What: Having a Party in a field with Fireworks
When: the second week-ish in May
Where: (the field outside of) Pal and Viktor's bunker in Gaze
Content Warnings: alcohol and teens drinking it, irresponsible use of explosives, see threads for anything else that comes up

afternoon/evening.
Earlier in the morning on the day of The Fireworks Field Party (tm), Palamedes makes sure to send a quick location ping to anyone who's never been to the Sixth bunker (also tm) before, because it is, indeed, just in a field somewhere in Gaze. The treeline is comfortably distant from the door to said bunker, which is the only real indication anything is out here besides a few "big rocks" that he names, in his message, as landmarks.
As an afterthought, he has set up a little trail of mason jars containing glowing mushrooms to lead the way to The Field, helpfully. The Field is what it sounds like: a dang field, just slightly ominous in the Gaze fashion, although besides the usual somebody's-watching feeling, it's grassy and spacious for kitschy lawn games. Among the things Palamedes has provided (upon recommendation of a shopkeeper, so like, do not perceive his choices, they were made for him) include:
1. Just a load of blankets, big cozy ones dutifully spread out for chilling on, on the ground.
2. Throwing game Crossbones, definitely chosen because of the bones (they are wooden sticks), and just kind of left sitting there waiting because your host does not know how to play physical games.
3. beanbag horseshoes because it rocks
4. Just, like, a specific blanket that has pencils and blank paper sitting on it... This is a free station, no one will question what art happens here.
Harrow has also provided bone chairs for alternate seating, which are precisely what they sound like.
Eventually, the field will also feature a snack table, which is a community effort, and a booze table, which is slightly supervised in the way that your esteemed host(s) will not permit booze and cherry bombs at the same time.
And, because it's an open field in Trench, there is also a table where emergency incense is waiting. Wandering too far from the space immediately around the bunker (which, it's a big space, you'd have to go far) will eventually lead you to blood wards on the ground, on the trunks of a few trees, etc. Don't touch these. Don't be gross.
the fucken fireworks.
It's fireworks. Once it's dark, there are even more glowing mushroom jars and homemade alchemy glowsticks from Waver to be passed around, somehow, and at least some of the little beanbags glow in the dark, ooh!! Viktor has provided cherry bombs to be used with at least a little caution, for god's sake. There are also some slightly larger fireworks in much shorter supply, from a shop, that will be closely guarded until someone with pyrotechnics talent convinces Palamedes they deserve one. Godspeed.
Broadly: this is a fireworks party (tm) for individual wee ones you can throw around on your own, with only a brief smattering of the big ones that light up the whole sky above the field. It's a chill time for cool buds, fire safety is encouraged, so is vibing on the blankets and enjoying a nice evening.
At various times, local dope musician Anna Amarande will be providing some light musical entertainment, for vibes.
the bunker i guess.
The party is not in here, but for reference:
-it's locked via numpad and neither of these stickbug nerds are giving out the code but they'll open the door if asked... you don't have to leave the place to go to the bathroom lmf
-it's a bunker. it's one room and a bathroom in the back. it's full of disorganized nerd stuff and an oversized moon orb and pal's mean omen, rocky the cool rat (harpy eagle), who will aggressively flap at anyone with sticky fingers until they leave
-the code is 69420 so if you're super funny like gideon you COULD guess it

They blow up?
[is there wildfire in them? why?]
no subject
he pauses for a moment before pulling out a stick- a sparkler! this would probably be a little less alarming, he thinks.] There's also these, if you'd like to try it. You just light the end and they spark without any explosions.
no subject
That sounds lovely.
[she takes it in her other hand, but she's a little less certain what to do with the exploding balls. would they explode in her bag, if they touched a certain way? she tries to look like the sort of person who isn't bothered by explosions and smiles.]
It's a lovely party. Have you been well?
no subject
he examines it a moment, satisfied before he tips it towards her with,] You can light yours off this one, if you'd like. I made plenty to go around.
[well, to be fair he was more sparing with the sparklers but he's vaguely aware of miss stone being good to allen, which makes her worthy of sparkler privileges in his book. especially after this week.]
It is, isn't it? In truth I am not one for such affairs, but Palamedes has done an excellent job of it. [fond of that nerd. after a beat he decides to offer,] I have been well. Worried about Allen, I will admit, but it has otherwise been a peaceful enough start. And you, Miss Stone?
no subject
Oh! It's beautiful!
[she glances back at viktor. she had been worried about allen, but more so when he wasn't in contact with her. granted, fears for his safety had been largely interspersed with silly teenage fears that he simply didn't want to see her anymore. but she lets one corner of her smile tug upwards in sympathy.]
Yes, he can't afford to be so reckless. But he's safe now, and he'll be better soon.
[she flicks her eyes back to the sparkler.]
I've been well enough. I'm very glad to be here. It's a lovely spot; I hadn't realized how much I missed fields and trees, shut up in Cellar Door all the time.
[with a...tree. but her tone is light and jesting--this is much more freedom than she'd had before, and she does spend her nights running around the caves and beaches as lady (or flying, as a bird).]
no subject
[but he still worries about it, and there's a hint of that in his tone. ah well.]
I used to live in the Willful Machine so I can relate. Even before that I was more used to the city than anything like this.
[he glances over the fields- gaze is unsettling but peaceful enough around the bunker. speaking of trees though-] Actually, have you seen those blossoming pink trees? There's one on the Farther Shores that's magnificent.
no subject
but she lights up when he mentions the trees.]
Lady Amaterasu's trees! Yes, they're wonderful. I have my own heart tree, but it doesn't cleanse the soil like hers do. It's a weirwood; the Moss King summoned it from my world. They don't have flowers.
[they do have faces. it's visible growing out of her house from the street, she might've explained it to viktor before.]
I think hers are a kind of cherry tree, but they're great magic, so I don't know if the blossoms will fall off and turn to fruit. She grew them with the flowers already on there.
[sansa was not in human form when she witnesses this on the farthest shore.]
no subject
She pretended to be a statue near the first one I saw. [dry but fond. mischief maker.] It does seem to be in a state of perpetual bloom rather than the typical stages of any given fruit tree. A shame, I wonder if fruit from it would have purification properties as well.
[maybe the petals do if edible? he'll have to ask ammy if he can test that. but regardless he is curious-] I've never heard of a heart tree before. Do they have magical properties as well?
no subject
They have faces made by magic, I think. You're not supposed to be able to lie in front of them. No one has ever found a use for the leaves or sap, though.
[in fact weirwood is a useful material that never rots, but sansa very much does not want her tree harvested for it.]
They're very strong and ancient, and hard to kill. They're sacred to the old gods of my world. I don't think they grow outside of Westeros, even there.
no subject
[sometimes a cool tree with a face can just be that.]
And one manages to survive here? That is interesting, given the state of the soil in most of this world. I wonder if it is the magic of this place or it's own properties that let it survive.
no subject
The heart trees have their own magic, but Lady Amaterasu helps mine along when she visits.
[she allows her arm to fall to the side with her burnt sparkler stick.]
The flowers that bloom don't last as long, but I leave a few of them to dry, sometimes.
no subject
[needless to say he is not spiritual enough to see ammy's true form in even a small glimpse.]
no subject
Oh, she is, she's the guardian of her world.
[she is many more things besides, only some of which sansa knows. she's not exactly what amaterasu wants her telling people. she doesn't think that amaterasu would be cross at her for saying too much, but she wants to serve her sworn.........spirit as best as she can.]
I think we've all become something different to what we were, before.
god i am so sorry i lost this notif like a clown
[so. not much experience there. ammy could simply be a very powerful mage for all he understands it.]
no subject
I never knew spirits until I came here--not the kind that walk around and do things, anyway.
[the old gods were comforting but not very much use. she is sure lady amaterasu could set her world to rights.]
My realm only had very ancient magic that nobody knew how to use anymore. You could see it in the heart trees and the Wall, and they say wildfire is made with magic, but there haven't been any great magicians like Bran the Builder or Garth Greenhand for thousands of years.
no subject
[nothing like ammy or even the pthumerians lurking about each month.]
I see, so the art was lost over the centuries? That seems a terrible shame.
no subject
Yes, they say people still do magic across the Narrow Sea, but we never see any of it, and the Maesters all say none of the spells work anymore.

I never heard anyone in the Seven Kingdoms mention anything called the arcane.
[but there's something there, something to do with the children of the forest, who've gone beyond the wall, which is the only place that direwolves can still be found.
none of it is anything a girl from the vale might know. all of it comes from bran, who must remain hidden until she can win back the north. it's not the sort of information that should be floating around, as it could easily be traced back to her. so she won't mention it, for now.]
