"That's not too different from my own future, bringing light to others. We don't have Jedi but..." she rubbed her arm, looking up at the kitchen ceiling. "Back home..." she bit her lip. "But anyway, what I'm being asked to do, I don't know the first thing about how." How does one become queen of an entire planet?
"Meanwhile, no one asks anything of me here. It's weird to get used to."
She turned back over to him. "I'm sorry I can't be of much help about teaching and all that, I'm a pretty terrible student."

Instead he focused on the last part of what she said, letting out a soft chuckle. He paused a moment, testing the stew first and nodding to himself, before turning down the heat enough to keep the pot warm as they started serving themselves.
"I don't believe there's such a thing as a terrible student," he finally replied. "Just terrible teachers that don't know how to connect with the people they're teaching, and don't attempt to make that connection."

"You'd sing a different tune if I had to be your student, though I don't know what you'd teach me either," she snorted in amusement.
She got a bowl and filled up a massive portion, grabbing a spoon.
"Here, let's go to the dining room."

He plopped down in the dining room, taking a spoonful of the stew and sticking it in his mouth, chewing on the meat thoughtfully. Well, he wasn't just a Jedi, but he wasn't sure how to balance a farm's income or being a freedom fighter or flying a starfighter would be helpful either.
"...you know, I am trying to think of something to teach you now."

"Mnn, I rather like you liking me rather than thinking I'm a dumb student, so it's probably best you DON'T know what to teach me."
no subject
"You know... maybe I could teach you some Jedi philosophy," he added after swallowing a mouthful of food. "Obviously anything with actually using the Force wouldn't work, but being able to keep calm under pressure might be helpful."
Especially in a place where they could randomly end up facing their worst fears without warning?

She looked over to him at the mention of Jedi philosophy. Admittedly, everything she knew about the Jedi was from Maul's incredibly skewed perspective so she took just about everything with a mountain of salt. And she had gleaned some things here and there from Obi-Wan, but maybe actually finding out what it was Maul was so deeply opposed to from an ACTUAL Jedi wouldn't be such a bad idea.
"Uh, sure, if you want?" she's not sure how she suddenly became a student of Jedi philosophy, but here they were. "But again, fair warning, I'm a terrible student."

"Tell you what," he said. "You have faith in my ability to teach, and I'll have faith in your ability to learn, and we'll figure out the rest along the way."
no subject
"Maybe I'll have to teach you something too," she offered. "Don't know what, but something," she grinned as she took another sip of her stew. "But for now, let's eat."
