Mm. At first, I didn't think I could help out much.

But I had to. For her.

[Jason again nods in understanding]

Must've been the greatest feeling when you found her.

It wasn't at the start. She was very opinionated and didn't trust me much.

[hearuthinking]

Yeah? [He snorts in amusement] So what'd you do to win her over?

[jedies]

I had to show her my Jedi powers, of course.

[hearuthinking]

Of course. [He takes a sip of his drink]

It worked, though. When I saw her in your memory, you two looked close.

Mm. Not quite, but we were getting there. There were things I had to keep from her . . . and she could sense that.

[hearuthinking]

I told you that you ain't exactly hard to read.

You think you'll keep in touch with her? If you ever make it back home again?

[jedies]

[ obi-wan shakes his head. ]

No. It's too dangerous.

[hearuthinking]

[Again, it's a familiar sentiment. Jason reaches over to take Obi-wan's hand]

I tell you what, though: that little girl ain't ever gonna forget you. So in a way, you'll always be with her.

[jedies]

[ obi-wan smiles faintly. ]

I don't doubt it.

[hearuthinking]

[He smiles back]

So how do you like the sbiten?

[jedies]

It's lovely. Thank you.

[hearuthinking]

[His smile grows a little more]

Glad you like it. There ain't many places in Trench I can take you, but I figure we can at least have some nice drinks wherever we are.

The places don't matter, Jason. I'm quite happy spending time with you.

[hearuthinking]

[He blushes at that] You're real easy to please, you know that?

[jedies]

Am I?

[hearuthinking]

Yep. It works for me, though. Means I'm doin' something right.

Were you worried about that?

[hearuthinking]

A little. You get this is new for me, right?

[jedies]

I know. We can take it one step at a time, Jason.

[hearuthinking]

[He nods, taking a sip of his drink to have something to do. Jason feels like he's already jumped over the biggest personal hurdles: he's no longer thinking that what he feels is wrong, or that he's wrong somehow for feeling it]

Bein' with you is enough for me too, Obi-wan. I only wanna take you to places 'cause it's special, and I like the idea of doin' it for you. I like makin' you smile.

[jedies]

Well . . . I won't say no to that.

[hearuthinking]

[He lets out a laugh and nudges Obi-wan]

See? Like I said, you're easy to please.

[jedies]

It helps that I lead a simple life.
