[ He can't say it's a surprise, but it is disappointing: here's one more burned bridge. They keep popping up just when he thinks he's finished touring them all. John, who can't ever pass up an opportunity, raises a hand in a wave goodbye. Shiro looks like he might hit him again.

But he takes the kid's hand, in the end, and lets himself be led on through Trench. They probably could've done this by Lamp transit, but there is something so painfully charming about trying to keep up with Billie's scurrying walk.
