( Levi isn't the most personable and friendly sort of guy; this is demonstrated in full when he approaches Dean. He's seen him around some, but hasn't had anything to say to him yet. )
Hey. Can I ask your help with something.
( He's getting better at this whole people thing ... sort of. It comes out more like a statement than a question. )
002. ⁞ bad loves company // willful machine.
( There's someone who bumps into him from behind, brushing past quickly. He reaches down and grips their wrist. )
That was a piss-poor attempt.
( But then he realizes that there's no wallet in the other's hand, and he quickly drops their arm. )
Ah. Sorry. I've been ... dealing with pick pockets left and right lately.
003. ⁞ nerve // farther shores.
( He finds some blades washed up on the shore.
He doesn't make a habit of coming here, but he might now, if the shores really do wash up with things from home. He slips the plug-in blades into his holsters, kept at the hips. ... And then he notices a bucket and mop a few yards away.
It's definitely for him. )
... Really.

[She leaned over to have a look at them, eyebrow raising for just a moment while her arms crossed. There was a bit of a dubious element to her look, like she was trying to scrutinize something just by looking at them.]
These aren't normal Earth mushrooms or from my world. Which means they're Trench natives. I wonder if they're safe.
no subject
( He knows someone who is, though. He thinks of them and his heart thuds a little out of something like saudade. )
You know where I could learn what these are? I'm kind of curious now.
no subject
Perhaps one of the locals. As long as these are naturally occurring to this world, they may have run across them before.
no subject
People are going batshit over the mushrooms from what I've seen. Can't imagine why. Thanks, though.
no subject
But there's a few dangerous ones out there, I'm sure, and someone wants to figure them all out. [Including her.]
no subject
( He nods and considers the mushrooms in hand.
He takes a wild guess, then: )
Is that someone you? You seem ... interested.

Based on what she has seen so far, she is one of the luckier ones.
When Levi approaches her, Laurel gives him her full attention. ]
Hi. [ She remains quiet as well. ] No, I don't. I've never seen it before.
no subject
( He tenses slightly at the sounds above, looking toward it with an appraising sort of look. )
Don't know how to even begin getting out of here. I—
( There's a scream, a little closer — definitely on this floor. He narrows his eyes. )
I'm going to check that out — do you have any experience fighting?
no subject
We'll have to look.
[ The scream unnerves her and makes Laurel wants to help them. But she may be too late by the time she locates where they were. ]
I can defend myself. I also shouldn't let you go alone either.
no subject
( Then he turns enough to walk, edging close to the wall and towards the adjacent room.
There's no door to speak of, so he peers inside to see a zealot leaving someone all alone with their wrists bound up on a hook. He slips inside the room quickly after assessing the situation, seeing there's no one else. )
Shit, hang on — don't scream, go hide when I get you down.
( He looks back to Laurel for some help, motioning her over while he works at the bindings around their legs. )
no subject
Laurel moves into the room after him, looking at the person who was bound up. Like others here. ]
We'll get you out, okay? Don't worry.
[ Her tone is gentle as she reaches up to start to remove the bindings on their wrists, working as quickly as possible. ]
no subject
Shit. Don't like the look of that.
( Or anything here, really. It all feels dirty on top of feeling wrong and violent, makes his skin crawl for a few reasons. )
Any ideas on where to go?
no subject
Nothing about here is good.
[ She takes in a breath and tries to focus on getting out in one piece and not allowing her fear to overtake her. ]
Not really. I think we'll just have to keep on looking until we find an exit.
001.
Uh, -- yeah. Sure. What's up?
no subject
( He doesn't sound thrilled about needing help. )
Damn beasts around here.
no subject
[ It's a job, he's realizing, and he actually gives the guy his full attention, folding his arms and tipping his head. ]
Yeah, they can be a real pain in the ass. What've you got going on? [ Big, little, does he need to get backup, etc. ]

no subject
Not a Sleeper gone all Beast mode, is it?
[ not like it's easy to tell, but still. he might as well ask. ]
002!
It's fine! Don't worry about it.
[ Then, a little curiously- ]
You must be pretty unlucky.
no subject
( At least he takes the mistake with a smile. )
I'm patrolling a lot, but it seems like I'm running into more petty crime than anything worth sharpening my blades over.
no subject
[ That sounds interesting enough for Mikey to ask more about. To be honest, he could just smile and go on his way, but... Mikey's been lonely ever since he arrived at Trench, so he takes the opportunity for conversation. ]
Like knife-blades? Or are you some kind of swordsman or something?
no subject
Not quite a swordsman. Soldier, more like. ... This is what I'm working with.
002
On some planets, they cut one of your hands off for that if you're caught stealing. It is a suitable punishment.

( He says it dryly, looking Maul up and down. )
no subject
[They hadn’t seemed all that interested in policing anything that the Sleepers did, so Maul was starting to feel fairly confident he could do whatever he wanted and get away with it. Fortunately for the sake of everyone’s sanity, Maul was still interested in behaving himself….for the moment anyway.]
