I'm thinking 'bout how people fall in love in mysterious ways (WIDE OPEN)

Who: Vira-Lorr ([personal profile] onerthes), Minako Aino ([personal profile] loveandduty & YOU!
What: Minako and Vira-Lorr's Wedding
When: September 9th
Where: Vira-Lorr's House and backyard.

Content Warnings: Blood (During the Bonding Ritual), but otherwise nope!

Vira-Lorr and Minako Aino are getting married! Besides their public Network Post announcing it, invitations are put out as an open invite to anyone who wishes to come. Gifts aren't needed, but they're certainly welcome.

There is included only one request. The invitation is open, meaning that anyone could stop in. Because there are so many good reasons that some might have to dislike or wish harm on each other, Vira-Lorr includes with it a request that people place their pasts aside while they celebrate their wedding.

1) Getting Ready/Cleaning Up

Thanks to the difficulties that all Palebloods faced during this month, Vira-Lorr had put out a bit of a call for help, and many of their friends offered to be there to help with the setup. There were some refreshments set out for them in the days running up to the event. Tables had to be set up, lighting needed to be strung. Flowers had to be delivered from Makoto's florists and arranged as well. So much to do, so little time. A lunar orb had to be set up to power everything. Decorations were going to need to be festooned.

Vira-Lorr and Minako were around throughout. Once her eyesight was back, Minako would be able to fully help with the arrangements. They were certainly available to mingle among the guests and happiness was to be shared all around. The whole of the party was to be held mostly in the back yard of Vira-lorr's home, the woods serving as a backdrop on all sides. Sticks of incense were burning on the regular to ensure there was no trouble with local monsters. Seating was comfortable, with a wide set of table for most of the guests at the reception, along with seats facing the archway where the ritual would be performed.

Specifically, one of the arrangements that Vira-Lorr made sure happened were small tables, set back from the others. They were surrounded by screens of ivy and bamboo, allowing for privacy while dining and viewing the wedding itself. Knowing that a few guests might not want to mingle too widely, it felt a nice option to have.

2) The Refreshments

Food was set out and drinks were provided for all. Where possible, Vira-Lorr tried to use her friends' bakeries. It was sad to think that Lysithea wouldn't be here to cater for this, as she'd once hoped. Still, she liked to think she was there in spirit. Breads and fish were the dominant fare and there was but one rule with the food that was followed throughout. There were absolutely, positively, without question, NO MUSHROOMS to be found. Considering how many were around Vira-Lorr's house, it might have been surprising, but one of the two of them really didn't like Shitakes, so best to include only the food that they most loved, right? Most of the dishes were pastries of one sort or another, along with a fish entree for everyone to enjoy. And of course...

Drinks were available, though the sampling of wines were a little thin. There were only so many on offer in town, after all. Most of them were fruit wines of one variety or another. One of the local Trenchies, hired for the day, was serving behind the counter with the open bar. Non-alcoholic drinks were also provided, for those who preferred them.

3) The Ceremony (Warning for Blood Rite)

When it was time for the vows to be said, Vira-Lorr was positively beaming. Within the archway, at some point during the festivities, there was a strange but familiar Statue that appeared. Set up at the altar and the archway was a bowl with what looked like ... well, it was blood. There was no way around that. This part of the ceremony was the one devoted to the way things were done here in Trench. The ladies exchanged their vows to each other first, where all could see them and hear them, but afterwards was included a bonding ceremony.

For those who still remembered the bonding ceremonies that had been taught back in February, they would recognize it when the two pressed their hands to each other's shoulders. Vira-Lorr was just glad that paleblood neutralized the acids in her own. No wincing. No pain. It had worked safely. The shoulders, a physical bond, weren't what the Trenchies in attendance expected clearly, but Vira-Lorr smiled and looked at everyone.

"We value each other's privacy, and I trust Minako with my whole heart. We decided when we wanted to get married that we... we wanted a bond that would let us still feel our minds separate, but always be joined together. To us, this is that kind of bond." She'd let Minako add anything she needed. But it was clear that she was positively beaming.

4) Dancing and Mingling!

Once the food's been had and the vows have been said, it's time to celebrate! There's the cutting of the cake, and dances to be had. There was even a very real possibility that Minako had every intention to sing for their guests. Vira-Lorr wasn't about to stop her from doing that if she wished. When they weren't right out in the front, there was music being provided for people to dance to, as they pleased and folks were welcome to mingle long into the night. It was a rare moment where nothing seemed to be going wrong.

True, Never Mind had whatever it had in store for them, and just as true there'd just now been rumored occasional disappearances in town. But this was hopefully a moment for people to gather and to try and just relax, to have fun and remember that this was a place that they were now living, not simply surviving.

As soon as Makoto's fingers were interlocked with hers, she smiled and shook her head, pulling her over towards one of the tables for guests, tugging lightly on her hand.

"Mako, Mako, Mako," she chastised before pulling up the table cloth and pulling out a plate of goodies and holding them up to the auburned-haired girl. "Pretty sure means to ME 'why no, Usagi, I didn't eat,' cause if you can't remember if you ate, you absolutely didn't... even if you did. Here, have some desserts before we head home. Say aaaah!" she held up a brownie bite.

For Makoto it usually just meant that she'd been too busy to keep track, either from getting home late from training or club activities, or saving the day, not really having the time or energy to cook or make something for herself. She was more concerned with making sure that everyone else was taken care of.

As she was being pulled along, she felt her ears start to burn just a little, almost like she was a child. But when Usagi went to feed her a bite of brownie, she felt her heart skip a beat as she wrapped her lips around the bite lightly kissing Usagi's fingers as they brushed against her lip.

Her emerald eyes were locked on Usagi as if she'd had a sudden realization, her hand reaching up and taking Usagi's in her own.

"A-actually there's something I need to tell you."
lightthedarkness: (Usagi) (Cute but ditzy)

She blushed when Makoto's lips kissed her fingers, which made her clear her throat. She then blinked when Makoto grabbed her hands, tilting her head.

"Mnn, yeah, of course, you can tell me anything!" she smiled brightly, always willing to listen.

That smile, it always drew her in with how bright it was. Usagi had always been the one that Makoto was chasing after and following, even without knowing it. They had fought together, lived together, laughed and cried. Other than Atsushi, Usagi was one of the only other people that Makoto didn't feel the need to be someone else around.

She couldn't bring herself to say what she had looking at her directly, so with a face that was as pink as the roses of her ear rings she looked down.

"I-I really care about you. As more than a friend. Being with you and moments like this, it's similar to how I felt being with Atsushi. Not exactly, b-but I know I care about you, more than I care about eating."

Working up the courage she looked back at Usagi.

"I love you."

Please don't laugh and send her away.

Having been forced into Deerington and then coming to Trench had made Usagi experience all sorts of things. She had gotten closer to the girls, relied on them and had to also stand on her own in ways she didn't know she could. While in both places, she had gotten much closer to Makoto, especially, since they had chosen to live together.

And she loved the girls. All of them. Some of the love was in very different ways like admiration for Setsuna and Michiru. Some of it was sisterly or like a mom with Hotaru and the quartet. Her own daughter was motherly and sisterly love as a given. Attraction and admiration mixed together for Haruka.

It was different, however, with the inner senshi. It always had been.

She loved them.

It was incredibly easy to be in love with the girls. They were too amazing to not be in love with them. She loved Mamoru, he would always be first in her heart, but the girls all occupied their own places in her heart, they all took up space that was theirs and theirs alone. Loving the girls was not some leap in logic to Usagi, it was as much about being attracted to them as it was to admire them, to befriend them, to fight beside them, and to protect them. All of it was absolutely the same because she just loved them.

She listened and was quiet for a moment and then reached up, holding Makoto's cheek with her hand while the other grabbed her hands.

"I'm truly honored," she smiled, sincere, her own cheeks pink at knowing Makoto felt that way about her. "I love you, too, and not just as a friend or my sister in arms, or guard," she offered to assure her she understood what kind of confession Makoto was giving her.

She pulled her hand away from Makoto's cheek and just held her hands.

"I'm not really sure what we should do now, though," she offered. Makoto was still healing from Atsushi's loss, and she had Mamoru on her mind. She didn't know what Makoto wanted, if this was just to confess and move on or to confess and something more. She wasn't even sure she could manage "something more" yet.

It was true that Makoto still thought about Atsushi almost daily, but unlike the first time that he had left this time Makoto had been a bit more at ease. But her love for Usagi had grown so muhc more since they'd come to Deerington and to Trench. Living with her had created so many more intimate moments, chances for them to bond and spend time getting closer. Everytime that Makoto had stumbled or needed anything Usagi was always the first one there. Like tonight, saving a plate of desserts because she knew that Makoto would be too busy to think about eating.

When Usagi confirmed that it wasn't one sided, there were a few tears in Makoto's eyes as she closed them and leaned forward rest her forhead against Usagi's and moved her hands from holding the blondes to a hug. It was true that compared to Usagi, Minako, and Rei, Makoto was an idiot when it came to stuff like this. Mainly because she had always thought that she'd never be loved, not in a way that mattered like this.

"We should finish the rest of this plate and then head home. It's getting pretty late."

Backing up a little she wiped her eyes, still blushing.

"On the way back we can talk about a proper date. And whether we should tell the others."
lightthedarkness: (Usagi) (Little cutie)

[personal profile] lightthedarkness 2022-09-18 02:21 am (UTC)(link)
She moved a little bit onto her tiptoes and pressed a small kiss to the tip of Makoto's nose, smiling bright and wide with a blush on her cheeks as she snuggled into the hug. She was careful not to spill the plate as she moved it back between them.

"Made sure I saved your favorites, mine too," she grinned. Usagi linked their fingers and stood beside Makoto.

"Mnn! Yeah, today should belong to Mina-chan," she offered, looking towards the direction where the brides went. She looked back up at her.

"Let's go home."

Makoto felt a million times lighter now that she had gotten the way that she was feeling off of her chest, and felt even lighter to know that Usagi felt it as well in a way. The kiss cemented that she hadn't simply heard something that she wanted and wasn't misunderstanding something. For the first time in a long time that she could feel her whole body tingle just a little, including the cool grass under her feet.

"Let me return the favor then."

Makoto grabbed the fork and got a small piece of cake and icing, holding it out for Usagi with her hand to catch any crumbs.

"Mhmm, they definitely have other things to think about tonight. But Hotaru might still be up when we get back."

Usagi was only too happy to oblige, incredibly used to Makoto feeding her. After all, she was Makoto's number one taste tester and biggest fan of her cooking.

"Aaaaah!" she was careful about where her tongue was since she wouldn't be able to feel the prong of the fork even if she could taste the icing.

"Then we'll read her a bed time story and talk afterward."

"That sounds like a great idea if she's still up."

Makoto grabs a small bite of cake once Usagi had hers, it was sweet and tasted really good, even more after the long day and hard work. Tonight had been wonderful, and this was the perfect way to end it, a small little moment with just her and Usagi. The two are honest with their feelings about one another, sharing food after celebrating the love their friend had found. Seeing so many of their friends happy and celebrating.

"You're really beautiful."
lightthedarkness: (Usagi) (Oh gosh)

[personal profile] lightthedarkness 2022-10-09 03:54 am (UTC)(link)
Usagi blushed deeply at the compliment. It wasn't that she thought she was ugly, Usagi was rather proud of several features of hers, but it was hard to think of herself as beautiful when she was surrounded by her loved ones. Rei, Makoto, Ami, Minako, Mamoru, Michiru, Haruka, and Setsuna were all gorgeous. Then there was the Starlights and Galaxia. Luna was gorgeous in cat and human form.

So it was just hard to think of herself amongst all her beautiful loved ones.

She bowed her head and pushed back some of her hair behind her ear.

"I... mean, everyone looks pretty at a wedding."

"Maybe, but it's not just tonight. I'm really happy to know you, and that I get to be next to you each day."

Makoto found herself wanting to reach out and follow Usagi's hand as she tucked the hair back behind her ear. Wanted to take the other's hands in her own, but instead, she held onto the plate of food Usagi had saved for her and the fork they'd been using.

Her own cheeks were pink with blush under the faint light of the moon and stars.

"Being with you feels like being home."
lightthedarkness: (Usagi) (Within my heart)

[personal profile] lightthedarkness 2022-10-16 05:34 am (UTC)(link)
"I know, with my entire being, there would have always been a hole in my heart that you were meant to fill, not just because we're destined to know one another and be beside one another, but because you are such a powerful light. You are one of my precious people, Mako-chan."

She looked up at the moon and then back to Makoto.

She wondered if now was the time to admit that really, the only reason Usagi stayed was because of her loved ones. She had no inkling or sense of home in Trench. But so long as her beloved precious people were here, she would remain.
