(mostly open) oh this love would kill me
Who: Ange, Ruby, and you!
What: Ruby and Ange's wedding, and all their CR is invited!
When: Late October
Where: The rebuilt Clockhouse
Content Warnings: Semi-irresponsible weapon usage.

Sometime around the beginning of October invitations would have started to be sent out to the various people in Trench Ange and Ruby know - announcing the two girls' wedding at the end of the month.
When the day itself comes, people will find the location - the newly rebuilt Clockhouse, which some of the invitees may have helped rebuild in the first place - tastefully decorated. Some of the house's stranger features have been covered up by decorations in red and gold, mostly taking on the shapes of roses and butterflies all over the place.

[ She pauses, considering this. ]
Though I'm afraid I have no memory of the Sixth Game. My last was the Fifth. Battler, the wonderful fool, tried to save the integrity of my game from Lambdadelta and Bernkastel and he failed. At that point, well... I took a well deserved rest, you might say.
I awoke here, thinking never to wake again.
[ She laughs again, as if the idea is just terribly amusing to her. ]
If there was a sixth game, then you know that I am no longer the master of the Rokkenjima Catbox. Or at least, I wasn't when I arrived here.

The stuff from before might not have gotten to Ange, but this part? It sure does. Not enough to get angry or anything, but she does finally seem caught off guard by something here, letting out a dreadful sigh that sounds like her very soul is trying to escape her body. ]
Seriously. Seriously?
[ Sorry, Beato.
Now the judgeyness is coming out. Because it's always there when it comes to matters that involve the relationship between this witch and her older brother. ]
Even though you don't remember that, you guys still-- [ Fell in love again. Still want to get married. Again.
Ugh. Ugh!! Ange absolutely does not want to think of sappiness between these two, no thanks! Who cares that this is her wedding, someone murder her. It's like thinking about your parents having sex. ]
.. gross.
[ A very elegant conclusion.
But, hey, at least Beatrice did get Ange to pout now. Congratulations. It just took a few moments longer than initially planned, apparently. ]

Look I can't explain it anymore than you can, really.
[ Though it's very amusing. ]
Part of it is that I was in part born out of a desire to be loved by Battler--it is part of my soul, because that is also what Sayo felt when I was born. I love him, and I'm lucky enough he chooses to love me in return.
[ Even with all of this mess. ]
I'm glad you think it's gross.
cw: (joking) mention of vomit
Stop, stop. [ Look, she's kind of aware that will only egg someone like Beatrice on more.
But on the other hand - what else is she supposed to do? It's like she's the wicked witch of the west, and every single sappy word that comes out of Beatrice's mouth is water, melting her.
It's too much. ]
I really don't need to hear even a single word more about what you and my brother have going on. I'll throw up.
[ So mature, Ange. Truly words worthy of a bride on this very special day.
(Hey, at least she's not trying to break them up, so that's.. something? She can whine and groan about it in return, right. It's her birthright as the little sister here.) ]
Re: cw: (joking) mention of vomit
Since it is your special day, I think I can restrain myself.

[ Look at her pouting. Yes - Beatrice definitely has claimed this victory here, because there's nothing Ange is weaker to than this stuff. It's absolutely the most powerful blade Beatrice could wield against her. ]
Or I'm going to tell onii-chan about what you are doing on my special day. It doesn't matter what you two have going on-- he still wouldn't be happy about you using him against me. [ And Beatrice knows it - or ought to know it, anyway. ]
no subject
You're right, he wouldn't be.
[ And her smile grows. This one is warm. Not the cackling grin of the evil witch. ]
He and I really are very happy for you, Ange.

It really is, right? After all, here Ange is sitting. Married, for one, which is already one of those things she just never even imagined for herself, if not just because she couldn't even envision a single future for herself at all. And then there's this witch of all people sitting here with her, patting her on the arm like that, smiling warmly.
If Ange didn't know any better, she'd say she was just dreaming a really strange and long dream.
But it's not a dream. ]
What's up with you.. [ It's not a real protest though. Not in the way Ange would usually protest to Beatrice of all people, anyway, when they usually don't hold back on bothering each other in the most catty ways.
No, this is mumbled. She's pouting, a hint of a blush on her cheeks, even though she ducks her head a little to try and hide it. ]
Suddenly saying sappy things like that.

You're family. I'm allowed to celebrate the happiness of my family on a day so dear to them, aren't I?
[ Okay, that might have been too much of a tease. Reel it in. ]
Besides, Battler has gotten to see you happy and content. That alone is enough reason for me, when we should by all rights have already exited the story.

[ -- so as to leave stories resting in the past, she means, of course. At first she thought that perhaps these places were like that, when she spent a year and a half in Deerington without even a single person from her world showing up there, but ever since she's traveled to Trench.. well, this place sure has proven her wrong in that belief.
These places will just drag in anyone, if their current track record is saying anything. ]
This is a different story altogether.
[ One where even Ange can find love, and a semi-normal life. One where Battler and Beatrice live on, despite that book having been closed years upon years ago in Ange's own time. ]

[ Beatrice agrees with that perhaps too easily, but it's so obvious that denying it seems foolish. In their original story, could they ever have reconciled? Could they have ever had this conversation? Would they sit here, calm and happy and needling each other over the Battler they both love more than they dare to speak? ]
I've not been in a story where I know so little about what comes next before, to tell the truth. It's a little terrifying. Exciting, though.

Well, that's how humans live.
[ Granted, Beatrice isn't human. The other is a personification of that witch, after all - way too many concepts rolled up into one figure, a legend, wish, desire and fear given shape. But that doesn't matter to this place, and Ange knows it. They're all equal in the eyes of Trench.
For better or worse. ]
Welcome to our level.

[ Beatrice smiiiiles, one of her too-wide, too-eager grins that seems to take up her whole face all at once. A reminder of the fact that she's not human, not in the least. ]
Dear Ange, you've been on my level all along. You're the inheritor of the title of Golden Witch. Where else could you be but my level?

[ It says something about how used Ange is to Beatrice - granted, she was used to this side of the witch for way longer already, ages before she arrived in Trench - that her tone doesn't even noticably change. Even in the face of the way the other looks right now, her tone is still so calm.
Like they're having a totally normal casual discussion about a trivial thing, rather than some philosophical conversation about being either a human or a witch. ]
I didn't really start to feel much like a witch until I ended up here. [ Until her powers seemed to grow. ] And even now.. I still feel way more like a human.
[ Though that's about to change, even if Ange doesn't know it.
Maybe she's actually jinxing herself here in this very moment. ]
