House Log 003: Be Our Guest 2: Vampiric Boogaloo
Who: Closed to Pandora House and some wandering RWBYs
What: Two casts alike in dignity are having vampire drama now
When: Somewhere in the midst of all this
Where: Pandora House, which still needs a cooler name
Content Warnings: Probably nothing as we are here for shenanigans, but will tag in subject lines as necessary
Ozpin gets kicked out of his own house for his recent descent into vampirism and one Qrow Branwen has the brilliant idea to bring him to his good buddy Xerxes Break's house for safekeeping. In theory, this is a solid idea. Despite the first impression given off by White Alice's decidedly weird and sometimes violent snow goon sculptures littering the grounds, this house is safe and cozy, and because Break is a Victorian, being abruptly called upon to provide hospitality is something that is simply written into his personality. There are separate rooms available for all three of their guests, and plenty of food around for the taking at all times. The new arrivals are taken in with about the same level of fuss and disruption as there might be if somebody saw a cute critter out in the yard and everybody had to pause and go look at it because critters are neat.
However, this house also has three chaotic darkbloods in it who are all feeling aggressively friendly at the moment, another vileblood who is also named Oz, and sometimes Ozpin's ex's beloved nephew is just there with likewise zero warning for ghost-harassing reasons. So, you know, have fun with that.

She does notice something weird about the depth of the smile, but, like. That might be something people named Oz just do, and she doesn't care enough about him to kick him or whatever he needs to stop all his shitty old man gears from rattling around in his head. He has his own kids for that. We're not on kicking in the head terms.
"Well, that's a bit boring then. What can you do? Can you fight or cook? I can fight, and do embroidery, and find the best mushrooms. I'd show off but embroidery takes a long time and I can't do the other two things indoors."
Scythes are an outdoor activity.

"I like to regard myself as a competent cook, though I am often more excited to sample the work of others. It is a shame I cannot witness your skill in mushroom-hunting just yet. As for fighting..." He picks up the cane which leans against his chair, and twirls it one-handed. It makes a dramatic noise, even better when he sets the foot down with a sharp clack. "As it happens, I teach lessons."
no subject
"...Huh. Are you better than Qrow? He's pretty good."
Not that she intends to swap allegiances but it's always good to know who can beat who so you can properly brag about your squad.
no subject
"That is kind of you to say. He was my best student."
no subject
Ok now that she thinks about it for five seconds it makes sense that Qrow used to be younger than he is right now and had to have learned things somewhere, she is nevertheless processing this with her eyes huge and mouth wide open. ]
He used to be a kid?! What was he like?! Was he always cool?!
no subject
Oh, yes. Certainly one of the biggest handfuls I have ever had the challenge of teaching, [ partly because he'd been there as a double agent learning to kill all Oz's students, but that's beside the point: Ozpin is excellent at making triple agents. ] but in the course of his schooltime adventures, he and his teammates faced all manner of monsters and villains. They were some of our bravest heroes.
[ If he sounds a little sappy, it's fine: Qrow isn't here to fluster. ]
He has always been one of the greatest Huntsmen of his generation. Has he told you about Huntsmen?
no subject
...They hunt big monsters?
[ That might be the Sailor Guardians actually. She doesn't remember what Sailor Guardians are but is vaguely aware that they don't sail around on boats like you'd think so it might be monster fighting. ]
Yeah, I can see him fighting lots of big monsters. Maybe even the Jabberwock.
no subject
[ He smiles, openly pleased. ]
Though I don't know that we have one called a Jabberwock. It sounds fearsome indeed.
no subject
[ This isn't actually a very good Jabberwock impression. The real thing doesn't go GRAWWWWZHAAANK quite like a demented turkey, but it certainly looks as though it could if it felt. ]
It's my uncle's favorite.
no subject
Ozpin laughs. It's a startled, breathy little chuckle, and he reaches up to adjust his glasses as he nods at her. ]
Well, now I'm getting the picture.
[ He's been teaching twenty-year-olds for too long. He's missed this energy, truly. ]
Has your uncle fought it, or is it the sort of creature only known of in myth and legend?
no subject
[ Alice probably could explain Chains to satisfaction, given her background, but this is an easier comparison. ]
I've fought it a little bit, but I can't hurt it because it's so big and tough and it can't hit me because I'm so small and quick. So it was a tie!
[ Definitely how that works. She departs Ozpin's immediate physical space to flip around in demonstration and get out the zoomies. ]
no subject
This is honestly a degree of chaotic energy he's grown used to, living with Ruby Rose. ]
Well. You must be brave indeed, to have faced such a creature in battle. Perhaps you will have to show me your skills, some day soon.
no subject
[ She bounces in place. Eyes him speculatively. This is how we welcome people in this household and because manners-for-guests she isn't launching right into a boot to the head. ]
no subject
I suspect not everyone would appreciate to have the furniture and tea as collateral damage. In any case, I tend to run my training exercises outdoors.
no subject
I'll get you later, then.
