( he shrugs. )
Guess we'll find out.

[ being lost like this. wanda's been lost in different ways—the kind that makes her a danger to those around her. but as she shrugs and smiles sweetly, she doesn't pose a threat right now. ]
I was once broken out from a water prison, but I had someone who knew the way to lead me. [ she shrugs. ] It wasn't as fun.
[ being on the raft in itself was the very opposite of "fun". ]
no subject
( also who even makes water prisons? how do you make water prisons? )
Didn't know you were that rebellious.
no subject
[ tedious, political and puts her in a bad light, too. but wanda knows she doesn't really have to make too much of an effort for that bright light to turn a little sinister. ]
The people who are my friends and who I work with... the government doesn't like them. I accidentally hurt a lot of people when on a mission with them and the government decided that was enough. We broke the law forbidding us to do things. [ she shrugs. ] I ended up in one of the most secure prisons I kow of.

( amos rubs at his chin, glancing at her. he thinks that she's somewhat mentioned something like this before. never in any great detail but still. )
But you got out.

[ steve had come to the rescue as a hero like him was wont to do. wanda thinks she could've broken out if she had tried. the power suppressors they had put on her had felt ticklish at most, made her feel a little drunk at best.
she looks up at the high ceiling of the catacomb and gestures with a wave of her hand. ]
I don't think he will get us from here.
no subject
( yeah, she's right. he's not here but amos is and while amos doesn't have any kind of special abilities, he's a goddamn cockroach and he's not going to let this place beat him. )
But I'm here. And I'll figure a way out of this.
( he just wishes he had a gun. that would make this easier. )
no subject
While you do, should we play I Spy?
[ she smiles and does her best not to laugh. ]
I can think of a good one.
no subject
( amos slants a look her way and then laughs. there's not much to see in this place but what the fuck ever, it's not like he's doing anything else. )
Fine, we'll play I Spy. Go ahead.

[ wanda taps the corner of her eye, which glows red. she smiles and drops her hand and makes a show of looking around as if there are a plethora of things to choose from rather than dank rock. ]
Something beginning with 'R'.
no subject
( amos smirks and doesn't say anything right away, making a show of looking around before saying: )
Rocks? Is it rocks?
no subject
How did you know? I thought it was so good. Impossible to pick.
[ then she laughs and drops her hand. there's rock. rock to the left, to the right, above them and below them. she feels strangely closed in but free to fly all the same. ]
no subject
( and all that he could see besides the two of them was fucking rock. )
You could call me genius level, in fact.
no subject
Do you know what kind of rock it is, Mr Genius?
[ and before you ask, no, she doesn't, either. ]
no subject
( no, he doesn't know what kind of rock it is. he's not some kind rock genius. )
I don't really care what kind of rock it is either. Do you know?
( he doubts she does but he half expects her to make something up to show him up. )
no subject
[ wanda smiles proudly at that, even tilting her chin upward to sell the deal. she glances around and waves her fingers subtly by her side. the rocks begin to glitter softly like it's the night sky. ]
They may be rock rocks, but they are night rocks. Do you know what those are?
[ let her weave a tale for you that's worthy of putting billy and tommy to bed. ]
no subject
( he knows you're bullshitting him, wanda. )
What are night rocks?
no subject
They're rocks that keep hold of the night safe when it's day. See?
[ she tilts her head towards the ceiling. the little baubles glow and shimmer, and a thin line smears across the sky like a star shooting from one side of the galaxy to the other. ]
no subject
( he's gonna let you have that one, wanda, but he knows that you're not telling him the truth. he watches the rocks and then shakes his head. )
They're just rocks.
no subject
[ she mock gasps and laughs. the night rocks twinkle above her as if to say "she's not bullshitting at all!" but, of course, their red glow does give off the stark impression that she is controlling them. ]
No! They are night rocks. See? Look!
[ she peers up at the ceiling until her head is bent back. they're still there, amos! ]
no subject
( he reaches over and kicks the side of the cave. some rock crumbles. )
If there was light in here, would you be calling them light rocks?
no subject
[ she laughs, the night rocks glowing brightly. she eyes the wall of the cave and lets her gaze wander up to the ceiling. no big fissures form. the world won't fall in around them. ]
You have no imagination, Mr Burton.
no subject
( he will not be swayed. )
I don't need an imagination in this case.
no subject
[ she shakes her head and tsks, hoping he feels a little insecure at the clear pity she regards him with. ]
How can you be in a place and see it so literally? It's dull to look at a rock and see it as a rock.
no subject
( it's still a rock, wanda. )
