[This is Palamedes' third jaunt into the sea, and he fully intends for it to be the last. Barring some emergency that demands he do more swimming, clumsily and hating it the whole time, this is it - everyone else can enjoy the sea wrecks without him.
He's very determined about this, but in person he looks like if a drowned rat were a person, and he hasn't even gotten in the water yet. Oh, he's prepared now, physically - he knows what not to wear, what not to take with him, how to get down there as quickly as possible so as to not think about the journey too much, but emotionally? Just looking at the glittering water exhausts him.
He miserably removes his beloved yellow boots and passes them to his omen, a very large and very haughty-looking harpy eagle, who will not be joining them under the water, and then he looks miserably at Nara'a.]
What are you hoping to see down there? I'm going to pocket a few more relics, but it shouldn't take long.
[This is his grand offer of spending more time in the ocean... any interests in the sea, bud...]
[He understands being afraid of the water. The sea can be rough, even if it's calmer underneath the waves. And the sea is also unforgiving. He's lucky that he has his blessing that allows him to breathe underwater, and it's exciting that other people are getting to experience that, too.]
[But the sea is scary, because it doesn't care who lives or who dies.]
[He looks over at Palamedes, his own omen hopping off his shoulder and going to curl up near Pal's. The little lesser panda can do without getting his fur wet, thank you.]
I was hoping to see if I could find some more relics, and if I could maybe take some more video to show other people. I'm not familiar with the style of ships down there, but maybe someone else is.
[Palamedes' omen ruffles her feathers imperiously, but doesn't move from her spot; she's accepted the presence of this little omen, it seems. She's definitely going to have a better few hours than Palamedes will, slogging around underwater. Mmph. It's fine.]
Video... alright. Apologies in advance if I spoil any of your shots looking waterlogged and tragic down there.
[Ha ha. Really though, he's not going to look any better down in the water. He crouches down near his omen again to retrieve his bag, which is actually the third bag he's taken down in the ocean, having gone from a backpack to a much larger sack for max relics and then to this little one, which he straps around his waist. It's a fanny pack, of course.
[He puts a hand on the other's shoulder and squeezes gently. He's not going to let anything bad happen to Palamedes while they're down there. They'll be fine! Probably.]
Let's get going.
[He walks towards the glowing waves, ready to plunge in - but he waits for the other to get close before he dives under the water. If Pal looks like he's having trouble, he'll reach over and guide the other man down into the water.]
[The smile Palamedes manages is not in any way having a good time, but it is grateful, and also a little, hm, strained? He's not so much freaking out as welcoming back the dread he is now accustomed to; it's a different kind of grimace.
So, here he goes, trudging dutifully through the shallows and hating it like one might hate a particularly grueling plate of brussels sprouts, and—
And he is streamlining, so after he's made it to waist high in the water he sighs, shuts his eyes, and just flops face first the rest of the way into the water. In his defense, he's never been taught to elegantly dive. It's fine.]
[He suppresses a giggle at the flopping, and reaches out to take the other's hand. The miqo'te seems pretty comfortable, so hopefully that'll put the other at ease. Even if it doesn't, he'll start to tug the other along.]
[He can swim at a decent clip and pull a lot of weight, so it's no problem if Palamedes wants to hang on.]
[If he doesn't? Well, he can always slow down. He runs a hand through the algae or whatever it is that's glowing, and chuckles as he watches some of it cling to his hand. It's so interesting... if he could figure out what it's made of, maybe he could help other people breathe underwater, too.]
[Palamedes would like to dissociate and just appear at the boats, frankly, but if he must be pulled along through the water, he will deal with it. He makes a paltry effort to kick his feet, which isn't entirely his reluctance to be down here at all - he literally doesn't know how to swim all that well. It's a guess; there's kicking involved? He had one swimming lesson.
But he definitely does not want to touch the algae, staring at it suspiciously when some of it floats way too close to his face. Nope, this is definitely not to be trusted, ew...
Well, maybe he should put some in a jar. He didn't bring any jars. He looks at Nara'a, gesturing with one hand to indicate the glowing stuff and then... miming grabbing a handful of it? You know, because he's not touching that gross slime. He has limits.]
[Nara'a, evidently, has no such limits - he reaches out with his free hand and scoops some of it up. It's... squishy. Like algae probably should be.]
[It sticks to his hand somewhat and glows, and he laughs - it's clear from his body language, even if the sound is muffled. He carefully fishes out a handkerchief with one hand and wipes the slime on it. Now the handkerchief is glowing.]
[He nods and folds it carefully and tucks it into the fanny pack. Science! Or magic. Same thing.]
[He continues kicking along, holding onto Pal carefully. He keeps an eye out for any monsters, but they seem to be avoiding the area. For now, at least.]
[Which is good because while he can swim underwater just fine, fighting underwater is a different skill that he's not nearly as good at.]
nara'a → also sea walks

I'm streamlining. Shall we?

eugh.
Palamedes makes a face and huffs a bunch of bubbles, like, great, he didn't plan this far ahead. Ahem- where does he put this stuff.
Well, he can offer... his fanny pack? He unhooks it to hold it up, tugging it open. Here, please deposit the sludgy handkerchief in here.]
