1) Intro/Catch-all
Who: Ezra and OTA + Closed prompt below
What: Ezra getting acquainted with Trench
When: Through the month of January
Where: Throughout Trench
Content Warnings: Will be tagged in subject lines as needed.
1. Some Light Parkour
Ezra has been skulking around urban spaces since he was seven. He's long since figured out that even back then, he must have less than consciously used the Force to climb and jump and hide.
The Force feels a little different here - or his connection to it does. Despite the adage of 'do or do not do', he figures approaching testing what the state of his abilities is now with a little trial and error is best. So, at some point, he just picks a roof to aim for and jumps.
"Still got it," he mutters triumphantly, once he's landed about 12 feet higher than he was a second ago.
And then, later, he tries falling. Obviously, he needs to be a little more careful. Even if he doesn't seriously hurt himself - bleeding's an issue, apparently?
He can't let himself overthink it. He drops from one of the lower overhangs, at least. Ok maybe he should have been little more careful because -
"Sorry! You ok?"
2.Some Adjustment Required
There's more people here. Ok, Capital City had had more people than this, and he's been to plenty of places even more crowded. But still people's feelings here feel....louder.
Which is why he ends curled up with a hand over his face, with what feels awfully like a migraine coming on.
3. Nevermore
Not-human intelligence and interest hovered on the edge of his awareness, so he reaches out mentally a little, looking around physically as well. And then - connection.
He reaches an arm up. "Hello," he says, warmly, to the raven who swoops down to perch on his cloaked forearm.

Closed to Obi-wan and/or Anakin
But Ariadne had said Anakin had killed someone - said something about it all being complicated. And that made him worry, because Obi-wan would have to be a very different man, to not feel (overly, in his experience) responsible for Anakin's failings. He should probably do his best to let that worry go, but eventually he decides he needs to try to get at least a little more information.
Besides, he did want to talk out some of his observations about Force use, and he'd rather do it with someone he trusts.
He turns up, cloak hood pulled over his head, because he's worked out the very basics of the contamination issues. He hopes that not bringing a gift or something was ok.
"Thank you again for inviting me, Master Kenobi," he says, with a passable bow, once the door opens.
no subject
Of course. My house is always open to you.
no subject
He can't keep it up for long. He pulls back his hood, and shoots Obi-wan an awkward, pleased grin.]
You say that now. I'm already fighting the impulse to stick close to a familiar face. Although, you're not the only familiar one.
no subject
[ obi-wan's voice echoes for a moment because he can probably guess who it might be. ]
We do have an array of familiar faces here. Who did you run into?

1. Naturally.
Poor Ezra - he just lands on pointy elbows and knees, really, all wrapped up in a long winter coat. Thrashing spidery limbs and a lot of sputtering and then--
Kyle stares, eyes wide.
"Ezra?! DUDE!" Hope you wanted a hug, Ezra, because you're getting one.
no subject
"Kyle? KYLE!" he responds, ramping up to a similar level of enthusiasm and hugging tight back.
"You know me," he adds, relief evident.
no subject
"Dude, yes!" he says, giving him another hug once they're vertical. "Holy shit, dude, I didn't think I'd ever see you again! I went to sleep one night and then I was a squid and then I was here and it's been NUTS dude! Absolutely fucking nuts!" He cackles a little, delighted.
"You're okay? Why are you jumping off of buildings?"
no subject
He glances up at the roof he jumped from. "Other than the whole new levels of weird, I'm ok. I was, um, checking how well my Jedi stuff still works. I'm pretty sure something's different, but I'm still pinning down how much it is me, or the Force here, and how it affects what I can do."

"Get up. Weakness will serve you no purpose here," Maul says.

And he does, in fact, straighten a little, although he's grimacing and shielding his eyes, still.

She groans and sits up, trying to decide if her head or hips hurt more right now, she instinctively presses a hand to her head.
"What...?"
no subject
"I am so sorry," he apologizes again, and holds a hand down to her for her take, to back to her feet if she wants the help. "I did not mean for that to happen."
no subject
"Where... where did you even come from?" she looked around. "I'm a klutz but I'm not THAT blind," she hadn't seen him in the slightest.

Somebody tries pushing a steaming mug of...something into Ezra's other hand.
no subject
"What's this? Who're you?"
no subject
"Tumeric, ginger, one whole lemon, and a pinch of cayenne pepper." The response comes in a deep voice that contrasts with his more androgynous presentation. "Either your stomach will love you, or you'll just get really warm and sweaty. A win-win, in this weather."
The stranger crouches down in front of Ezra. If he looks closely, he may notice three slits on both sides of his neck that go in and out with each breath...like fish gills.
"I'm Vyng," he adds with a reassuring smile. "And that's Francis."
Vyng points a thumb behind himself, at the hippo-sized wooly pig that's patiently waiting several feet away. (Meanwhile, a group of Trenchies awkwardly shuffle around said wooly pig.)

"Waaah!"
For a second, Midoriya wobbles like a complete dork before extricating it from this person.
"I'm fine--but what are you running from?" he asks as he straightens his storm collar. It's a legitimate everyday question to ask in Deer Country.
no subject
"Better now than when I really need it and can't, was my thinking."
no subject
...Barely a second later, he grins.
"I know a better place with less bystanders. I practice all the time."

W-Woah! Yeah.
Jeez- You really know how to spook someone, you know that?
no subject
"Not intentional!" This time, at least. "Just making sure I can move quickly over the roofs if I have to."

Whether that would be of any comfort to Ezra as the Nexu slowly approached him with fangs bared and emitting a stream of low growls and unintelligible trilling noises, who could say? She was being more cautious than anything, but with the way she was keeping herself low to the ground and tensed would suggest she was more than prepared to kill if given a reason to. But his companion's sudden agitation did not go unnoticed by Nox and, though confident her training should prevent her from doing anything rash without his command, he nonetheless hurried to locate her...and the young jedi who had her so on edge. He'd send her a silent reassurance through the Force to ease back and not engage before quickly working to shrink his presence for the Jedi's sake. Nox's aura was typically an uncomfortable one even at the best of times: He radiated an alarmingly strong, dark presence that was made all the more confusing--sometimes even nauseating--by the many additional minds trapped inside his own. And the boy was clearly already overwhelmed with something. No need to make it worse.
He only spoke when he believed his presence was masked enough to be at least tolerable, though as a show of good faith he didn't erase it completely. Just in case his usual choice of attire left Ezra with any doubts about just who he was dealing with, he'd still radiate a distinctly dark side presence. But he hoped it would now at least be a more bearable one.
"Don't mind her, padawan. Most of her experiences with those who wield the Force have been distinctly hostile in nature."
A sentiment evidently echoed by the nexu, though despite one last snarl in protest, the beast did appear to obey and stop treating Ezra like a threat. She may not have cast the friendliest of gazes his way before relaxing her stance and slowly walking back to stay closer to her master's side, but the boy wouldn't receive any further unfriendly attention from her.
"I take it you're one of the newly awakened?"
no subject
That it didn't seem to soothe them at all was pretty discomforting. He'd seemed to do so easily with the ravens and rats that lived in the city, so why didn't it work this time?
Although perhaps it was simple a matter of his pounding head and psychic exhaustion.
He blinks in confusion towards the person accompanying the creature.
"I am," he replies. "Do you...know me? If so, sorry, I don't think I know you."
It's being called specifically a padawan without an introduction that's throwing him. Jedi, sure, he's going around in robes, and he's a Force sensitive. That part's easy. But he doesn't have the traditional braid.
Maybe this guy was just making an assumption based on his age, and honestly, that was fair, too.
no subject
Not that padawans were usually much better, but at least their reactions were typically more varied. Some were even quicker to reach for a lightsaber than their masters, others could be frozen in place, and still more could take a more pragmatic approach rather than assume a confrontation was imminent.
"You don't look to be tolerating the transition well."
