... You're goin' the wrong way.

(she will ignore everything he just said to her and will be a backseat driver instead. if he chooses to look back at her, jinx will now have the object in her hand that she pulled out during his ranting.)

[He pauses. Turns s l o w l y. Squints at the shiny object.]

Have you ... had that the whole time?

[opheliac]

Yeah? And? What's it to you?

(she carelessly tosses the object up as if playing catch with herself. but don't worry, jinx makes sure she gets a hold of it when gravity decides to sink in.)

[bolstafir]

....That shows the way out, right? You had it all this time and you were just gonna sleep in here?

[why. there are so many nicer places to sleep that aren't likely deathtraps.]

Movin' around for who knows how long sounds like a lotta work to me.

(besides the situation she was/is in would had worked out on its own eventually. at least, that's what she believes.)

Soooo you'd rather just lay down and die, instead.

Who says I'm gonna die? I'm just sleeping. It takes a lot to kill me, bucko.

(jinx now decides to take the time to really get a good look at this stranger.)

— I'm gonna guess you're easy? You whine enough to be.

[BROTHERS this kid is infuriating.]

Gonna go out on a limb and guess you're new, huh?

[Honestly, if she didn't have the Shiny Thing, this would be the point where he'd be sorely tempted to throw his hands up and walk away.]

Give it a few months, you'll get it.

[opheliac]

You mean give it a few months and I'll rock this city's world? Then YEAH! That's definitely gonna happen, Captain.

(a beat.)

Yep, that's it. You'll be Trench's Next Top Squid by the new year. Totally.

[Drawled out in the flattest, laziest note possible, though he does take the turn when she suggests it.]

Are you going to make me keep dragging you?

[opheliac]

Sheesh, I dunno. Are my eyes pink?

(he has a small point. the twigs and dirt are getting all over her pajamas and hair. but she'll just shower later. maybe. or she will just sleep while being filthy. a little dirt doesn't hurt anyone.)

[bolstafir]

Suit yourself, kiddo.

[He'll just! keep dragging!! And if occasionally he drags her over a rock or a particularly large tree stump, well. He DID ask.]

(WHELP. she thought this was going to be a pleasant ride but with the rock and/or a FUCKING TREE STUMP (which she had to jerk her body to avoid), there's finally some movement for her. jinx attempts to yank her legs out of his grasp.)

Hey, WATCH IT! — If you're gonna pay attention where we're goin' then don't drive at all...!!

[Here's the thing: he's absolutely doing this on purpose. Normally? He's so hypervigilant about this sort of thing he could potentially warn her about a falling acorn.

He tried to play nice!! But now he is going to play like an asshole, and make no effort to stop her from yanking.]

You could always try, you know, walking. I hear it's good for your health.

[opheliac]

Fine! Let go so I can freakin' walk...! Uuughh!

(this stranger sucks so many eggs. with her arms cross, she will lie there and wait for him to let go of her legs so she can scramble up to her feet. she guesses!!!

but will she move afterward that? only time will tell with this girl. and will they ever make out of the forest? there is a big chance the two of them will be here all night.)

[bolstafir]

Sure.

[He could set them down gently, but instead he just lets them flop down. Hopefully the area they land in isn't muddy. (:

He's just gonna stand here and wait for her to stand, meanwhile. It does not look as though he intends to leave.]

[opheliac]

(what an ass! if she wasn't so exhausted, jinx would had kicked him in the shins. but as promised, she gets to her feet then briefly dusts herself off (which is pointless given she is covered in earth). blowing her bangs out of her face, her arms fold over her chest -- eyes narrowing.)

Okay, Jerk-O-lard, I'm up. Ya happy?

Ecstatic.

[Drawled, looking more bored than anything. Ah, sarcasm his beloved.]

So which way does it say to go now?

[opheliac]

(she lifts up a hand with the object, waving it around to see which direction it glows the brightest. it seems to shine more when she aims it to the left.)

Left.

[bolstafir]

Left it is.

[So...onward. The trip seems to go more or less smoothly, once they start following the gem's directions properly, and eventually the object is completed in its proper dragon-headed form. He sighs.]

I swear, if this thing leads us to a dragon guarding the exit, I'm gonna find Cloverfield and punch him in the face when this is over.

[It's been a VERY LONG DAY and he is OVER it.]

(meanwhile, jinx will follow behind pretty slowly as she obnoxiously yawn. who knew walking is such a damn chore these days?)

I'd like to see a dragon. I hope it's purple with blue polka-dots.

[bolstafir]

[Qrow rolls his eyes.]

Trust me, kid, fight enough of 'em and the whole 'winged lizard breathing fire' thing loses its appeal real fast.

[opheliac]

Thaaat's why you switch it up! Then things get boring, you make changes. It's what I do with everything.

(she walks a little further until she leans against a tree to take a small break. and with him being so far ahead now, she shouts to him from the back:)

Make a right!

[bolstafir]

[He doesn't go too far without her, at least, though he does keep an eyebrow raised as he moves to make that turn.]

Can't say I've been a big fan of any of the monsters that've tried to kill me over the decades, actually, no matter how many different types come at me.

[Not that he doesn't enjoy fighting, honestly, but the "for your life" part gets exhausting, especially when you've been at it since you could reasonably hold a blade.]

Where to next, Bluebell?

[why ask a name when you can be lazy and address someone based on their theme colors!]

I dunno! I gotta move for us to know where. ( and notice how she is keeping completely still again. but she waves a hand dismissively like it's no big deal. ) Probably straight or whatever. I think I see the city from here, anyway.
