[Kaeya flashes a grin before ducking down to check out how the restraints are fastened. Not locked, so that's helpful. He can at least get Yuri free in short order.
Getting out of here is another matter entirely, but one step at a time. He steps back to allow Yuri room to sit up, but will offer the other man a hand when he goes to stand. He looks, well, rough. And Kaeya gets that. The first time he found himself here with Diluc, he'd been bled as well, and it took a lot out of him.]
Take it easy getting up. We want you steady before we get moving, since I doubt we'll be allowed to just stroll along unhindered.
[ He doesn't take his time at all. In fact, he can't get free fast enough, and lurches up despite the head rush, grabbing Kaeya's hand to steady himself. He pushes away from the table that's been his prison, stumbling on unsteady legs, his tunic open around his torso. At least the blood from his cuts is freezing in places, at least. ]
Real heroic. Shit.
[ He braces a hand on his thigh to try and steady himself, his head swimming, limbs weak, but he won't let himself collapse ]
If only. Maybe they'll say, oh, wow, good job, you got free, here's the exit.
[Kaeya lends Yuri as much support as he needs until he's confident the other man has his feet solidly underneath him.]
I was here before...
[He begins, frowning.] Diluc and I woke up strapped down like you were. I'd love to say we discovered a secret way out, but something snatched us out of here unexpectedly. Moon Presence, I think.
[So maybe they'll get lucky again. Or...] While I'm all for hoping for the best, to hedge our bets, maybe our fallen friend here can provide some info. [He nudges the zealot he knocked out with the toe of his boot.]
Same thing happened to Flynn. Just, poof. Whisked away.
[ Leaving Yuri behind to figure out what the hell to do on his own. Clearly, it didn't go that well.
He's still wobbly, but he drops down to help Kaeya heft the zealot onto the table. It takes a lot out of him, his face pale and drawn when he's done, panting hard, even if he tries to hold it back ]
Shit. Okay, so we wait for him to wake up?
[ Yuri doesn't exactly what to wait around for any of them to come looking for their friend, but maybe it isn't that type of organization ]
Well, maybe we'll get lucky again with the poof option. But we can't count on that.
[Kaeya will take a moment to secure the zealot. But Yuri brings up a valid point.] Maybe I shouldn't have hit him so hard. Ah well. Can't say I regret it.
[A frown.] At least he's secured now. That'll buy us time. We can try to work our own way out.
[Kaeya waggles his wrench.] Maybe we can menace the next bastard we come across to get ourselves a guide to the door.
[ Even if Yuri doesn't know how helpful he'd be in a fight right now. His limbs feel weak, his mind foggy, but he can stick by Kaeya's side, and worst thing is that he dies. He'll come back.
Probably.
He jerks his head away from the guy, and immediately regrets it when his head swims ]
There're plenty of them. One's gotta tell us something.
[ He hadn't even thought of interrogating one of them, before, just immediately attacked ]
[Kaeya is not in bad shape, this time, and he's pissed, so that'll carry him for a while anyway. He also doesn't intend to let Yuri die here. Who knows what these monsters would do to with a dead body here.
But for now he steps back and insinuates himself by Yuri's side and half under his arm, slipping his own behind the other man's back.]
Then we've got a plan. Let's go.
[Kaeya keeps his voice light, but this entire place has him entirely on edge and disturbed.]
[ A small part of Yuri balks at being helped, but... he'd rather get out of here with or without his pride. Pride isn't that important, in the end.
Yuri doesn't bother responding, instead putting his effort into walking.
They make it down a hallway, then another one, before more than the ambient sounds of the tower around them seep in. There are foot steps and low voices and Yuri tenses, summoning up any energy he has to take on whatever this fight is.
He glances up at Kaeya, to make sure he hears it to. To make sure that he's ready to take them on. Yuri will do his best, but he doesn't know what that is right now. ]
[Injured pride heals faster than the dead-squid-alive cycle, so they can risk it. Kaeya, for once, is all business, quiet and careful as he moves. Quips can wait for when they aren't deep in enemy territory, weakened and barely armed.
He hears the sounds of voice and movement ahead, and he catches Yuri's gaze and nods. He hears it. And he's ready.
He ducks out from where he's helping steady Yuri and tests the magic in his blood. It stirs faintly, but nothing comes. Fuck. Still recovering from his own second blood-letting. Fine. They do this the old fashioned way.]
These people are like us. [He murmurs, lowly, voice hushed and urgent.] Sleepers. Their blood magic is strong, and ours is currently fucked. So we're going to need to strike fast.
[If they can take out one completely and incapacitate another maybe they can get themselves a guide out of this place. Kaeya readjusts his grip on his wrench and inclines his head. The voices and footsteps are coming closer, and it is go time. Kaeya throws himself around the corner, swinging, unleashing a barrage of quick, repeated blows on the closest zealot, hopefully before the second has too long to react.]
[ Yuri can only nod at the words, steeling himself. There isn't much mana in the air, but what there is, he pulls in. Mana might be easier to use right now than blood magic, which hurts and pulls at the twin cuts all along his body if he even thinks about it.
Not enough blood, but he has enough to use anything-- his hand, maybe?-- to control his artes. He darts after Kaeya, his head swimming, and goes for the second zealot, pushing himself up onto the air and slamming down on him with a fist, hammering on his shoulder ]
Destruction field!
[ Flames ring out around them, and the zealot lets out a hissing cry, and tries to make for Yuri. He manages to push Yuri back, but Yuri catches himself on his feet, ready because he can use everything he has left if it means he can get the hell out of here and make sure that Blue and Flynn are okay.
It's quick work, if dirty work, and Yuri only remembers at the last moment that Kaeya wants one of them alive. He kneels on the zealot he fought, the guy's face pressed into the ground, Yuri's knee digging into his back, using all his strength to hold his hands behind his back.
His voice is low and hoarse when he calls out: ] Kaeya. Ask him.
[Kaeya takes down the opponent he's facing with a well-placed crack of the wrench -- surprising himself when ice races along the length of it, strengthening the blow. Okay. Blood's awake. That's pretty good.
He turns to see how Yuri is faring and ah.]
Nicely done.
[Keeping one conscious because Kaeya did not rein himself in quite enough. But this works for him. He reaches into his blood once more and this time ice builds along the tool into a wicked blade, frozen and menacing. He slides it straight up under his chin.]
We have a few questions. So let's have a nice chat, or the blood that'll be spilling this time will be yours.
[The zealot snarls.] Go to hell.
[Kaeya presses the ice blade more firmly against his neck.] Tsk... not a good start. Let's try again. Where's the exit?
[ Yuri's strength is fading, but he holds on as best he can, focusing on holding the guy so Kaeya can interrogate him. But at that answer, Yuri digs his knee in harder, pulling on the guy's arms ]
He said, where's the exit?
[ He grates it out, and the zealot gasps under his weight ]
No exit. Have to sacrifice.
[ Yuri growls, yanking harder ]
What the hell does that mean?!
[ The zealot laughs, and Yuri wants to smack the guy. For what they did to him, for what they did to Flynn, and Lysithea, and, probably, Kaeya ]
Sacrifice to the Tower. Then, maybe, he'll let you out.
[Though Kaeya asks the question, some part of him is certain he already knows, and even the thought leaves a leaden feeling of nausea dropping into the pit of his stomach.
The zealot laughs again and the sound is discordant, like it can't quite decide whether to be a low chuckle or a high pitched manic laugh and it vacillates wildly between the two irregularly.]
Blood. Organs. Proper sacrifices.
[Kaeya shudders.] Is that so? [That's a steep price for exit. And the darker part of him is wondering if this twisted, sadistic asshole would suffice.]
[ Part of Yuri shutters at that. Of course it's blood and organs. This place is obsessed with blood, and these people even more. He growls ]
Where? Where do we do it?
Altar, up stairs.
[ Yuri's pretty sure that's all the information they need, and the anger is swirling in his gut. He brings his elbow down on the zealot's temple, and they lose consciousness. He gets up, limbs weak under him, and looks at Kaeya ]
Guess we have our marching orders, unless that lady wants to be nice and get us the hell out of here.
no subject
[Kaeya flashes a grin before ducking down to check out how the restraints are fastened. Not locked, so that's helpful. He can at least get Yuri free in short order.
