[Varian would never regret coming close to anyone (much less Fern) because as much as that connection was what eventually broke him- it was the connections he'd made here that brought him back. That made it so he didn't have to be killed as a monster to stop him from destroying half the city.

The peacock- extra as he is- is a sign of only one person and the sight of him brings a tired smile to Varian's face- one that only grew when the man himself made an appearance. ]
