June Brides
Who: Makoto Kino, Usagi Tsukino, or Anyone that would like to attend
What: Wedding between two friends
When: June 15
Where: Garden of the Pink Monstrosity (Usagi & Makoto's house)
Content Warnings: Will be posted as needed in top levels and comments.
It had been just over a month since their announcement, since the night that Makoto had looked into Usagi's eyes and asked her to be with her here as long as they could. For the two of them to form a different, deeper bond, than the friendship and partnership that they had as friends and senshi. Today was the day that Makoto had dreamed about for so many nights through the years, being a June bride and becoming the perfect bride. The night was quiet compared to the prior weeks' chaos with the hurricane. The skies are clear with a silver crescent moon hanging overhead.
They had opted for a later ceremony so that more might be able to make it, and to allow for the temperature to cool a little, but mainly because it felt right to confess their love for one another under that moon. Among the stars and with their friends that came from so many different worlds and galaxies, and yet they had all been drawn together, the same way that Makoto and Usagi had always been drawn to one another.
Preparations:

There are several who offered to help with the preparations that were left the day of, wiping down tables, setting up chairs, checking strings of lights, candles to be lit, and of course, the cooking since the bride-to-be had been barred from the kitchen.
Even though she wasn't supposed to Makoto could be caught and shooed off every so often, and Usagi marveled at all of it and would have to be reminded about her own list of things to prepare herself. Both of them needing to do the standard hair, make-up, dress, and pictures. But both were just so happy and had too much energy to stay inside very long.
Mingling & pre-ceremony:

Welcome guests, as they arrived, would be several opportunities to pass the time before the nuptials, including a photo station with a moon and castle, light hors d'oeuvre to tide them over until the reception dinner, a chance to sign a guest long and of course mingle with the other guests and finding their seat. The selection of snacks ranged from chocolate-dipped strawberries to small cakes, and other sweets along with fresh fruits that were carved cutely into bunnies and other shapes.
The ceremony:

As the sun set, the ceremony began with Usagi emerging in her flowing gown that seemed to almost float along with her as she walked down the aisle, the light catching every petal of the dress and seeming to almost glow, along with the beauty of Usagi's own skin. And soon after she was followed by Makoto in a laced gown that hugged her a little closer and then drifted out as her long legs strode slowly up the aisle, hands holding the bouquet of flowers that had been selected. Her hair flowed freely down her back. The ceremony began once both were ready and present, Makoto taking Usagi's hand and starting the vows.
Reception:

Once the ceremony was over, there was of course the matter of the cake and the reception. Once the vows and the rings had been exchanged, Makoto and Usagi made their way with their friends to the reception where the first order of business was to cut the wedding cake. A large multilayer cake that had been prepared by Snow White. The green ribbon and the roses matched the colors and the decorations that were used throughout the ceremony and that were very much reminiscent of Makoto and Usagi. The inside was just as much a blend of the two; vanilla frosting, vanilla cake, and then a layer with chocolate filling and one strawberry jam filling. It certainly made for an interesting first bite between the brides feeding each other the initial piece. And a small impromptu second kiss to get a bit of runaway jam.
Of course with the cake there was dinner! As well as drinks of all kinds for all ages, and more desserts. And to work off all of the sweets, was the dancefloor which had been set out, along with a pretty interesting selection of music which they'd managed to find in the last month, including a few live performances here and there.
Both brides can be found at the reception, mingling among those who came, thanking them for everything and celebrating how wonderful the night was going.

The Vows: Closed to Usagi and Makoto
no subject
"Usagi,
I pledge my love to you, everything that I have and am I give to you. From the first bite of my bento box on my first day new, to every ounce of strength that I have for when you need it most. We may have always been drawn together by fate or destiny, but there is no one else that I would rather be drawn to. No other light that I would rather bask in, than the light that comes from your eyes and your smile.
Even before I knew what fate had in store for us, I found myself jumping headfirst for you. You have always seen me for who I am, and call me beautiful even when most were afraid of the unknown. You are the one that gave me the courage and strength to believe in love, to see that it was more than a cheap paperback fantasy that I was never destined to know. You opened my eyes and helped me to open up to others, all the friends that I have and allies that we’ve made began with you, a strange girl who wasn’t attention to her surroundings.
But I promise that I will, I will be the one to watch out for the dangers that present themselves. The threats that might come, I’ll keep away. Just so that you can continue to smile and spread the light that shines so brightly from your heart. Each day I will try to make a cake as sweet as your kiss, something that can keep you full even as you run from one place to the next. I will keep flowers and a garden just as lively and beautiful as you are to me.
With this, no matter how much time passes, I vow that I will always do everything I can to be by your side. Because you are Usagi Tsukino, my closest friend, my light in the darkness, and the one that I love."
Makoto carefully slipped the ring onto Usagi's finger as she finished the vow. And then waited for Usagi's response.

This exact moment. Whether or not things were perfect, they FELT perfect. Makoto was perfect. Everything faded away as she focused only on Makoto. She was trying desperately not to cry, which was quite the task, emotional crybaby that she was. When Makoto slipped her ring onto her finger, her tears fell silently and she wiped them away quickly, fanning her eyes so as to not ruin her makeup, smiling brightly.
Her turn.
"Makoto,
The day I first met you, you prevented me from being roadkill in the crosswalk. Ever since then, every moment with you, I have gotten to be a part of, or witness your beauty, strength, kindness, and tenderness. You are someone that anyone and everyone can turn to, you have a soothing presence and aren't afraid to immediately step in to defend those you love. Being drawn to you? It just made sense, because of course I was drawn to you. How could I be anything other than drawn to you?" she smiled, blushing.
"You have always been there for me, protecting me, supporting me, and being one of the best friends a girl could ask for. You have always been so amazingly strong and yet so wonderfully gentle. You have helped me mature and become who I needed to be, and when I didn't want to, you were there, letting me cry on your shoulder or nap in your lap," she grinned, not embarrassed about her sleeping habits. "I have had the utmost privilege and honor to see you blossom like the roses you so adore. You aren't just stronger, but you're more confident, more patient, and even more wonderful than the first day we met.
I promise that I will always be there beside you, never giving up no matter how hard things get. I will always listen to the fears and worries that might darken your day and try to help shine a light through them. And if we can't make the storm clouds go away, then I'll be there to weather the storm with you. I promise I will always be your eager taste tester, your biggest cheerleader, and the one to help you face anything that comes our way. I would not be the woman I am today, if I did not love you and was loved by you as much as I am. With this," Usagi pulled out Makoto's ring and slipped it onto her finger. "I vow, Makoto Kino, to always try and be the friend you need, the person you can turn to, and the woman you know who will love you completely, unabashedly, and unconditionally. I love you."
Usagi didn't wait after that, she jumped up and wrapped her arms around Makoto, kissing her enthusiastically and deeply.

III Reception
"Ochako-san! Hi!"
It had been a little wheeling and dealing to get her perfect perfect outfit, but luckily Luz had found the time! She;'d even moused her hair up!
"When did you come back?!"
no subject
"Luz-san!! It's so good to see you again!" she laughs, taking in that delightful outfit. It's so cute and pink! "I arrived back in May with Kat--eh, Bakugou. I showed up a day after he did."
no subject
"Same, same! I thought you'd left for good! You look amazing by the way, not that you're surprised I bet! How long have you been back?"
no subject
"I think about a month now? Maybe a little longer, and thank you!!" she twirls a little, making the dress flutter around her a tiny bit. "I got this for a Hero Gala back home. N-Not the same one exactly, but I had the design remade here, ehehe. Your suit is so cute, too!! I love how colorful it is - so pink! It suits you very well, Luz-san."
no subject
"Awesome! I can't believe I've missed you all month! But at least you're here! It's great to see you again!"
Luz chuckled, striking a pose. "Thank you, thank you, You look great too, it's super adorable! Ha ha, a gala! Kinda wish we had one here."
no subject
"Ehehe, well, it took a lot of work to clean our old house. Deku-kun said he took care of it as best he could, but I know he has more things to worry about than cleaning an empty house... We also had to pretty much restock the pantry and do a lot of laundry." All their clothes and bedsheets...they were musty and gross. "It was a lot of work, so that's probably why you didn't see either of us very much..."
It felt a lot like how it did when they had to move into the dorms from their homes back in her world. Ochako never had much, but still. It's a chore.
no subject
"He does. Midoriya-san tends to do a LOT, and I'll bet he needs help more than most people know. But why didn't you ask me for help? I would have been happy to give you a hand! I...kinda haven't had a female friend my age to do stuff with other than my girlfriend, and..."
Luz showed her the ring.
"...Now we're a little more serious!"
no subject
"Heeh...tell me about it," she complains, quietly. "I don't want to tell him what to do or not do, but I really just want him to take better care of himself from time to time. I know that's what he struggles with most of all, though." Thankfully, with Paul and Daniel-sensei still here as well, he's at least been looked after. Same with Todoroki, too.
"Eh, it really wasn't that big a de--EEEEH?!" Oh my gosh!! Does that mean what she thinks it means?! Ochako's eyes go wide, and she snaps her head up and down, gaze flitting between Luz and the ring and back. "Wh-Wh...omigosh!! That's amazing! Is it a promise ring, o-or...?!"
Isn't Luz around her age??? OR SOMETHING??
no subject
And yes, being a squid was much better than being in a cocoon.
"I know we can't all be a hero like him, but maybe that's a good thing. After all, I think we're all heroes in our own way. Some are stronger than others, some are more apparent at how they can help, but in the end, we're all trying to do our part!"
Ooh. Right. Explain, Luz!
"Well recently, we decided we wanted to be closer, so we made one of those blood pacts, where we can hear each other's thoughts. Because of how intimate that is, we decided to have a ceremony with a small amount of people, and so we kinda treated it like our own little wedding."
It sort of was and sort of wasn't. Did that make sense?
"I don't regret a thing though. I just wished you could have seen it!"
no subject
"Mm, you're right completely. That's actually something really important to remember. Every one of us has a part to play, and we can be Heroes in our own way - with or without quirks. Saving someone can have a wide variety of definitions, and it's not reserves solely for people, either. Places, items of import, animals, nature...all of it needs saving sometimes."
But aah, enough about that stuff! Ochako wants to know more about that ring! Is it really what she thinks it is? N-No way, right? I mean, it's not like she and Katsuki haven't all but promised themselves to each other, but it was never really official so--...oh. Oh, my so it was like a mock wedding. Oh gosh, that's so sweet. Ochako coos, holding her flushed cheeks.
"Uwaah, that's so cuute...like practice for the real thing. So romantic!! You're lucky you have a partner that's so down to earth and calm, Luz-san. I don't think I'd want to share thoughts with Katsuki...even though I love him more than anything." That poor guy has so much on his mind all the time, beyond just DIE DIE KILL MURDER DIE. Ochako's pretty sure her head would explode if she had to have her and his thoughts in it at one point.
"Ooh...I wish I could have, too! I'm sorry I missed it. Was it recently? Or a while back? If you have pictures, you have to let me see them sometime!"
no subject
"Exactly! We need each other in this place to start, and we all have skills that others might lack. For instance, even thought I like reading and studying, I couldn't be a scribe like, say, Luca, since I'm pretty certain I want to continue my path to becoming a bonafide witch!"
Then again, she owned a bookshop with Lexi anyway, so what did Luz know? She might become a scribe yet!
"Heh, I remember how intense Bakugou is, I can understand how you'd want to keep your distance there. The mind sharing thing was something we talked about awhile before we decided to do it, and yeah, it did feel a little like getting engaged! But Lexi's become so important to me, so I don't mind being vulnerable for her, and she feels the same way."
She chuckled. "It was last month! It was pretty small, but we had a water slide and everything! It was pretty fun!"
no subject
"Oh, that's right!! Uwaah, you need to show me some more magic sometimes, too! And I'll take you for a spin in Zero G with my quirk, ehehe! I haven't gotten to really train it since coming here, so it'd be fun for us both."
She laughed deeply, then took a sip of a drink as a caterer passed with a tray. No alcohol for Ochako, she learned her lesson at her own party, but sparkling cider and juices hit the spot just as well.
"That's wonderful...I'm so happy for you both, congratulations!! It must be so nice trusting each other like that, and opening yourselves to the other, too." And while it's not something Ochako personally would do, she respects those that would take it upon themselves to partake. If they feel comfortable and confident enough, then by all means. "Eeeh...then I did miss it. I think me and Katsuki arrived at the end of last month, closer to June. But that all sounds sooo much fun!! I'm so happy for you both!"
no subject
"Zero G?! Wow! Yeah, you DO have to show me that! I've actually been training a little more with Paimon, the person in Peter! Also, I kinda got possessed by an evil Sith lord a few months back, so I might have...probably picked up something? I hope not."
Luz didn't even want to think about that. Also, Cider RULED, especially if you had it fresh and dark!
"Thanks! I wish you could have been there, it was one of the best days I've had in a while! I know its not for everyone though. I mean sure, some people can do it and its very meaningful, but I get that it's not the easiest thing, to share that much with someone."
no subject
And honestly? It's for the better. As much as Ochako adore her friend, he's simply too much in his own head for her to sort of slot in comfortably. He has things he needs to work on, things he needs to change. Ochako is much happier being Deku's friend than she is fawning over a romance that was doomed from the start.
"Ehehe, of course!! It's really just making use of my quirk, but it's really fun to go up high sometimes, and my boots and wires let me propel and maneuver now." There's also little latches on her wrist guards that are specifically for people to hold onto and free up her hands, so. "Ah...eh? I-I see. It seems I missed a lot before coming back here, ahaha..."
Definitely of the less enjoyable things about Trench - the craziness. And how things can turn dark or go south at the drop of a hat. Definitely did not miss that at all.
"Mm, well...if you're both comfortable, and happy with the decision, it's yours to make, ne? It's not my or anyone else's place to say anything otherwise, y'know? But I know there's things both me and Katsuki want to keep to ourselves, and I respect that, so it's probably not for us. ...Buuut that doesn't mean I don't want to see pictures of the ceremony!! Ah, that's right, I should be taking pictures of the reception here, too!" Brb, she's fishing in her little side purse for a disposable.
no subject
"I have two different ways to fly, but I'd still like to do it like you do! I still need to rely on other things to make that happen, but you? You can do it all on your own!"
Here Luz just laughed. "Look, miss some of the crazy stuff, come back for the good stuff! And don't worry, we DO have some pictures, although I'm pretty wet in some of them. I wasn't going to miss a water fight, dedication ceremony or not!"
She nodded, smiling. "I get that. It's a big decision, and not one to make lightly. Not everyone can get into a person's head and be fine with it."
no subject
"Ehehe, well, technically mine isn't really flying. If I didn't have all my Support Gear, it'd just be floating around. That's how Zero Gravity works, after all - both my quirk and the actual thing. I added the additions to my suit for movement."
It wouldn't really be all that helpful for her being a Rescue Hero if she could get to someone as quickly as possible, right? The additions were a necessity, and Hatsune-san actually did a really good job with the specs. She's...eccentric, but reliable. Hopefully she, any everyone else, is doing okay...
"No lie, I'm actually really happy I came back to things being, well...about as 'normal' as Trench can be, but so many nice things happening, or have happened! I'd really love to see those pictures sometime, and we need to catch up in general. I'm going to be busy for the next few weeks - it's, um...i-it's my and Bakugou's anniversary at the end of June, hehe. B-But after that, I'll be free!" Until Deku's birthday party mid-July, but you know.
"Mm, it just depends on the person, I think. Bakugou's more private than most people, and I respect that. He doesn't have to tell me everything if it makes him uncomfortable. I trust him no matter what - just like you and your girlfriend, Luz-san. You trust her in a different way, and that's still beautiful. Ne, but let's get some snacks or something, I'm getting hungry again!"
no subject
A year ago, it was coming HERE, so who knew what was going to happen next?
"Either way, I do sort of wish I could be floating myself! But then again, I guess I've gotten pretty used to that being managed by the staff anyway. So for you, its the suit that keeps you from floating away. It's still pretty neat though!"
Luz chuckled and clapped her hands together. "No way! I'll have to make sure to get you guys something at the end of the month then! It's really nice that these relationships persist even when the world around us can be pretty difficult."
Relationships, after all, took work, and with all that happened, either eventually ended or just allowed those involved to mature with the world around them.
"Good point! And honestly, I just can't wait to continue living with and learning more about her anyway! Oh, and I've seen the snack spread. I think I'll join you!"
gonna wrap here!! ♥
"Mm, a little bit, yeah." Ochako nods. "When I'm floating, I'm pretty much at the mercy of any wind currents or updrafts unless I release my quirk myself. That can be dangerous, so I added an upgrade to my costume's boots to include some jet boosters in the heels for movement."
Oh goodness! Laughing again, the young brunette holds up her hands and shakes her head, a little embarrassed by the declaration. That wasn't--...jeez, she really doesn't have to get her anything!! It's really not a big deal (it is, she's very happy about it), and she and Katsuki are probably only going to hang out like they usually do, or something...
"You really don't have to!! Just a card and some well wishes is fine!" She really doesn't need much anyway...and isn't used to getting gifts like this, either. It's very sweet, but she feels a little embarrassed, too. "Mm, then let's take a look before it's all gone, ne?"
Ochako offers her hand, tugging Luz along to get some tasty treats. What a wonderful day...her cheeks are going to hurt by the end of it from smiling so much. ♥
That's good! Thanks for the thread! It's fun to do them again!
III Reception
Managing to catch the younger girl between dances and plates, and tissues, Makoto smiled and offered a small bow.
"Thank you for coming, and for all of your help. You helped to make tonight unforgettable."
no subject
"Thank you so much for having me!! It's been a lot of fun, and I'm so happy to have helped, so please don't think too much of it, ehehe. It's the least I could do to make sure the night was perfect for you two."
Luz Noceda | The Owl House |OTA
Since Luz had already had HER ceremony and had taken part in Vira and Minako's, it felt only right to try and help along her fellow friends/sapphics, particularly when she'd known them since Deerington!
Since cooking looked as if it were covered, Luz opted for doing the hanging of the lights! She thought she'd give Owlbert some time to enjoy the party on his own though, so don't be surprised if you see a crow with a cowboy hat happily stringing up lights and then reemerging as a striking and silly looking sixteen year old girl!
Mingling!
Luz is signing the guestbook and leaving a gift at the table, hoping the happy couple would like Moon goblet giftset she'd gotten for them. She's trying to look as dignified as she possibly can, as she was a total adult and had done her own ceremony and was very grown up.
And then she notices the bunny fruits.
"AWW, look at these! They're so cUUTE!"
Reception!
I. Once the ceremony is over and Luz is done crying about how beautiful Makoto and Usagi looked, she couldn't help but want to give them a good send off! She makes sure to set off some small fireworks via her light glyphs. They were light and not too loud, though they did bewitch the sky with fluorescent rabbits and roses, and chibi versions of her friends' faces.
II. Luz had opted to bring her plus one, her bonded. Lexi Howard, to the party and was trading dancing with her and anyone else who wished to match technique with Luz's happy feet! She'd had a little food and cake, but Luz's real passion was the dance floor right now, and with her smashing outfit, Luz was intending on making an impression!
Reception
"There you are. I can't thank you enough for everything, tonight has been a dream come true because of your help."
And it had, the whole day and night had been so much more than Makoto had dreamed actually. And there had been several points where she'd just been unable to tell if it wasn't just a dream. She quickly pulled Luz in for a hug,
"Thank you."
Re: Reception
"I was just trying to make this fun for you guys, and you looked AMAZING! Usagi and you looked so pretty, and the vows were just...ah, wow! I'm so happy I'm here to see it!"
Yes, Luz appreciated Makoto's thanks, but Luz was still so overwhelmed to see two of her friends making such a sacred commitment to each other.
Luz hugged back, squealing slightly.
"But enough of my yakking! Tell me, how do you feel?!"
Vira-Lorr | OTA (No CW tonight.)
Vira-Lorr wasn't missing this little shindig for the world. She felt very slightly awkward over a few things in her personal life lately, but she was going to be there for both Makoto and Usagi. It was a moment of joy in the difficulties of this place, and she hated skipping out on those. She showed up for the event early, having made a few promises to help and wanting to be unfashionably early anyway. Dressed in one of the ao dai she liked most with a pair of white gloves to go with, she smiled as she helped move the chairs into place and double check the lights.
She was easy to spot, and she might, just maybe, have been watching to make sure that Makoto... and for that matter Usagi weren't somehow trying to show up and help out themselves. Durned it, this was their night, and she was absolutely willing to shoo them back so they could have it.
Ceremony/Reception
Vira-Lorr was crying a little during the ceremony. Luz had managed to have a bonding rite recently, and now both Usagi and Makoto were here, exchanging vows. It was... honestly, it was a lot. She was very happy for them both and it showed in the way that she beamed. Her right hand occasionally strayed to rub at her left, but she'd catch herself doing it from time to time and smack it lightly, brushing it away and just enjoying the moment.
In the reception, she was in high spirits. A tiny touch up to her make-up to clean a little bit from the ceremony and she was there amongst everyone, clearly enjoying herself. Her outfit didn't lend itself well to dancing, but it was easy to get a moment with her during the actual dinner. If you really wanted a dance, it was absolutely easy to provide under the circumstances. She was just sticking to the slow ones so there was no tripping over herself.
Throughout the evening, she was almost all smiles. This was their night, and she was not about to cause anything to interfere with that.
Reception
Walking up, Makoto took Vira-lorr's right in hers for a moment and gave it a squeeze, coming up next to her.
"I'm glad that you're here. Thank you for the help and making tonight a dream come true."
She knew it couldn't have been easy without Minako there. And that it must have been a challenge.
no subject
She shelved her worries, just grinning from ear to ear. All the rest could wait. "It's good to be able to share a time like this with friends, and you and I have been through quite a lot together haven't we?"
