I'm thinking 'bout how people fall in love in mysterious ways (WIDE OPEN)
Who: Vira-Lorr (
onerthes), Minako Aino (
loveandduty & YOU!
What: Minako and Vira-Lorr's Wedding
When: September 9th
Where: Vira-Lorr's House and backyard.
Content Warnings: Blood (During the Bonding Ritual), but otherwise nope!
Vira-Lorr and Minako Aino are getting married! Besides their public Network Post announcing it, invitations are put out as an open invite to anyone who wishes to come. Gifts aren't needed, but they're certainly welcome.
There is included only one request. The invitation is open, meaning that anyone could stop in. Because there are so many good reasons that some might have to dislike or wish harm on each other, Vira-Lorr includes with it a request that people place their pasts aside while they celebrate their wedding.
1) Getting Ready/Cleaning Up

Thanks to the difficulties that all Palebloods faced during this month, Vira-Lorr had put out a bit of a call for help, and many of their friends offered to be there to help with the setup. There were some refreshments set out for them in the days running up to the event. Tables had to be set up, lighting needed to be strung. Flowers had to be delivered from Makoto's florists and arranged as well. So much to do, so little time. A lunar orb had to be set up to power everything. Decorations were going to need to be festooned.
Vira-Lorr and Minako were around throughout. Once her eyesight was back, Minako would be able to fully help with the arrangements. They were certainly available to mingle among the guests and happiness was to be shared all around. The whole of the party was to be held mostly in the back yard of Vira-lorr's home, the woods serving as a backdrop on all sides. Sticks of incense were burning on the regular to ensure there was no trouble with local monsters. Seating was comfortable, with a wide set of table for most of the guests at the reception, along with seats facing the archway where the ritual would be performed.
Specifically, one of the arrangements that Vira-Lorr made sure happened were small tables, set back from the others. They were surrounded by screens of ivy and bamboo, allowing for privacy while dining and viewing the wedding itself. Knowing that a few guests might not want to mingle too widely, it felt a nice option to have.
2) The Refreshments

Food was set out and drinks were provided for all. Where possible, Vira-Lorr tried to use her friends' bakeries. It was sad to think that Lysithea wouldn't be here to cater for this, as she'd once hoped. Still, she liked to think she was there in spirit. Breads and fish were the dominant fare and there was but one rule with the food that was followed throughout. There were absolutely, positively, without question, NO MUSHROOMS to be found. Considering how many were around Vira-Lorr's house, it might have been surprising, but one of the two of them really didn't like Shitakes, so best to include only the food that they most loved, right? Most of the dishes were pastries of one sort or another, along with a fish entree for everyone to enjoy. And of course...

Drinks were available, though the sampling of wines were a little thin. There were only so many on offer in town, after all. Most of them were fruit wines of one variety or another. One of the local Trenchies, hired for the day, was serving behind the counter with the open bar. Non-alcoholic drinks were also provided, for those who preferred them.
3) The Ceremony (Warning for Blood Rite)

When it was time for the vows to be said, Vira-Lorr was positively beaming. Within the archway, at some point during the festivities, there was a strange but familiar Statue that appeared. Set up at the altar and the archway was a bowl with what looked like ... well, it was blood. There was no way around that. This part of the ceremony was the one devoted to the way things were done here in Trench. The ladies exchanged their vows to each other first, where all could see them and hear them, but afterwards was included a bonding ceremony.
For those who still remembered the bonding ceremonies that had been taught back in February, they would recognize it when the two pressed their hands to each other's shoulders. Vira-Lorr was just glad that paleblood neutralized the acids in her own. No wincing. No pain. It had worked safely. The shoulders, a physical bond, weren't what the Trenchies in attendance expected clearly, but Vira-Lorr smiled and looked at everyone.
"We value each other's privacy, and I trust Minako with my whole heart. We decided when we wanted to get married that we... we wanted a bond that would let us still feel our minds separate, but always be joined together. To us, this is that kind of bond." She'd let Minako add anything she needed. But it was clear that she was positively beaming.
4) Dancing and Mingling!

Once the food's been had and the vows have been said, it's time to celebrate! There's the cutting of the cake, and dances to be had. There was even a very real possibility that Minako had every intention to sing for their guests. Vira-Lorr wasn't about to stop her from doing that if she wished. When they weren't right out in the front, there was music being provided for people to dance to, as they pleased and folks were welcome to mingle long into the night. It was a rare moment where nothing seemed to be going wrong.
True, Never Mind had whatever it had in store for them, and just as true there'd just now been rumored occasional disappearances in town. But this was hopefully a moment for people to gather and to try and just relax, to have fun and remember that this was a place that they were now living, not simply surviving.

Makoto Kino | OTA
Though she was a part of the wedding party, Makoto was one of the first to arrive and begin helping with the floral arrangements. Many of the floral arrangements coming from her shop or the house, as did a bit of the food as well. Whether the effect of the moon or just the occasion was the cause one couldn't be sure, but she seemed to be a bit more chipper and social than usual. She's running around in a pair of jeans and tank top in the early preparations, not having gotten into her dress or having done make-up or hair yet.
Refreshments
Being a bridesmaid Makoto had given Minako her undivided attention for the day, having only separated long enough to help a little with the set-up and deliveries when they first arrived. And now that the ceremony was over she was taking a moment to just sit down and relax, still wearing the dress and doing her best to ensure that she wasn't getting anything on it. She stretched a moment smiling, happy to see both Minako and Vira-lorr so happy and able to celebrate their love like this.
And still, at the moment despite the fact that most everyone was eating Makoto was sitting at a table off to the side on her own just sipping on a glass that looked like it had some kind of sparkling fruit juice.
Dancing & Mingling
The ceremony was over, and the food and the drinks were gradually disappearing, but the music still played. Makoto had made it a point to get a dance in with Minako, Usagi, and Hotaru. As well as a separate one for Vira-lorr, but after that, she seemed to almost avoid the dance floor. Makoto stuck to the edge of the festivities, seeming happy to watch the others that were enjoying themselves dancing, sitting at the same table off to the side she had earlier just admiring the flowers that were on the table, trying to seem fine with just remaining there like one of the flowers in a vase. Lost enough in her own that she didn't notice when someone approached.
Cleaning Up
It was getting late, the music had stopped long ago and the married couple had retreated for the night. Makoto had long since shed the shoes she'd been wearing and was now walking around barefoot, not that she felt anything since her feet were entirely numb. But she started with the trash, not that there was much, but the small remnants here and there. As well as packing away what food hadn't been carried off by others.
She was pretty exhausted but still felt really happy, pleased that the special day went just as they had hoped without a life-shattering interruption or interference. Her hair was down from its usual ponytail by this point, the hair tie around her wrist as she began stacking chairs. It seemed like a perfect night just then.
Cleaning up
She saw Makoto and immediately slumped on the taller girl from behind.
"Mako-chaaaaaaaaaan it's so late, can't we save the cleaning for tomorrow?" she whined, not allowed to help when she ended up dropping about ten plates because not being able to TELL when you were touching something meant you didn't realize when it was slippery and so very very capable of falling out of her hands. "You've done so much already," she insisted, wanting the other to rest.

Getting ready
No today was the big day and for some reason Minako was slightly if not majorly anxious and walking around checking everything while her hair was tied up and a simple top and skirt for the moment.

dancing & mingling
It makes dancing a bit of a too bold activity, which is why Chizuru's gaze instead starts traveling through the rest of the room, finding Makoto sitting there by herself. At least she seems familiar.
So she ends up slowly moving over to where the other is sitting, giving Makoto a slight - and more than anything, shy - smile.
"Um.. Is it alright for me to come sit here with you for a bit..?"

Luz couldn't help but greet the tall girl with a hug, despite how much smaller she was. Luz was still buzzing with energy despite how late into the day it was, but seeing Vira and Minako typing the knot had her feeling pretty buzzed! Now that it was over, Luz had stayed behind to help with the cleanup, and was pretty happy to see that Makoto was doing the same. Luz was currently bringing down the streamers with the help of the staff.
"It was a pretty great day, wasn't it? Nothing crazy happened and the brides looked great! But you know that, you were watching over Minako today, right?"

The food's good, huh?
[He's always labeled himself a social eater, and that seems to be holding true here; he's definitely chowing down! This is a party; no reason to save it for the humans who actually need food. He's not having any alcohol, though, sticking to the fruit juice.

Re: Luz Noceda | OTA
Luz hated not being able to feel things so much, especially since she had invited Lexi to come with her, but at the very least she could still lend a hand with all of this. Luz busily strung up lights and was putting up flowers, happily humming to herself. None of the awful things that were going to happen to her had taken place yet, so she was in relatively good spirits!
The Ceremony
Was it solemn? Certainly. Were you going to hear suppressed sobs from a certain somebody who was doing her best to keep things together? Absolutely. Luz was a soft-hearted girl and seeing two good friends getting married and pledging themselves to each other was enough to keep her in shambles.
Dance
Luz would certainly indulge in this with anyone, she was in a pretty happy mood!
When it came to slow dancing though? There was only one person she'd be eyeing.

she's seen the brides around the network, but hadn't talked to them before. but with luck, maybe this would turn into a situation like hers with Ochako, where they were friends in their own rights?
and even if not, how could she pass up a chance to be her girlfriend's plus one and dance with her until the music stopped? easy. she couldn't. Luz's smile was worth the entire world to her.
so she stood and extended a hand to Luz to take] Shall we?
I'm so old I LOVE THIS SONG
SO DO I. if I ever get married, I hope it will be the 1st dance
It's such a good song, and I can't hear it without thinking of the animated sequence

Minako had for the most part been trying to focus on setting everything up. She had been here, there and everywhere she could possibly be all the while wearing jeans and a long shirt. It was clear she was anxious as she was helping with the table settings, chairs and flowers if she could.
"That was all that was left, right?"
Getting Ready
Minako sighed slightly. She never expected that she the great Minako Aino would be nervous when it came to the big day. A day that she never expected in the first place really.
As she stood in her long white wedding own and currently trying to sort out her hair she looked as beautiful as anything. But she kept being distracted whenever she tried to do her hair and asking a bunch of questions.
"Do you think everything was perfectly in place?"
"We don't have anything that could stain right?"
"Hey, I think I left the oven on" The last one made it obvious that perhaps it was the nerves talking more than anything as she started to fidget with her hairs and a small strand of hair she managed to get a hold of.
Post Ceremony
With the nerves finally gone and the ceremony having been done Minako was a lot more back to her usual self and had changed out of her wedding dress so it wouldn't get stained instead finding herself in a short orange formal dress. During the reception Minako could be found eating whatever she could with the food, seemingly excited and happy with each bite, Happily dancing away on the dance floor and looking around perhaps for some unsuspecting victim that she could drag onto the dance floor. and finally Running around and making sure that people were having a good time.
Setting Up
"If it's not, we can handle the rest while you go get dressed, Minako-chan. Leave it to us!" She is not afraid to enlist help to make Minako's day go perfectly.

Hotaru Tomoe | OTA
There's no doubt about it that Hotaru is here to help. Whether that means setting up chairs or helping with the various other things, it isn't difficult to find this young girl carrying something around. She is willing to do just about anything that will help make the whole ceremony go smoother.
The same is true of cleaning up. Putting chairs back where they came from or collecting items to be washed or put away. There's nothing she won't do to try to help Minako make this day special - especially if it means not having to worry about cleaning up at all.
Hotaru has lots of energy to spare so she'll go out of her way to ask: "How can I help?"
Refreshments
The best part of any wedding is the food and drinks, of course. She has to try a little bit of everything, even the non-alcoholic drinks. So it's easy to find her with a plate full of a little bit of each item, perhaps maybe spoiling her appetite for the actual meal.
"You should try this," Hotaru has no qualms about sharing her food with others at the wedding.
Dancing & Mingling
This is where the young girl makes a request of her own, going up towards the area with the music with her violin in hand. Hotaru will be playing a lovely song for the new couple. Something she's been practicing at home ever since hearing that one of her friends was going to be getting married.
They might also see her up on the stage at other moments, simply playing for fun whether it be a random slow love song or something more upbeat.
Of course she has to dance. Hotaru will grab the hands of her friends to lightly tug them towards the dance area. "Come on, let's dance!"
Dancing
"Hotaru-chaaaaan that was so good! You're amazing!" She couldn't actually FEEL the hug, which was a bit of a problem since Usagi couldn't really gauge how hard she was hugging someone when she couldn't feel... anything with her sense of touch gone.
She pulled away and grinned. "You did so good! I'm so glad I got to hear it!"

Reaper | Overwatch | Fashionably Late
Reaper had shown up fashionably late when it came to the guests, though he wouldn't miss the ceremony even if he had to murder a bunch of people to get there for the event. He took one of the chairs to the tables that were put well away from the rest of the mingling party goers.
Of course, he couldn't really be missed, given he was wearing so many ruffles thanks to his choice of Red Death outfit that he had chosen for this event. He figured it was the best kind of wedding attire that he could pull out, and no, he had given up years ago wearing a tuxedo so this was the next best thing. His coat seemed to billow and shift even when he was sitting or standing still.
He was available to pitch in with last minute preparations too.
Ceremony
Again, he stood off slightly to the side where he had a good enough view of the ceremony as it took place, but he found himself uncomfortably reminded of his spur of the moment idiotic decision to be convinced to elope with Maul. He was also, unfortunately, reminded of his official wedding many decades ago. She had looked as happy as Vira and Minako did as they read their vows, positively glowing.
For his part, he was pleased to see Vira-Lorr so happy. After all the failed relationships that she had attempted, this one seemed to stick. Minako was bubbly and accented Vira's own personality. They seemed good for each other, and he even mustered himself to clap for them once the blood ceremony was done and they were bonded to each other in the ways of Trench.
Mingling & Dancing
Reaper wandered around the edges of the mingling people, always with a drink in hand but seeming to never take a sip of it. Still, he had always found wandering with a drink made him slightly more approachable, and this was a time to celebrate. It wasn't often that anyone had a reason to throw down a celebration like this, and it had also been a very long time since he had attended a wedding
where he wasn't there to assassinate someone. As for dancing, just because he wasn't big on dancing didn't mean he couldn't. He made certain to approach Vira at one point and sweep into a deep and very dramatic bow, his red coat billowing out. "If this old friend could steal you for a dance, I would be honoured." Then he held out his hand to her, knowing that she wouldn't refuse him.
If he could get away with it, he'd dance with Minako. Yes, yes, he'd keep the threats of breaking his friend's heart to a minimum. Minako was lovely, but he hadn't gotten to know her too much, more inclined to 'pick on' Makoto of the bunch.
Otherwise, he actually wouldn't refuse a dance if asked.
Dancing
As the dance started, she was still positively beaming. "You might be proud of the two of us. We didn't choose one of those bonds with our minds involved. It seemed wisest to choose something that gave each other privacy."
