[She shrugs. She doesn't have any memories attached to this place, but scavenging is an easy enough concept to grasp. She slings her crossbow over her shoulder, following the direction he's looking to see if he can spot the store.]
Want backup?
no subject
[That, at least, jars him out of his memories. Of all the things to mention - why that? He pauses where he walks, turning to look at her.]
I - sure. But, blood pills?
no subject
I dunno if the obsession with blood's a new thing. [She shrugs.]

[Now he gets it.]
This - this wasn't Trench, exactly. This was Deerington. Or - what's left of it. It was the dream world we were trapped in before Trench.
no subject
Just not sure if whatever we'll find will have been converted into a Trench equivalent. Or for that matter, if Deerington was as obsessed with blood as this place is.

[Aside from October, it really wasn't.]
I figure worst case scenario, everything's too expired or degraded to use.

There might be a Darkblood that can restore them or something, though. Could be worth it just to get some examples of modern medicine on hand.
[Strangely smart for her. She follows him along the road, taking in the sights. There's nothing she recognizes, not yet.]
no subject
[Shiro that. Doesn't make a lot of sense. But oh well. It's more hopeful than he actually feels, so there's that.]
Can Darkbloods do that? [He doesn't know many of them, he doesn't think. Most people he's friends with tend to be Pale or Cold.]
no subject
But they're like... time and shit, right? Seems like it would apply, I dunno.

[Reaching the front door of the shop, he gingerly pushes on it. Carefully. Just in case there's anything inside...]
[And the door just. Falls.]
... well. There goes stealth.
no subject
[She peeks inside. Yep, this sure is appropriately ruined to shit.]
You got a flashlight or something?
no subject
[Except not now. Now he's kind of screwed it all up.]
Not exactly - hold on. [A pause, and he flexes his right hand. Lurid purple light blossoms, illuminating the barren, broken shop. This is painfully familiar. He exhales, forcing down the feelings, the tightness in his throat and image of blue hair ducking through the shelves.] There we go.
no subject
Alright, probably best if we divide and conquer this place. I'm guessing we're not gonna find much on the shelves but it's worth a look, I'll check the cabinets.
[Faith wanders over to the counter, vaulting over it and crouching behind it to see if there's anything beneath the battered register.]
no subject
[Easier just to roll with it than explain anything.]
They kept them locked. You might have to break in, if the locks haven't rusted off.
[While he busies himself with the shelving. Decayed and broken as it is.]
