[He understood all those words, but he can't make them line up in a way that make sense. Even accepting-]

If I have two sets of memories, one of them has to be a lie. [And Ben is here so that can't be the lie. Right?]

Capital City is on Lothal. But that's....not where we lived. [He shakes his head minutely.]

You and me, I mean. That was- [Why can't he remember? His brow furrows.] And I only ever really knew your stories-

No. I do remember my parents. I do. I told myself I'd never let myself forget what they looked like.

[jedies]

[ hmm. ]

Maybe not a lie. Maybe a puzzle piece we're missing.

[ezra_of_lothal]

[He sighs, long suffering, and then snaps-]

I'm not sure that this is a 'truth is what you make of it' moment.

[jedies]

I didn't mean to say it was.

[ obi-wan hesitates. ]

There are things you keep from me. Personal things. You've let it slip now and then, but never felt comfortable talking about it. I imagine those memories . . . might have something to do with it.

[ezra_of_lothal]

[Ezra flinches back, both because he immediately regrets snapping and what Ben is saying-]

No. I - why would I do that?

I trust you.

[With conviction ringing out into the Force-] There's no time and place that's not true.

[Although admittedly, he frowns a little, at his own phrasing, after the fact.]

[jedies]

[ obi-wan smiles. ]

I don't doubt that for a moment. But even with trust, there can be things that are too difficult to speak of.

[ezra_of_lothal]

[Ezra frowns a little.]

Ok. Then.

Do you know loosing memories is a thing that happens here, do you know if they ever come back?

[jedies]

If this is a facet of the month, then yes, they usually come back.

[ezra_of_lothal]

[The teenagers shifts uncomfortably.]

So...I have to just wait and hope?

[jedies]

[ his expression softens. ]

We can try to look for answers.

[ezra_of_lothal]

[Ezra's quiet for a moment. Then he sets his shoulders squarely.]

Ok. How do we start?

[jedies]

We'll have to ask around. Or post a question to the network. Someone is bound to know more.

Sometime later....

[ezra_of_lothal]

[There are, indeed, answers to be found. Ezra has so many questions as they look, but he keeps quiet about most of them, hoping that if he gets his memories back, everything will make more sense.

Because nothing much is making sense right now. But certainly some of the people they talk to seem to recognize him.

So. Find and destroy this...thing that might or might not be actually real? How are we supposed to do that?

[jedies]

[ hmm. ]

The Force will guide us. We can do it.

[ezra_of_lothal]

...what's the Force?

[Another weird Trench thing, he assumes.]

[jedies]

[ oh. that stops him short. ]

It's like . . . an energy field that surrounds us. That the Jedi can tap into for help.

[ezra_of_lothal]

Mom and Dad told me stories about them. They helped people. Right?

[He rubs at his forehand, because he remembers Ben telling him very different bed time stories.]

Aren't they all, um. Dead?

[jedies]

[ obi-wan does not wince, though his brow furrows. ]

Yes. Most of them are.

[ezra_of_lothal]

[That's not exactly inspiring confidence.]

So how can the Force help us?

[jedies]

[ that makes obi-wan smile faintly. ]

When you close your eyes and focus on your senses, what do you feel?

[ezra_of_lothal]

[He frowns a little at Ben, but...it's not like he hasn't been closing his eyes and sitting still, when he's alone, for a long time. Used to following feelings, no matter what's going on. He closes his eyes, with a murmur-]

It depends.

Right now, it's- [He takes a deep breath.]

Warm. [He shifts, turning his head, eyes still closed, and realizes his reorienting towards Ben.]

Wait. Is that you? You're...bright.

[jedies]

[ that prompts a smile. ]

The Force moves through me. As it does in all of us.

[ezra_of_lothal]

[He keeps his eyes closed while he mulls that over a moment.]

Is that - do you think that's where the bad feelings I get sometime come from, too?

That I should run. Or hide. Which way to jump.

[jedies]

Yes. They're warnings to help you with your instincts.

[ezra_of_lothal]

[Ben sounds so certain. Ezra opens his eyes and shoots him a weirded-out look.]

You're saying I have superpowers. And we can use them to fight the things that stolen my memories.
