[He smiles back]

[His smile grows a little more]

Glad you like it. There ain't many places in Trench I can take you, but I figure we can at least have some nice drinks wherever we are.

The places don't matter, Jason. I'm quite happy spending time with you.

[He blushes at that] You're real easy to please, you know that?

Yep. It works for me, though. Means I'm doin' something right.

Were you worried about that?

[He nods, taking a sip of his drink to have something to do. Jason feels like he's already jumped over the biggest personal hurdles: he's no longer thinking that what he feels is wrong, or that he's wrong somehow for feeling it]

Bein' with you is enough for me too, Obi-wan. I only wanna take you to places 'cause it's special, and I like the idea of doin' it for you. I like makin' you smile.

Well . . . I won't say no to that.

[He lets out a laugh and nudges Obi-wan]

See? Like I said, you're easy to please.

It helps that I lead a simple life.

Seems to me you earned it after all you've been through.

Not sure that's in the cards for me. Not back home, anyway. Even if they let it slide that I disobeyed orders and chose an "enemy soldier" over my team, we still stumbled upon fuckin' alien vampires. Don't think anything's simple after that.

Well, it's only simple in the sense that I don't have much.

I'm still hunted by the Empire.

Why are they after you?

[jedies]

[ he falls silent. ]

That is precisely why. The Empire has no interest in protectors or guardians. They wish to rule with an iron fist.

That is seriously fucked up.

[He huffs, feeling frustrated. Wanting to do or say something, but there's really nothing. There's only one thing he can think to give]

Listen. I'm just an Omni message away, whenever you need me.

I appreciate that. And don't worry. The Empire isn't going to get its hands on me.

[There really is no good segway to another subject so Jason just changes gears]

During my trip home, one of the first things that happened was we found out one of my team was infected by this alien parasite. They were hurt by sunlight so we whipped out a UV light and burned it out of her. She was pissed off, went chasing after it.

[It is a very broad summary, but it hits the highlights]
