[ she opens her mouth and furrows her brows, pausing for a moment. ]

I have an office at work.

[ but she doesn't sound as confident as she did before. while katherine is someone who likes to change things at times and considers herself a little more hip than stefan... she never considered that. ]

I think you could use another one. Not because you need to work more but I bet you have things you could take care of here and not there.

( he thinks it's a good idea and she'd hesitated so he thinks she likes it too. )

[ katherine looks away from him and smiles to herself. that doesn't sound like a bad idea. after all, she's already put some roots in the earth. is it so bad if she plants some professional ones? ]

( stefan rolls his eyes. he's not feeling all too badly despite being covered in scales. it's just a temporary thing. )

[ she pokes her fingers into his chest as she smiles. it's a lot easier to do this than to actually face front-on the fact that she's going to be setting up an office here.

but she's quick to furrow her brows and tilt her head to the side. that doesn't sound right at all. ]

Scale-tary? Scaly assistant? [ she purses her lips and settles for brushing her fingers against his chest instead. ] We'll figure out the job description.

( stefan rolls his eyes. )

I can be Stefan, your employee.

( he is not a secretary. )

[ she laughs. ]

My scaly employee if this doesn't clear up. [ she gestures with a wave of her hand towards his face. ] You might need to invest in hats. [ she purses her lips as she teases, ] And maybe turtlenecks. Hm.

( can you see him in a hat, katherine? he makes a face, shakes his head. )

I don't do hats.

[ he'd look awful in a hat. ]

[ she tilts her head to the side as she studies him for a long moment. narrowing her eyes, she smiles widely. ]

Your square face could definitely not pull it off.

[ she snickers. ]

( stefan makes a face and then laughs. he's used to it by now, at least. he knows this is her way of being affectionate. )

Not like you can pull off a hat either.

[manipulative]

[ she cocks her brow and plants her hands on her hips. that is one of the most offensive things he's ever said—and he's said many things! katherine pierce can pull off a bloody hat if she so much as wanted to. ]

I could pull off a hat, thank you. My head is normally shaped.

( he pauses, thinks about it and then smirks. )

[ she waves her hand dismissively. ]

[ maybe the 1860s? katherine didn't quite like the bonnets as little annabelle did. actually, she loathed them (and not because they messed up her hair).

she purses her lips to act nonchalantly. ]
