mabel
it is, otherwise, an ordinary day at the rookery. her omen winter has taken knight the blood hound and visenya the batcat out in the courtyard behind her building while she sews garnet chip beads out in a swirling pattern from the center of a wine-red bias cut dress for one of her night walker clients in her back room. taylor swift's 'reputation' emanates from her omni crystal at a fairly low volume, and lady naps on an armchair.]
late late late late late
Mabel brings a project of her own with her when she ambles into the Rookery. There's no way she's going to be as good as the other girl is anytime soon, but Sansa's talent for embroidery and the like has turned something Mabel once thought of as boring into Life Goals instead, as you really can't call her handwork anything but fabulous. Inspired thus, she has been working on decorative hoops to hang up around the Pines household, and is close to finishing another. The one in her hands is, of course, meant to be be practice at satin stitch, but Mabel is a restless creature, and she's started sneaking some french knots into things too.]
Hey, Alayne! [She pokes her head in through the door before she comes all the way in, cheerful as ever.] Are you up for company while you work today?
it's ok!!!!
lady hears when mabel enters the house, and so does sansa. she's able to piece together the gait and scent into a portrait of a friend, and decides she's glad to see her before she does with her eyes. sansa looks up from her sewing and beams.]
Mabel! Of course. I'm glad you brought your sewing. Can I get you anything to eat or drink?
[she still stubbornly holds on to traditions of guest right. this is one of the reasons her house is always stocked with biscuits, pastries, and cake (and juice, when she can get it).]

[Whatever the fancy protocols are for the way guests are supposed to react to offerings in these kinds of traditions, Mabel is totally oblivious to them. She makes up for any clueless blunders with her genuine desire to look after her friends. Trotting into the room, she swings her bag onto the nearest unoccupied chair and rummages around in it for just a moment. What she brings out, tucked safely away in a little jar, is a small string of fine glass beads in a vivid blue that shifts to purple in the light. They're certainly not the gemstone beads that Sansa seems to favor. But Mabel checked them over before she "bought" them and they're of uniform size with no weird bumps or cracks that would mark them as flawed, and she's confident in them as she holds them out to the other girl.]
These are something you could use, right?

Oh! Thank you!
[she beams and takes the beads. while it's true sansa is very often looking for gemstone beads and chips for her gowns, she uses quite a lot of cut glass and metal ones, too. glass is still somewhat of a precious commodity in the seven kingdoms, and myrish glass especially. anything with a fancy tint like that would have had to be imported. she is genuinely impressed as she holds them up to the light.]
They're lovely.
[the shape would feat neatly into her silver-scale dress. she resolves to make a similar one in more of a blue grey. she sets them with the garnet chips for now, and stands up.]
Let me just fetch us some lemonsweet and muffins. You do like blueberries? I have chocolate biscuits, otherwise.
[she always has chocolate biscuits, and usually some kind of lemon shortbread.]
