Varian doesn't recognise Wesker- or rather, not enough to immediately identify him as a friend as he has others that have attempted to confront him. Lucky for Wesker, he at least came prepared for a fight. He shifts from his attack on a building to stalk closer to Wesker. The only thing stopping him from straight-up attacking is his relaxed posture. His growl is low, rumbling, unsure and on edge. If he understands Wesker's words or not is hard to tell.
