[ wanda sighs. ]

So, it's the Trench being the Trench again.

[ peering down at his legs, she smiles and wrinkles her nose. ]

Are you feeling a little tinny?

Shut up.

( don't remind him of that. he doesn't want to be reminded of it. )

I don't want to deal with more of this shit.

[ she snorts. ]

You did make a cute tin man.

[ she smiles up at him, greatly amused by his, well... being amos about it. it's better than him being disgruntled by the laughing. ]

I even brought over some oil in case your knees were locking up.

[ holding out her hand, a little can full of oil appears. ]

At least I had some color in me.

( she'd started turning the color of a corpse. )

You were turning all kinds of weird colors.

[ she waves her hand dismissively. ]

I was an era of television.

[ there's a difference! ]

Although, it's a little disappointing we weren't from the same film. I could've been a very good Wicked Witch.

What film is that?

( safe to say he's not very pop culture savvy. )

Never thought of you as very wicked.

[ briefly, she wonders if amos is pulling her leg. and then she remembers he's amos. ]

Does Baltimore not have The Wizard of Oz?

[ notice how she doesn't ask if space doesn't have it? of all the places to have the wizard of oz, she fully believes space would. ]

It probably does but —

( he shrugs. )

I didn't watch a lot of movies when I was younger. You saw here I came from.

[ wanda clasps her hands together as she looks at him for a moment. ]

Would you watch it now?

Like...right now?

( when there's the sound of laughter ringing in his ear and annoying him? )

No! [ wanda laughs and waves her hand. she scrunches up her face and shakes her head. ] Later!

[ she shoves his arm for being so utterly ridiculous. if wanda thought that watching a movie would make the laughter go away, she'd have force-fed him popcorn five minutes ago. ]

We have more important things right now. [ placing her hands on her hips, she scrutinises the room. ] And your place is not very good for watching movies.

Right, later.

( maybe he'd be fine with a movie night later after he got the fucking laughter out of his head. )

I'm still hearing the stupid laughter. Who is laughing and what is so funny?

[ amos being aggravated is a little funny to wanda, but she does her best not to chuckle or smile. the last thing either of them needs is more laughter, even if they know where the source of it is this time.

instead, she crosses her arms against her chest and regards him with a tilt of her head. ]

Did you try and laugh? It might make it stop.

You want me to join in the laughter?

( she crosses her arms and he does the same, eyeing her. )

That sounds like you want something to laugh at, Wanda.

No!

[ wanda laughs then, an awkward sound. she doesn't uncross her arms despite feeling the urge to. instead, she sets her feet and juts her hips. she won't be intimidated! ]

Haven't you heard of the saying that if you can't beat them, join them? Sometimes laughing at the people who are laughing at us makes them stop.

So, you do it.

( except she just did. he makes a sound and forces out a laugh. )

Yeah, that didn't work.

( he could still hear the laughter. )

[ as soon as she snorts, she covers her mouth with her hand and clears her throat. it's rude to laugh at people... although that sound that came from amos was not a sound at all.

once wanda feels she's collected herself, she clears her throat a little more loudly and pulls her hand away from her face. ]

Was that supposed to be a laugh?

Are you joking my laugh?

( damn wanda. )

Why are we friends?

Because I'm likeable. [ wanda squints as she holds up her hand and begins counting down on her fingers. ] Because I'm funny. Because I'm tolerable. And I find you very amusing and not at all off-putting.

[ she smiles at him and wiggles the fingers that she's raised. ]

And you have a lame laugh no one else would appreciate but me.

Uh huh.

( he's really going to question why he hangs around you, wanda.

you're mean. )

You're a little likeable.

A little?

[ she cocks her brow slightly as she widens her smile. if she's meant to be offended, wanda most certainly isn't.

that's especially clear when she wrinkles her nose teasingly. ] How little? [ lifting her hand, she almost presses her index and thumb together as an indicator. ] This little?

Why are you annoying?

( so annoying. )

Always asking me for more and more and more.

[ she wrinkles her nose in amusement, hardly offended. ]

My brother would tell you it's because it's how I get attention. Or that it's all I know how to do.

[ she recalls it fondly, even if thinking pietro will always bring a twinge of sadness along with it. but he would list of various reasons why she was annoying. she was born very late. she's too short. she's wanda. ]

But I think it makes me memorable.

Your brother sounds like a smart man.

( you like attention, wanda. )

He knew what he was talking about.

[ with a fond smile, wanda shakes her head. ] He was very stupid and impulsive.

[ stupid enough to get himself killed, but heroic enough to save two lives. sometimes wanda wants to hate pietro for his decision, but if he didn't make that decision, he wouldn't be pietro. ]

I think if you had met him, you would have found me less annoying.
