she tugs on his hand and pulls him back, using some of her strength to make sure he doesn't pull her outside. ]

[ with an unimpressed purse of her lips, she rolls her eyes. but it makes her feel better, having what feels like a moment of normalcy within a very strange situation. ]

[ it's probably for the best. she's not wearing her heels and if she goes high, she risks cutting his hair tips off. and she likes his hair tips.
katherine looks at the rolling pin. he can handle it, but she's stronger than him. should she have given him the knife instead? ]

the plant doesn't seem to realize that there's someone there and he tries to use that to his advantage, creeping closer but not attacking until katherine was out there. )
[ his journals are a great distraction. perhaps if he doesn't want to argue about them, he'll tell her where they are?

she'd prefer to be in her heels, but katherine's still lethal barefoot. glancing at stefan, she curls her lip up at the moving plant. maybe she'll tug all the plants out of the garden after this. but with her knife in hand, she doesn't sidle up to stefan. she tries to take a wider berth so that the plant's senses are torn in two. ]
I'm going in first since you've got the better weapon.
( and he doesn't give her any time to argue before he darts towards the plant, drawing its attention and jumping so he can bring the rolling pin down hard on some part of its body.
it bucks him away, sending him flying but he rolls to his feet quickly. )
luckily for katherine, she's been in enough random skirmishes not to freeze in her tracks. the moment he strikes, she follows, a little quicker on her bare feet as she manages to slice off a tentacle of its, well… she has no idea what the anatomy of a plant is.
but it oozes and smells and her fingers are a little sticky, but when she tries to slice at it again, it smacks her hard against the wrist. ]
Ow! You stupid plant!
[ she doesn't drop the knife, but it does fucking hurt. ]
( if this plant weren't trying to take the both of them apart, he might laugh at her exclaiming that about a plant. but he keeps his laughter to himself as he tries to get closer to her and smack at the plant.

[ and she does, almost slicing at stefan. it's a good thing she's quick. the plant may be slippery and fast, but she's over five hundred years old and run from faster, meaner and uglier things.
when she brings her arm down, the knife pierces one of its roots. liquid oozes from where she pierces it. ]
