"Hey, no problem. If bitching about Earth makes you feel better, I can go for a while," she said, trying to keep the tone light even if the things she was bitching about were not at all that. No reason to talk about, like, the extremely dark stuff. "Like, dude, listen."
She leaned over, resting on her arm, giving NP a wry sort of grin. "There's a whole dude out there, Sun Tzu, who wrote a book about how to wage war properly, like, way back in 500 BC or something." She paused for a moment, wondering if she needed to explain Jesus the Christ to NP, then moved on. "And, like, here's the kind of intellect we're fucking working with around here. 'Cause Sun Tzu, he was just a philosopher. He didn't make these kinds of decisions. And he had to put a chapter in his Big Book of War that reminded the people who did make these kinds of decisions that if you have an army, you need to remember to feed them, or they'll die."
See, that was probably as light as she could've made it. "Everyone's over here like 'oh, art's bad, philosophy doesn't matter' and they're treating whole armies of people like tin soldiers. Earth is fucking dumb sometimes, NP."
