Not this time.

[He thinks he can hear the telltale scuff of claws that indicate Boxer will be joining them soon, so Eames snuggles in closer to prevent his darling son from wriggling between them.]

[Arthur hears Boxer coming too, and in preparation he pulls the blanket up a little higher on them and gets ready to tuck his head into Eames' neck in order to dodge the curious wet dog nose. He loves his stepson but he's trying to relax here.]

[ Boxer trots in and immediately gets to nosing at Arthur and Eames, mostly to see how he can slot himself into this situation. After a couple forceful nudges with his head, it becomes obvious there's no way to get in the middle of this, (though it does make Eames laugh,) and so he just stands behind Eames' back to recalculate. ]

[ What a ridiculous young man. Eames loves him. ]

[Arthur helpfully suggests to Boxer that he should lay down where he is, but other than that he's happy to just keep minimizing the space between himself and Eames.]

[Eames laughs softly again when Boxer whines and nudges Eames again, but he puts his head down on Eames' waist and curls up behind him after that.]

[He snorts and tilts his head to nose at Arthur a little.]

He's going to give me so much attitude later.

[Arthur grins wryly, tempted to tell Eames he deserves it. But he doesn't want to ruin this moment because it feels really good.]

I'll make up for it.

I'll hold you to that.

[ He hums softly and keeps nosing at Arthur, trying to convince him to lift his head for a kiss. ]

[Arthur meets his lips easily with a happy hum, his hand coming to rest on Eames' cheek.]

[This is so nice and peaceful, Eames smiles wide against Arthur's lips and sighs happily. He could spend hours just curled up with Arthur like this.]
