Sometime around the beginning of October invitations would have started to be sent out to the various people in Trench Ange and Ruby know - announcing the two girls' wedding at the end of the month.

When the day itself comes, people will find the location - the newly rebuilt Clockhouse, which some of the invitees may have helped rebuild in the first place - tastefully decorated. Some of the house's stranger features have been covered up by decorations in red and gold, mostly taking on the shapes of roses and butterflies all over the place.

[ Ange laughs, mostly just kind of amused by Luz's overenthusiastic talking. ]

Well, you have now, haven't you?

[ Don't worry, Luz. She appreciates it! ]

I guess I should thank you for coming. I didn't expect so many people to turn up for this.

[Luz couldn't help it. For one thing, she was happy this not another life-or-death situation with Ange: they were in a relatively peaceful setting. For another, while she loved the homeness of Vira and Minako's wedding, Ange and Ruby's had a bit of flair and opulence Luz admired just as much. There was an air of energy and beauty that had Luz unable to reign in her feelings]!

Yeah, and I'm sure the people here would agree with that!

Oh, of course! I'm just as glad I get to see it. Every time I see people here get married; it makes me think it's possible for a relationship to function in this world.

[entreats]

A lot of stuff is possible in this world.

[ .. It's a little optimistic by Ange standards. She's very much aware of that herself as she says these words, but.. on the other hand, Ange does believe in that. ]

I mean, I know this place sucks too. [ In so many ways. ] But for some of us, it's all we've got.

[ Ange isn't planning on ever going back to her own world if she can help it, anyway. ]

So we might as well do our best to make the most of it, one way or another. The fact that Ruby and I have been able to stay together all this time, no matter what, definitely proves to me that it's possible to make the best of it. [ Even if it might not always be easy.

But that's fine. Ange is used to working hard for her happiness at this point. It comes naturally. ]

That's true. It's easy to forget that when the world gets really hard on us.

[Luz knew that as enthusiastic as she tried to be, she'd sometimes allowed the worst of this place to creep up and take over on her. It wasn't the best thing for her, really, but she couldn't help how she felt about things depending on what was happening at that moment].

Yeah, that's true. In the end, what other choice do we have? Can't be miserable all the time, it'll just bring down the people around you, and they're dealing with things as best as they can too.

[A lesson Luz had begun to understand was different from everyone].

Yeah, I'm sure you guys had to go through some bad times yourselves, as evidenced by what happened with the house. But here you are, married and happy right now.

That should be a reminder to all of us that as bad as it gets, it can always get better too.

[ Ange nods at the end there. Maybe it is kind of ironic that they're getting married now of all times. Right after their house burned down and was rebuilt by everyone. It feels like some cliched end of a movie.

She tries to not think about that too hard - or just accept it, anyway. ]

I hope you can remember that too. [ Ange instead says.

Does she think Luz necessarily needs it? Maybe not. Luz seems to be - to some extent - naturally cheery. But anyone can use a little bit of hope in a place like this, she also figures. ]

No matter what happens during the upcoming months.

[ November was pretty brutal last year, after all. ]

[It was like having a whole new beginning! At least, that was what Luz was hoping it was like for Ange. So much had happened already, this was bound to make both her and Ruby pretty happy]!

I'm finding it a lot easier. I don't know if it's because of Lexi or because I'm getting out more again, but I am finding it easier to look at the brighter side of things again!

Heh, true. November wound up being the REALLY bad month, right?

[Those zealots. Which Luz got the chance to relive. Ugh].

Sure was.

[ Ange is trying to not think about it too hard right now, given the fact that November was pretty crappy for her last year, and her liking to avoid that fate this year..

But at the same time, there's no denying it, even though she tries to reply relatively casually. ]

But that's why we have to make it better this year. [ Somehow. ] We're ending October well now, after all.

[ With this wedding. Hopefully so the nice sentiment can be carried over into next month. ]

[Luz was trying to deal with all of that as clear headed as she could, mostly because she had to relive it last month, and she hadn't quite dealt with it properly back then.

And the possibility it might happen again was a bit frightening].

Right, exactly. Got to keep our spirits up, for whatever happens next month!
