[the glow of the jar mostly catches his lower chest and fingers around the glass. dabi eyes the other man from his place on the roof, a gentle breeze blowing the tails of his coat around his legs. initial thought is to make this his roof via removing the invader. but a mixture of his experience with that blonde kid in the forest and the result of killing a butterfly earlier stays his hand from anything violent immediately.

I like to have options available.

["desperate" is too strong a word for this. "desperate" would involve killing.]

[ Pretty impressive, Mako thinks, that he was right where the butterflies landed, that he was ready. Like he figured out the pattern, which is also sort of what Mako is trying to do. There is an electric sort of tension in the dark air. It makes Mako's fingers twitch by his sides, useless, because his fire is gone with the sun and he's more vulnerable like this in the heavy darkness.

De-escalate, then. Diffuse the tension flowing on the breeze. Mako lifts a casual shoulder, looks up at the distant-lit trail of a butterfly. ]

Seems like you figured out their patterns. They drop these things every time they land?

[he's been around for a bit now, had encounters with them before. knows enough to keep a watch for them and then go show up where they recently left to avoid getting caught by their wings' allure and still have a chance to harvest the fresh orbs. dabi eyes him with the same sort of guarded focus, not letting the newcomer slide away. unless it's a retreat...

something about him is the briefest sense of "familiar" but he can't place it.]

Nah. [and points to the butterfly's glowing trail of orbs following its path.] But it's easier to collect them where they landed.
