Luz couldn't help but think it, and she didn't fully understand why. Something about Hotaru seemed...out there.

"The Palisman that helps me fly!" Luz replied. "And yes, it's Owlbert. I didn't think up the name."

Because he wasn't hers, in all truth.

She could at least feel like the steely gaze of her mom was lifting slightly.
