[ wanda laughs loudly. although she's laughed a lot since coming to deerington and the trench, this one is a surprise. she laughs so had she doubles over, her face reddening somewhat. he's not even that funny, but for some reason, it burrows beneath her skin and tears itself out of her.

she easily steps beside him and knocks her hand on his arm as she laughs. ]

You are so out of touch. No one says that anymore!

[ they do, but he's from space and a spaceman so she can make shit up if she bloody well wants. ]

[rocinantes]

( which is enough for amos. he says it so it's fine and valid. )

Besides, who cares if I'm out of touch. I deserve to be out of touch, I was in space and I didn't get hip to all the slang and shit that happens on Earth.

[explosion]

[ wanda snorts. he's so sensitive about his out-of-touchness it's almost adorable. ]

Because you are out of touch. [ she snickers. ] I am cooler than you. Did you know that? I'm your cool friend.

[rocinantes]

Uh huh.

( she was kind of his only friend. )

You don't know my other friends.

[explosion]

[ wanda appears excited at the idea. biting her bottom lip, she considers her answer... she's seen a few of his friends before. the one with the pants and the pretty one... and the ship certainly counts? ]

Holden.

[ she's proud of herself for that one. ]

[rocinantes]

He's my captain, not my friend.

( but maybe holden was his friend. )

He's an idiot.

[explosion]

[ although wanda is a telepath, she doesn't need to mind read to know that he's full of shit. she smiles, nodding, although it's very, very clear she thinks just that—that he's full of shit. ]

Do you call every person on your 'crew' an idiot?

[ that sounds like something a friend would call another friend. ]

It's affectionate.

[ wanda crosses her arms against her chest as she eyes him. ]

Would you affectionately call me an 'idiot'?

[ she has a feeling that if he says yes, she's part of his crew. and that in itself feels like a big, big thing. ]
