when she summons it forward, it appears in a glow of red on the grass, with all of its exterior bits still intact even despite the unnatural witchy glow. ]

( he really doesn't understand her attachment to the car but it's not like he can stop her either. she's going to do what she's going to do and he's going to have to hope that it doesn't hurt her.

so, he stands back and watches, watches her glow and, after a moment, watches her pull a damn car out of nowhere. his mouth tips open and he stares at it and then he just curses under his breath.

Do you think it looks like it should?

[ it has all four wheels—rims, too—and its front lights. she imagines it has its backlights, too, but she begins to walk towards the trunk of the car to check. the car is as perfect (and shoddy) as it was back in deerington.

as for wanda, the red of her magic fades away, her eyes turning back to normal. the car tingles with red until it seems to slip away from it and disappear into the grass. she doesn't act like she's done something that should be impossible. ]

It's your car.

( it should look how she thinks it should look. he walks around it and nods because it looks pretty good in his eyes. red because of the magic but nothing else out of place. )

You tell me if it looks how you remember.

[ he's very annoying, but wanda does as he suggests. she walks around the car, looking at it, reaching out to brush her fingers against the trunk. it looks as it had before, halfway on its way to being a little more brushed up and clean around the edges. there's still a deep scratch on the back door that had been there before. the tyres still look like they've been in a fight.

she comes to stand at the front of the car with her hands on her hips. ]

The outside looks as it should. [ she smiles up at him and tries to tame her excitement. ] Do you think we should take it for a drive?

No.

( he doesn't even know if this garbage car works. she might have brought it through but still. he steps closer and puts a hand on it. solid. it's an actual car. )

How the hell did you pull this through from a city that existed in a dream?

[ that's a question wanda struggles in answering on any given day. if she wants it, she makes it. the scarlet witch is capable of spontaneous creation. she creates things... spontaneously. ]

[ it sounds like a silly answer, she knows. ]

I wanted it, so... I made it. Or brought it here. I don't know if this is the actual one we had in Deerington.

[ but it looks like its doppelgänger. ]

It's pretty close.

( so, that's something. maybe it's a little different than the car in deerington but the fact that she'd pulled the damn car out of nowhere is impressive. )

Where you gonna put it?

In the garage.

[ the corners of her lips twitch up in amusement at that. she has a perfect garage that's empty and waiting to be filled with this car. she watches him for a moment before she flicks a finger and the door closest to amos pops open. ]

Sit.

You're gonna drive it?

( does this thing even work? does he want to sit in a car that's just come from somewhere else?

what choice does he have? he gives her a look before he slides inside. )

Why not?

[ she slides into the driver's seat and closes the door. the car isn't quite done yet, but given that they'd gotten the engine at least purring the last time, she thinks it's about time that she takes it for a test drive. ]

Isn't that what you do with a car? Drive it?

Yeah, that's what you do but are you sure it works?

( considering she'd just brought the thing from some other world, he's a little uncertain. )

It's not going to blow up or anything, I hope?

If it does, I will protect you.

[ she turns and smiles at him over the gearstick. not very comforting, is it? but wanda knows that it won't blow. she'll control it.

the car may not be in the best shape for the road, but with the scarlet witch as the driver, she'll make it so for this little drive.

flipping the visor down, she catches the keys she'd very intelligently placed up there. slips it into the ignition and it squeaks pathetically. when wanda turns it again, it roars, although the car is lit with a thin, faint film of red.

it's very clear that wanda's giving it's jumpstart. ]

Quit saying you'll protect me like I'm some damsel.

( when the car starts up and he notices the red, he looks over at her knowingly. he knows what she's doing. )

Cheater.

[ she smiles over at him. she'll continue to tell him that. it's something she wants to say—she won't hurt anyone, not like she's been prophesied to—and she likes the fact that it bothers him a little. one day, she'll let him save her. ]

What? [ she observes him innocently. ] I am just turning my car on.

( amos doesn't brace himself or anything like that. he just waits for a second and watches her get the car going. )

You know how to drive, right?

( he should have asked that earlier. )

[ so, she does know the technicalities. wanda's still learning how to get comfortable behind the wheel.

she keeps her gaze ahead on the wheel. ]

He knew everything. He was like a walking encyclopaedia.

[ although thinking and talking about vision makes something in her heart wilt, she says it all with a smile—and on purpose. she likes the idea of amos reacting to her not invoking the most confidence out of him. ]

Right. A synthezoid.

( he doesn't disbelieve her but he really does wonder what kind of life she'd lived in the past, what she'd been doing, the ins and outs of it. he's not going to ask but still. )

Must have been nice to have something like that around, right?

[ she shrugs. it's better to shrug, it makes her answer seem so simple, the implications of it so mundane. having vision around had been more than nice, even if it had been strange and she had wondered when he would turn around and leave her, too. ]

He knew a lot of things. He didn't know how to drive a car, but he learned from an artificial intelligence.

[ she chuckles to herself, shaking her head. ]

It sounds strange, doesn't it?

Uh, yeah.

( just a little. but he comes from a place that's pretty damn weird and he's gotten used to hearing about this shit so it doesn't affect him too much. )

[ she smiles a little sadly at that. vision had been such a vibrant red—and at times a vibrant pink when in human skin—that remembering him as a muted purple is strange and devastating all at once. ]

He was like a human. Thought like a human. Sometimes acted like one, but one who didn't know much and had to learn. He just... looked different.

( that sounded...he doesn't know what that sounds like but she seemed to like him. )
