Ruby Rose May Catchall (Open and Closed Prompts)
Who: Ruby Rose
onekindsoul
What: Assorted TDM Prompts.
When: Throughout April
Where: Throughout Trench.
Content Warnings: TDM Prompt Warnings, Will update as necessary
Fate Forged in Steel
[Ruby Rose tended to do most of her weapon making out of her own house. But with sun shining and the weather warming up enough that she could feel it in her own cold blood it was enough to pull her out of the house and make her way over to Prufrock to work on her latest project. And let's be real the chance to see any sort of weapon that Hunters or other Sleepers used was enough to get excited.
So she's taken on some work at a local smithy with the promise of having some time to work on her own project at the same time. She can be found smithing and smelting and working on pieces of something that resembles not only a spear but a guitar as well. There's a fair amount of complicated moving parts that cause it to extend out into the spear and revert back into the guitar shape.
If anyone comes by she'll happily stop in her work and look up with a smile.]
Hey, Can I help you?
May Flower.
[Honestly the first time Ruby sees the festival going on at the board walk she feels a little on edge. It reminds her a lot of her first year in the dream when the towns people went more than a little culty. It had been more than a little dangerous between having to fight one of her closest friends and someone attempting to murder her. But she does her best to sort of push those thoughts aside as this certainly feels more peaceful than the last time around.
It doesn't take her long to accept a drink from a passerby and she finds herself with vibrant red roses growing out or her hair. It's cute, alright?
But... Then she sees the cookies and she's done for. Cookies have been her weakness since she was a kid. She manages to snag a whole plate to herself and inhales them with gusto. Only to find that with each cookie she eats the next one she picks up is bigger than the last.
Before she knows it she's about the same size as the cookies on the plate and she still hasn't quite stopped yet. She's using her scythe to try and cut apart one of the massive cookies to get a crumb that she can eat.
...It takes her a moment and then she realizes the situation she's in.]
Uh- Hey! A little help here?
Mirror Mirror
[Ruby hadn't given much thought to the warnings about the mirrors. That is until she fell victim to the curse herself. Now all she could really do is kick herself as she found herself sitting in the passenger seat as her own body moved against her will.
For the most part this Ruby enough like herself. That is until she something happen that endangered someone in front of her. Whether they were injured by a monster, got into a fight on the street, or even as simple as a paper cut it immediately set this Ruby off. In an instant her scythe was out and with a flourish she was standing between the injured and attacking party, a fierce glare in her mismatched eyes.]
Back off. Or I'm going to start taking limbs next.
Mirror Mirror B
[Or maybe it is as simple as a paper cut, or stubbed. In which case Ruby will take aim with Crescent Rose in it's rifle form and shoot the book right off the table. (Or feel free to bring in another minor inconvenience to have Violent Savior Ruby go ham on.)]
Now that should teach that thing not to mess with us again.

Closed Starter for Break
Forged in Steel
With his only goal being watching and investigating for the moment, he was caught by surprise when the young woman working beamed in his general direction. Momentarily startled, he looked at the girl.]
Who? Me?
no subject
She grinned and gave a nod.]
Yeah, of course I mean you!
Let me guess- You're more of a gun type?
Or do you do the whole sword and shield thing?
no subject
[He looked at her, questioning. This was a tricky subject, so he decided to go with the simplest explanation.]
I'm an alchemist and a detective. Usually people call me after someone has been... hurt.
[
killed.]And then it's my job to figure out who committed the crime so the people in power can take proper measures. If people come after me... well. I have methods of managing.
[A shrug.
Translation: He had a scythe-wielding apprentice following him in a cloak everywhere he went, who was more than willing to act as his bodyguard when times called for it.]
...This is actually for a friend. I'm trying to enchant a weapon for her, but a fighter of her caliber needs a base weapon that matches her skills before it's buffed up with magic.
You seem like someone who knows how to do that. What will it cost for your time and opinions?
no subject
Look- I'm not saying you can't handle yourself but like I'm pretty sure a lot of classic detectives had guns.
...And funny hats.
...And Monocles.
...And pipes.
And I can help you with at least one of those things.
Actually two! I pipe gun could be pretty cool.
[She gets a little more serious with the next question.]
Yeah! I'm actually the right girl for the job. I used to have an enchanted blade for my scythe back in the dream. It kind of got lost in the shuffle between there and here though.
Let's figure out exactly what she needs before we talk costs. But if you've got a budget we can work something out.
What sort of weapons does she use?

May Flower
Sunshine, however, didn't sound like Ruby Rose.]
Uh. Ruby? Where--?
[He searched around him before by chance having his gaze land on her standing on the table. A flustered grin quickly broke across his face before he finally sputtered with laughter.]
Ruby. What happened? What did you do?
no subject
What do you mean "What did I do"!?
It was obviously this place! That's not fair!
no subject
Oh. I mean obviously! [And, with a big grin brightening his face, he leaned down to get a better look at her.] I just never imagined that you would become my little sister!
no subject
Ha. Ha. Very funny.
You are so getting noogied the second I'm back to my normal height. You know that, right?

mirror mirror
[ Listen, Ruby being protective of her? That's nothing surprising. They always have each other's back in dangerous situations, after all. If there really had been some sort of monster attacking here, Ange wouldn't have done as much as blinked at Ruby's threat, or her suddenly taking out that weapon.
.. except.. that's not quite what's going on here. After all, there's no monster attacking Ange. There's not even any real danger. All that happened was that one of the Trenchies happened to accidentally bump into Ange on the street, causing Ange to fall down on the ground, and now there's suddenly Ruby.
With her scythe out.
That's not normal.
She scrambles to quickly get back up on her feet. ] Ruby, it's fine! There's nothing going on here!
no subject
The strangest part is there isn't an instant where she looks to check if Ange is okay. Her eyes are dead set on the person who did it who's now facing her and backing away nervously. A clear look of fear on his face.
Ruby steps closer slowly trying to close the distance between them. Her scythe blade grinding against the ground in a very menacing fashion.]
It's okay, Ange.
This will only take a second.
And this guy will pay.
no subject
Especially since it's so obvious to Ange that it was just an accident. Maybe it's the years spent being bullied, but Ange likes to think she can tell exactly when someone is doing something on purpose or not - and the way the guy is backing away in nervous panic makes it pretty clear to her that it was just an accident, and that he's not looking for any kind of trouble. ]
He's just some guy! [ Sorry, random Trenchy. ] Come on, Ruby.
[ Ange continues to speak, though she finds it more and more odd that the other isn't even looking at her. Nothing like this is like Ruby at all - but what does that mean in this specific case? Ange hasn't even heard about people acting off without corruption being involved, and Ruby doesn't look corrupted in any way. ]
Let's just go home, alright?

Oh, hey... Neat found them finally. [She had gone to attempt to pick up one when she felt something hit her hand.]
What the...cookies...have you forsaken me? Are you biting the hand that feeds you? [Said with a bit of dramatic flair to say the least, but she didn't understand what was going on either. AT least until she found a tiny person on it.]
Oh... were you the one who hit me? Your so little. It's cute.
no subject
Yeah- It was. Definitely wasn't trying to bite you though- Not that it would do so much down here.
[She rubs at the back of her head a little nervously.]
And yeah- It just kind of happened. Not exactly sure how-
But I'm super small now-
I guess being tiny and cute is a plus though, right?
no subject
[She was at least putting the plat down for the moment holding the other in the palm of her hand now.]
But... now it brings about the question of... how do we fix this?

Closed To Paul, Johnny, Peter CW: Kidnapping, Violence, More to come!
The question was which one of the two had been the one to deliver. He'd probably have to end up striking back against both of them at some point, but he could start with one for now. The lanky kid with the weird mood swings would have to be his first target. He had killed Johnny once before, he seemed like the most likely to have pulled this off.
It takes a few nights but Johnny eventually does find him on the street and quickly manages to knock him out and stuff him in the trunk of his 2009 Challenger. It wasn't his preferred style but he had to make sure the kid didn't go nuts on him like the last time.
Peter Graham will wake up to a world of darkness thanks to a strip of cloth used to blindfold him. His feet wont quite be able to touch ground and he'll sway gently back and forth from the punching bag he's currently tied to. ...Oddly enough there'll be a little bit of extra padding tied to his chest too. It almost feels like a couch cushion.
After a moment he'll hear a voice.]
Back in my day.
When you wanted to get back at someone you would do it to their face.
There was honor. There was respect.
These kids today making fun of people over the network.
Leaving tongues at our doors.
These spineless nerds leave a bad taste in my mouth.
[And Peter will feel the blindfold get pulled away from his eyes. He's in the abandoned warehouse that made up the Cobra Kai Dojo. Black Paint on the wall clearly read.
"Strike First.
Strike Hard.
No Mercy."
Johnny stepped into view from behind him. And there was another person standing in front of him a few feet away. Johnny's star pupil, Paul.]
We've got a guest in Cobra Kai today.
Someone who needs to learn how to really confront his enemies.
Just remember in the tournament the best way to score a point is to aim for the torso.
We'll start with a front kick, side kick.
cw: panic attack associations
Enough that panic doesn't come at first. Not even when he realises that his eyes are open but he's unable to see anything, blinking wide and feeling his lashes scrape the material of the cloth restricting his vision. He can't move his arms, or his legs, or much of anything, but he can feel himself drifting. Swinging? Gentle.
He realises seconds before the voice talks that he can feel someone's near him — it's almost like a sixth sense now, what it is to be watched by someone you can't watch back. Eyes from the darkness, white grins closing in. He's been hunted, he realises, and the pinprick of panic finally jumpstarts his heart, right as the man starts speaking.
Peter gasps, a sharp sound, drawn to attention. To reality. With it, the telltale ache of physical violence, of being knocked out (he's felt it before), but it feels weirdly distant and numb. He starts breathing too fast, too quick, and he makes a sound like an animal. A kind of whimper, a moan, a whine.
The words don't make any sense to him; he's having a hard time processing them. Then the darkness is abruptly lifted, and his wide eyes are struggling to make sense of what he's seeing. He doesn't know where he is, and his nostrils flare; it's only after the man steps into view that Peter realises he'd recognised the voice. )
Wh— Nn-oh— ( the young man sputters sounds that are maybe supposed to be "no", but he can't work against the tightness of his own throat; that rising panic has him feeling choked out of himself. It's him, it's him, the man. There's someone else. He recognises the boy too, but weirdly distantly. Peter can't remember how, or his name, not at first.
But suddenly, his body remembers how to scream, so Peter does. It's abrupt, loud, a little shocking in its suddenness. Even he seems startled by it. )
cw: violence against someone in restraints
But it's one thing to know what has to be done, and another to do it. Paul told someone that himself not long ago. It echoes like a taunt as he steps in front of the bound young man, steeling himself to enact the called for retaliation.
He expects the scream. He doesn't expect it to nearly make him flinch, his eyes widening as the sound cut across the air between them like a knife sweeping out in a desperate hand.
He's met this boy twice, once as monster, once as guest. The scream reminds him of the monster, and the memory of the first time he felt that kind of helpless, uncanny fear of the other is not one he likes to recall. It was a lesson he needed to learn, but he still finds it hard to cultivate any gratitude for it.]
Don't-
[Paul's mouth twists as he shakes his head, rocking back on his shoeless heels. This is a simple task. All he has to do is do it.
(He thinks of turning a hat over in his hands, the sweet smell of relaxing smoke. A crooked, awkwardly genuine smile, and the sense of calm that had settled over him in its presence. It had been a good moment. It had felt like moving past something. He can't think about it.)
He takes a breath, quick and certain, and kicks. He doesn't pull them, but they're demonstrative, without the force required to injure beyond bruising even without the padding. He looks to Johnny when he's done it, uncertainty rising like sour spit up the back of his throat.]

closed to ruby and break
And that's certainly what's going on here. When Ruby suggested that the two of them should go out and have lunch together with Break, Ange didn't even have to think about her answer. She's grown close with Break at a rate she could never even have imagined when they first spoke, and spending time with Ruby is as natural as breathing by now. Spending time with both of them together?
Well, it's bound to only be nicer. It's why Ange actually looks relatively content as the three of them are sitting at a table together at a small eating establishment, lunch foods spread out on the table - and probably some sugary goods as well, knowing the sweet tooths going on here.
In fact..
Ange is actually smiling. Openly. Maybe it's because there's not many other people here, or maybe it's just the company of these two, but she's genuinely looking delighted as she's grabbing one of the more sugary pastries to put on her plate. ]
Ruby, it was a great idea for the three of us to get together like this.
[ Little does Ange know that she's about to regret those words when she realises the true reason Ruby brought them together, rather than it being for just some random little lunch meeting. Though maybe it's her own dumb fault for just not bothering to ask if there was a special reason in the first place. ]
no subject
But he is a little confused. Honestly, he has been subtly looking around for Qrow since he arrived. "The Nieces" inviting him alone anywhere is a little weird, surely? Not both of "the Uncles" to match them? Then Ange confirms that it is just the three of them and that it was Ruby's idea, and, well.
Alright, so obviously Ruby is up to something. That is fine and good. Either Break gets to participate in shenanigans against some other poor sucker or he's about to get completely trolled himself, which he's willing to be a good sport about on account of it's probably inevitable anyway. Settling in properly, he snags some horrid cream-filled thing for himself, and looks to Ruby expectantly.]
Just so, just so. Then, are we to have another chat about shovels?
no subject
She smiles sweetly to Ange and gives her a thumbs up.]
Hey- What can I say? Every once in awhile we have to make sure Break gets some fresh air and exercise. It's important at his ag-
[And then Break calls her out just like that and she feels her jaw drop. It hangs there for a second before she manages to recover.]
Wha- No- Not shovels. Not this time. I'm trusting you to keep your skills up with those though. As you know- I'm counting on you.
[She then moves to let her elbows rest on the table as she starts to steeple her fingers in thought.]
...Buuuuuuut. I have gathered you here today because uh- We do have news.
Big news but maybe not like super surprising news- I've never really done this and don't really know how it goes. But we're going to be having a party- or a ceremony- or a celebration and we might need some help to figure things out.
...You know Ange, because we're doing that thing? You know the one I'm talking about, right?
