[Reaper had taken his time with recovery, which left him trapped in his room for a few days. When it seemed that he could get around without having long episodes of shortness of breath, he appeared more downstairs. That's where he happened to be, settled into a chair with the other occupants of the house.

He knew they had questions, knew that most of them would have to do with Lance's outburst on the network. That wasn't the kid's fault; they didn't always control their Omens. And Lance had been circling the drain for years now, barely holding on. Not the kid's fault. For as long as he had known Lance, the kid had been teetering on the edge of a mental crisis.

However, this wasn't about Lance right now. This was about the household where he resided, and many of the youngsters who lived in it. As the eldest, he knew that his position here was the most tenuous.

So Reaper sat quietly, one ankle crossed over his other knee. He remained in comfortable black clothing, and while situations like these usually had him wearing his mask, he had decided against it. Instead, his scarred face was bare, though he kept his hood up to cover most of his white hair. His gloved hands were folded in his lap, thumbs clasping the mask that he would normally wear. Instead, it lightly tapped against his thigh.]

So, I suppose we should call this meeting to order, hmm?

[ she sighs. ]

Okay. If you say so.

[imaglyphwitch]

You know, if anyone or anything bothers you in the house, just let me or Fern or Varian know, ok? Luca's still getting used to things himself, and the three of us are the adults. Sort of.

[Ok, maybe Luz a little less, but she didn't really want to admit that].

[danserai]

[ literally none of them are adults . . . ]

I don't think anyone will bother me.

[imaglyphwitch]

[She SAID sort of]!

I don't think so either.

[It was the stuff outside the house Ahiru needed to worry about, but Luz would fill her in on that later].

[danserai]

Right. Then I'll just put my stuff in my room and get to know everyone . . .

[imaglyphwitch]

Sure, you do that!

And we need to start getting you some new clothes too, right?

[danserai]

Oh, right. I should really get more clothes . . .

[ important details she keeps forgetting. ]

And shoes, Ahiru. Don't want to really walk barefoot around here.

[Luz had made that mistake once. Never again].

[danserai]

Why, what's wrong with the floor . . . ?

We live with Varian and Fern.

That pretty much says it all right there.

[danserai]

. . . But it actually doesn't??

[imaglyphwitch]

Have you seen their rooms? Fern is constantly bringing sharp things into the house all the time, and Varian is like, experimenting on stuff in the house all the time.

Wear shoes, Ahiru. It's just a good idea.

[Never mind they're going to get Rapunzel who is ALWAYS barefoot].

[danserai]

[ she hasn't seen them but now she's afraid to . . . ]

O-Okay. I'll wear shoes.

[imaglyphwitch]

Thanks. It's just safer that way.

[Not everyone could have Fern's clawed feet].

[danserai]

And we should all be safe!

[imaglyphwitch]

Right!

Don't worry, the guys mean well, they're just a little absentminded when it comes to safety.

[danserai]

Boys are like that.

Some boys sure are!

Actually, the ones here are like that for completely different reasons. It is kinda funny though, since one of them is from the far future and the other is from a time past my own.

I guess they're the same everywhere.

Not true! Luca is actually pretty neat!

Granted, he also doesn't have a LOT of stuff either. This house is originally Varian and Fern's.

[ well considering luca is a fish the way ahiru is a duck?? it checkls out that he's a little different. ]

Fakir's house is neat but he also gets very hung up about swords and space . . .

[Boy, that would be something sad to be said about boys if that were the case, but Luz was sure this was an exaggeration].

Does he have a special place for his swords and what not?

Probably! He's a knight so he always has one somewhere.
