stay out my way motherfucker
Who: Everyone involved in the Tyrant player plot!
What: It's time to Kill A Tyrant.
When: End of April.
Where: Clearing outside Lumenwood
Content Warnings: Resident Evil warnings in full play. Zombie horror, body horror, violence, gore, character injury, character deaths. Will update as needed.
[It's easy enough to lure the Tyrant.
Umbrella didn't make it with much in the way of intelligence, you see. Just enough to follow orders, but not so much that it could reason for itself whether those were orders that it ought to follow. So it comes lumbering into a clearing just outside of Lumenwood, situated conveniently far enough to avoid collateral damage. Its steps don't shake the ground, but for some people, it may as well have, the impact of each footstep jarring loose memories of a different time.
But if there's one thing learned from then, it's this: even monsters such as these can die.
It just...takes a lot of firepower to do so.]

BOSS FIGHT
FIRST PHASE: COATS ON
Who happens to be Leon, playing his part and trying to get the monster into the best possible position for someone with enough power to rain hell.]
Hey, Trenchy! Remember me?
Re: FIRST PHASE: COATS ON
Luz disembarks onto one of the nearby roofs in Lumenwood, tapping a glyph that gives her some light, and is already looking for aid, but watched the fight down below.
It looked like Leon was already trying to lure the monster in. OK.
Re: FIRST PHASE: COATS ON
He looks up to Luz, nodding to her. "Do your best and give it your worst," he calls up to her.
Re: FIRST PHASE: COATS ON
She began to soar up in the sky, then moved with quickening speed and let her glyphs flutter toward the Tyrant. Landing farther away she brought her staff up and activated the spells. They were like mini firecrackers, and let off enough sparks and lights that it would keep the Tyrant busy and dazed, just enough for the Hunters to get in their own attacks.
Once that happened, Luz was up in the sky again, making sure not to stay in the same space. The last thing she wanted was to get too close to that monster.

His omen appears in a curl of smoke at his feet. About the size of a house cat right now, the dragon omen pours into his sword turning the metal jet black. Diluc has flanked the Tyrant. He drops down, quiet as a cat, and brings his claymore around in a vicious, fast swing.
The fiery magic he has been channeling comes out in the form of a bird of fire. It hammers into the tyrantβs side. The surprise of the attack catches the Tyrant off guard. Everyone else has a chance to move closer or strike depending on how close to in position they are.]

Go make sure they have an escape route. [he whispers the ask to his omen - a little dog who growl-barks and scampers out of cover and off toward Leon and any of the others who are physically putting their bodies out in view. as that's happening, Manabu watches the figure shifting focus to the direction Diluc's blast came from. he sets his sights and fires a few laser shots at its shoulder and hip - mere bugbites in comparison, but annoying enough to pull focus and keep its attention on a swivel between Diluc and he.
Leon Kennedy acquires one (1) omen-dog buddy.]

This time the cold rolls through him and gathers around his blade. He balances his sword as the creature moves towards Manabu. Icy magic stabs in the ground and snaps at it.
As it turns back the ice lashes out. Leaving it open again for more shots.]

And, as anyone that even has a remote trace of shounen energy may do, he wasn't exactly all that intimidated even in the face of this thing. That didn't seem at all phased or hurt by the actual bullets and what appears to be a literal bird of fire that just slammed into it. He...was likely in over his head.
Right.]
Might want to keep your eyes open. [Outmatched or not, the point was to keep the thing occupied and in the area. And Kazuma was great at taunting. He moves within range (a dangerous thought) and takes a swipe at the creature, scoring the thick material of its trenchcoat with his blade before trying to duck back out before it can get a hit in.] You have a few people that want your attention.

Pay more attention to it instead of talking!
[Anakin could have done this from a safe distance as well, instead he's not far off from the both of them. One hand outstretched to try and choke it now.]

she tries to throw fire at it from a fair distance. no luck.
so she closes on in, far enough that it can't actually reach her unless the thing can do the high jump, but also far enough in to do some damage.
fire pours from her hands, setting everything around it on fire. and hopefully it, too]
Yech, why did no one mention how bad this thing smells?

Bear in mind, it's more or less an undecayed zombie that's been taught some offensive and defensive capabilities.

I can drop a building down upon it but you will need to distract it until then. Do you think you can do that?

You bring a rocket launcher or something? [It's a light joke, made with the look of someone whose regular Tuesday this is.]
(Three way thread? Maul-Leon-Wes, in order??)

But there are ways around that. He will not raise a hand against it, but he can aide those who can and will. Glancing to his companions and hefting the leather satchel imprinted with a Blood Minister's sigil and containing the necessary for any injured Sleepers, he nods to them. "Move out," he orders. With a practiced precision, they fan out, flanking the Tyrant, getting its attention yet holding their fire as one young Hunter lights the ends of their crossbow bolts.
The oldest and strongest-looking Hunter glances to Wesker, who meets the man's gaze and gives him the briefest nod. As one the Hunters open fire on the Tyrant, falling back before it can turn on them. But turn on them it does, the bolts enough to madden it and the chemical fire on the tips paining it, while its creator watches, his impassive face dubious.

Luz might well have landed nearby! And if she does, the dark-hair teenager already on the roof is going to make a gesture indicating that she should remain low. Or... well, the rune-user is going to take off again so maybe not!
At least she now knows where Wesker is. Gaia calls down to him.
"I'm going to try and slow it down. I'll delay the spell so it'll go off in about eight seconds, if you want to pass it around. Though still don't know if it's going to work."
Unless she's told to wait, the teen rises up and sights the enemy. Energy is woven into a spell, one that'll delay the next she casts by the prescribed amount, with the faint echo of ticking and the imagery of dark clock hands turning. What follows would be a spell intended to slow the reactions of the coat-wearing enemy. There will be a faint circle of lights slowly extinguishing over the Tyrant's head when the countdown reaches five seconds. Whether the actual delayed spell itself will stick? Well find out in a few seconds...

( She's afraid, of course she's afraid.
But more than anything, Rose is angry. The creatures from her own world, the creatures from other people's... It seems like an endless nightmare. She's already tired. And she's not stupid, she knows she isn't remotely equipped to handle something like this. But turning away from the network warning isn't something she could do.
No, not when she has to protect her daughter. And the countless other kids in this awful place.
She's on the ground, staying a safe distance from the thing while she waits to see what the others are going to do β some firing, some up on the rooftops β and Rose turns to the nearest person, eyes wide. Mouth tight. She already looks resigned; if you're going to tell her to stay safe, it'll be a waste of breath. Rose is not about to back down. )
What do you need me to do to help you?

And then she saw Rose. The moment she came to view Luz's heart sunk and she got on her staff and sped over faster than she'd ever done in the past].
NO! NOT HER!
Rose, are you crazy?! You can't be here! That thing can't spot you! It's fast, you don't have any armor!

We cross paths in the most dire situations. I'd tell you to get back and stay clear, but you've too big a heart for that.
[He knows it's in her nature, and yet he would protect her and return the help she gave him in the Farm.]
We'll need to get this creature out into the open, but whoever does that, they'll need to cover themselves.
[He reaches to the holster under his right arm, taking out a formidable-looking handgun, holding it with its extended barrel pointed at the ground.]
Have you ever used one of these?

SECOND PHASE: COATS OFF
AFTERMATH
Wesker / Second Phase - Coat's off! / Red Eyes Take Warning
Destroy what destroyed them.
He retreats into the bracken, which some might mistake for an escape. But after a long moment, Wesker returns with a naval cannon in tow. "I had to bribe a merchant marine captain for this," he notes, to whomever notes the new artillery, a flicker of red showing behind his lenses.
Wesker then takes hold of the cannon, hefting it to hold it at hip level with one hand, while with his free hand, he reaches back and grabs the thick lanyard hanging from the gunlock. "Time for a time-out, Junior," he murmurs, his now literally blazing eyes on the Tyrant. And he yanks on the lanyard.
BOOM!!
Cordite billows from the muzzle and the breech, hiding both the Tyrant and its developer for a moment. Then slowly it clears, revealing that Wesker has dropped back, now wielding the spent cannon - devoid of its wooden gun carriage, which looks like he'd wrenched it off - like a large metal club. The Tyrant, meanwhile, has a gaping wound in its hip, causing it to limp, but not keeping it from going on the defensive. Not yet.
"Come now, junior, time I took you to the woodshed," Wesker croons, challenging the creature.
no subject
...just in time to see Wesker bring out the naval cannon. If anything can do some damage to that thing, this will. She hopes.
But while there's a decent sized wound to the hip, she figures that can't slow it down for very much longer.
She calls out, "Do you need more ice? Or would that only get in the way?"
no subject
The Hunters have regrouped, though a few of their number have vanished. The grizzled one looks from Wesker to Tinya, nodding to her, as if to say "Give it your worst, lass."
no subject
As soon as it's on its knees, she pours ice down on it, past the point of exhaustion, but it's her will keeping her afloat. She's drawing from untapped reserves of willpower to see this through.
She winks and grins at the grizzled Hunter. "Done. And if it tries anything, well, it won't break my heart to give him the depths of the Void."
