How's Adam settling in, by the way?

[An elbow jabs Vyng in the ribs. So there, sir.]

He's... worried, I think. [What else is new?] He said he sent you fruit?

[Vyng blinks.]

Wait, he actually sent one? 'Cause if it was food, there's a high chance it fell into a bottomless pit named Billie.

[shiro2hero]

I... don't actually know. He said he was going to.

[He shakes his head a bit, before tilting it up to regard unfamiliar stars.]

And knowing him, he followed through. He always does.

[spiritwalks]

[Vyng's expression softens.]

He sure does. I knew it was just a matter of time before he found you again. And you know what? I'm happy for you, buddy.

[He swallows, something catching in his throat. It's never been Adam's responsibility to "find him". Because Shiro's always the one who... left. Isn't he? Back then, and then again, in Deerington.]

Yeah, I - guess he had to show up and get me back on schedule someday, huh?

Or he needed to show up on his own schedule. [His words are warm with fondness.] He seems like the kind of person who does stuff when he's good and ready, thank you very much.

Hah, you know what? I can just... hear his answer to that.

[There's a bit of amusement in the words, then, before he breaks out a pretty darn good mimic of Adam's voice:]

"Correct."

[Vyng's shoulders shake with a hearty chuckle.]

Exactly. He's dependable and he has boundaries.

[shiro2hero]

Hah, yeah. Yeah, he's exactly that.

[The boundaries Shiro apparently has issues putting up, even.]

[Someone has to. God knows boundaries aren't Vyng's strongest suit.]

No more kicking down your door at two in the morning and reading you bedtime stories.

Not unless you want to be hit with a wooden spoon.

[He pauses, thoughtfully.] Or he'd use the voice on you, and I'm pretty sure that's worse.

The Voice? What's that sound like?

[Oh lord, here it comes. He clears his throat. Time for another Adam Impression:]

Takashi Shirogane you better not be doing what I think you're doing or so help me.

[spiritwalks]

Very impressive. Almost makes me wanna go home, clean my room and wash my face.

[A quiet chuckle.]

How often do you hear that? Be honest.

[shiro2hero]

[He settles back on his hands, watching the water. Turning that over in his head.]

Not as often as I used to. I've... been working on it. Usually now it's just ridiculous things.

[spiritwalks]

["Not as often as I used to." Vyng smiles at that, albeit for a different reason. It's good to know Shiro's been working on the heavier roadblocks in their relationship...and that the extra layer of stability has helped Shiro's emotional state in turn.]

Yeah? Like what?

[shiro2hero]

[He's trying, he really is. It doesn't always come through like it should - his time alone here had been evidence of that. But they're both trying, these days. Has to count for something.]

Hah, just... normal couple things I think? Or "Takashi the orphans are to stay at the orphanage, not come home with you".

[Also, see?? Total dad. But Shiro's made it clear he'll never admit to it, so Vyng doesn't say anything.]

Well, even if it took a minute...I'm glad he made it. Now you can focus on building a life together.
