[As if his outward smile isn't enough, he has to go all happy and relieved on the inside. He gives Obi-wan a little nudge]

Stop worryin' if it's "interesting". You know that's not why I like you.

[jedies]

Oh?

Should I ask what parts you do like?

[hearuthinking]

[He takes in a slow breath and releases it. Very slowly Jason reaches out and manages to grip onto Obi-wan's fingers]

You're calm and patient. You're bad-ass, you look for peace first, you're smart... And you have such a good heart. I only saw you with Leia for two minutes and I could see how much you loved her.

Those are the things I like about you, Obi-wan. Your Jedi shit is cool and I still wanna see it in action, but only 'cause I think it'd be nice to see you show off for a change. You don't gotta impress me or entertain me 'cause I promise you, I'd like you just the same without those powers.

[He falls quiet, feeling strangely okay about exposing his feelings. But he still ends with a little smirk and something not quite so serious]

It don't hurt that you're hot as hell.

[ oh, he's honestly quite touched by this. he leans over to press a kiss to jason's forehead. ]

[Jason freezes up feeling the kiss on his skin. He can't breathe properly and his whole face goes red. He can feel his heart pounding, his body alive in excited tingles. Jason grows bolder and takes Obi-wan's hand firmly in his, leaning closer.

All those fears and doubts are quiet in his head for once. He closes his eyes and just breathes in the moment]

[jedies]

[ obi-wan squeezes the hand in comfort. ]

Shall we?

[hearuthinking]

[Jason blinks at him dazedly] Yeah, sure.

[He should probably clarify what he's agreeing to]

[jedies]

To the Sanctuary, for the rest of the story. Since you asked.

[hearuthinking]

Oh, yeah. [That had gone completely out of his head, and just from a kiss to the forehead. But Jason doesn't look that embarrassed]

You distracted me.

[He keeps his hold on Obi-wan's hand, though the grip's loose enough that Obi-wan can let go if he wants. Jason knows the way to the Sanctuary by heart after going there so many times on patrol and helping test out that talisman. He chats a bit about that (still no negative effects from the talisman) and his time losing the various senses]

I made you somethin': it's a Russian drink. I figure we can drink it while we swap stories about what we were up to back home.

[jedies]

I won't say no to a drink.

[ says obi-wan, a man who likes his drinks. ]

[hearuthinking]

[Gives him an amused look]

It's called sbiten. Really good on cold days.

[With that lead-in, Jason leads them to the kitchen so he can heat up the drink and get them both glasses]

So you first. Tell me all about rescuing Leia from kidnappers.

[jedies]

[ obi-wan hums softly. ]

Leia was adopted by a good friend of mine. Bail Organa. When she was taken, he was one of the few people who was able to contact me. After all, I had gone into hiding. Jedi were hunted throughout the galaxy.

[hearuthinking]

So you risked exposing yourself to save her.

[Risking so much to save another. Jason can relate to that all too well, and it makes him like Obi-wan even more]

[jedies]

Mm. At first, I didn't think I could help out much.

But I had to. For her.

[hearuthinking]

[Jason again nods in understanding]

Must've been the greatest feeling when you found her.

[jedies]

It wasn't at the start. She was very opinionated and didn't trust me much.

[hearuthinking]

Yeah? [He snorts in amusement] So what'd you do to win her over?

[jedies]

I had to show her my Jedi powers, of course.

[hearuthinking]

Of course. [He takes a sip of his drink]

It worked, though. When I saw her in your memory, you two looked close.

[jedies]

Mm. Not quite, but we were getting there. There were things I had to keep from her . . . and she could sense that.

[hearuthinking]

I told you that you ain't exactly hard to read.

You think you'll keep in touch with her? If you ever make it back home again?

[jedies]

[ obi-wan shakes his head. ]

No. It's too dangerous.

[hearuthinking]

[Again, it's a familiar sentiment. Jason reaches over to take Obi-wan's hand]

I tell you what, though: that little girl ain't ever gonna forget you. So in a way, you'll always be with her.

[jedies]

[ obi-wan smiles faintly. ]

I don't doubt it.
