11 . clockhouse rebuilding!
Who: Those who have offered to help rebuild the Clockhouse, and anyone else who'd like to pitch in!
What: An open mingle log to repair after fires and floods.
When: Throughout September, precise dates not specified.
Where: In Gaze, at the forest's edge.
[ When the weather and chaos dies down, work on the Clockhouse picks up. The building was once an old Deerington mansion, luridly green and eccentric; age faded it into half a ruin, and July's fire did the rest. August's flooding came fast and hard, and now there's very little left to salvage.
The first step has been a damage assessment, with volunteers picking through the structurally unstable ruins, finding singed fiction novels, crisped houseplants, and a weird number of melted grandfather clocks. Demolition goes quickly, while Ozpin stands by and does not even try to control the situation.
Volunteers are needed to design the new structure, carry in materials, and build... and then to decorate and enchant what they've created. The few Sleepers with genuine construction experience provide direction, Ozpin sometimes among them, but things are largely chaotic. A few Sleepers provide snacks and cheerleading.
This is a mingle log. Please feel free to make a toplevel, and comment with your character's contributions below! ]

[It's not super hard to catch up with her or the chickens. Getting a good handle on them is another story.]
We're after all of them, but the biggest one is the General. She's their ring leader and if we take her down the rest will follow!
no subject
Sure. I'll go left-
[ He darts one way, trying to herd the chicken back in Ruby's direction. ]

[And Ruby darts to the right. There's a certain playful intensity to her movements now that she's got a team mate there.
Meanwhile the chickens notice they've got two people coming at them from different directions. They try to maneuver out of the way, but that does lead them toward a fenced off corner at the edge of the yard.]

He crouches a little low as he advances, eyes narrowed in concentration. ]
Alright. C'mere-
[ There's a flurry of wings and feathers and the hen in question launches herself straight up and at him - and over.
Oops. ]
no subject
Except Ruby sees the chicken launch itself over Battler and there's a brief moment where she has to cheer.]
Oh wow, General Henstable! That was amazing!
[Cheer on the wrong side.
And it distracts her from where she's running.
Which is right into Battler.
Ooops.]

[ Battler has half-turned his head to try and track the bird as it goes over him. So he doesn't see her coming at him. Oops.
He collides with her as he tries to about turn and there's a giant thud as the two smack into each other and go down in a tangle of limbs.
Ow. ]
no subject
She let's out a little whine.]
I was just... I was so proud of her... She's my baby...
no subject
Your baby just kicked our butts.
[ Groan. ]
no subject
She's so strong.
[Ruby. Is definitely missing the point here. It might be why the chickens have remained uncaught so far.]

[ GROAN. ]
no subject
But- What if she's too powerful for us to take on now?
no subject
[ Battler frowns. ]
I am not letting a chicken get the better of me, though.
no subject
[She mumbles lightly under her breath but hearing Battler's next words ignites a bit more determination in her.]
You're right. They're our pets. They're here to be loved and protected by us. Not making us look like chumps!
Let's try this again.

[ He hops to his feet and dusts himself off and casts about for the chicken. It couldn't have gone far while they were feeling sorry for themselves! ]
