And there's an added piece of information. It's not just that Oscar was randomly thinking about her.
He saw her. ]
Here?
[ Ange frowns, glancing around, but obviously she can't see a thing. ]
You're right. It's got to be this town pulling something strange again. [ Her tone sounds fairly sure of that, confident. ] Why else would she suddenly be here? It's got to be some illusion.

[Oscar said tightly, shoulders and gaze dropping while he held his hands close to his person. Guilt ate at him once more, for his role in her fate. Sure, it was no bigger than anyone else's-- but he, of all people, should have known better.]
She's dead, right? Sometimes Palebloods see ghosts. I wonder, do you think she's trying to say something?

It depends on the nature of her appearance here. If it's an illusion caused by the town or the Pthumerians here, then probably not. But if it's really some remnant of her, then there's a possibility.
[ Even if Ange isn't too sure what she'd be trying to tell him. Judging by the way Oscar speaks right now, she figures he might have a better idea than she herself does. ]
But I don't think there's an easy way to tell which of those options this is.

Wintertime always made him think of Julia. That was when he and Ozpin had trekked out into the mountains and left Julia cookies-- and how they met their Omens.]
...Times like this make me wish I was one of the Palebloods that could talk to ghosts.
[He said heavily, rubbing at his arms with his hands in his unease.]
Instead I'm just the guy that helps people talk to each other. It doesn't really help when we're dealing with ghosts.

[ It's meant to be reassuring, though it may be hard to tell from Ange's usual use of her relatively flat tone. The only thing that betrays her intention is the fact that her voice is a little bit more quiet as she says it, all potentially sharp corners cut off from it. ]
There are other Palebloods who can, right? [ She assumes so. Ange isn't sure if she knows one personally - none that brought it up to her, anyway - but if Oscar is mentioning it, maybe he knows someone like that. ] You could ask one of them to help you out. Aren't you good at that sort of thing?
[ Read: Ange definitely thinks he's more social than she is, for one. And sometimes he seems to drag people into friendship with such ease that Ange figures asking for help isn't so difficult for him. ]

[Ange had too much faith in someone who was amazed that someone like Ruby would call him a friend. Oscar had learned how to People, but a lot of that had been since he left the farm and started his Merger with the Wizard.
He glanced away, flustered.]
I don't know enough about everyone to know who can see ghosts around here, and it's a little awkward to tell someone I don't know that I'm seeing the ghost of a girl that I probably should take responsibility for.

She hates asking people for stuff too, after all. She hates going out of her way to interact with people beyond the circle she's comfortable with. It's a little more weird to see Oscar express the same sentiment, but.. ]
.. is it really that awkward? I mean.. ridiculous stuff happens here all the time.
[ Is she really trying to reassure him about something Ange herself would be majorly awkward about?
Yes. Yes, she is. She's allowed to be a hypocrite! ]
I don't think telling someone you see that is so weird when people see dead loved ones or headless monsters just about every other month. People will understand.

[Oscar said, unconvinced.]
This is kinda weird, even for Trench. Why would Julia wait a year and a half to show herself to people, if she was going to do it? What happened to do this?
no subject
It's just that she knows she's a particularly sceptical person, so she also knows her opinion is skewed in that sense. Other people may consider the possibility she's really here a whole lot more than she would. ]
But it's still Trench. Maybe there could be some weird reason none of us could guess, if it somehow really turns out to be her.
[ Even if Ange doesn't believe in it. Not right now, anyway. ]
no subject
But, if it's not her, [He ventured, looking up at Ange.]
What do you think it is?
no subject
I think it's nothing.
[ A momentary pause, and then she shakes her head to clarify: ]
Probably an illusion, just like a lot of the stuff the Pthumerians here tend to conjure up each month. They love reaching inside of people and confronting them with their fears, or their desires.. And I know there are some people here who'd definitely wish to see her again, or for her to be okay.
[ Ange herself is.. a little more indifferent on the matter, really.
But that doesn't mean she's stupid to what's obvious to notice. She knows there's people who care. People like Oscar. ]
