[ personally, she thinks that he looks more like kenickie than danny. it suits him. danny's the overly sweet boy while kenickie's the one from the wrong side of the tracks. she thinks that's always been stefan deep down.

katherine studies him intently and makes a show of giving him a slow once-over. leaning back against her hands, she crosses her leg over her knee and jiggles her foot slowly. ]

You look like the one that I want.

[ she smiles. no, you're not allowed to say that was lame. ]

That was lame.

( that was so lame, katherine. he laughs though and slides his fingers through his hair before he smiles. )

Are we ready? Or do you need further primping and preparation?

( does she need to make herself look even better than she does? he doesn't know if she can. )

[ as she presses her lips together in mock thought, she does actually have a thought. her eyes widen and she holds her hand up, finger pointing upwards.

she pushes off the bed with one shoe on her foot. ]

I need lipstick!

[ never mind that she's wearing lipstick right now. it's simply not the right colour.

she disappears into the bathroom. ]

You're wearing lipstick. Katherine, what are you going to do?

( he sighs and heads to the door of the bathroom, standing against it and crossing his arms. )

What's wrong with the lipstick you've got on right now? It looks good. It's a good color.

[ of course, he'd say that. stefan knows nothing about lipstick! ]

It could be a lot darker, don't you think?

[ she opens her drawer of lipsticks and rifles through them noisily. she's not quite sure which one she's looking for, but she'll know it when she sees it. ]

I'm sure it could be but it doesn't need to be. You look fine just like that.

( as soon as she starts pulling out the lipstick, he knows that she's not going to listen to him. he sighs and shakes his head, disappearing back into their bedroom.

he flops onto the bed and feels aleksander jump up beside him and sit down. )

Women, huh? ( aleksander nuzzles at his neck. )

[ quickly, she finds the lipstick she wants. uncapping it noisily, she rolls her eyes. ]

I heard that!

[ she says around her darker shade of lipstick. she doesn't pay it any mind. smacking her lips, she caps it and walks back into the bedroom. leaning against the ensuite's doorframe, she extends her arm above her head to rest her hand against the wood and juts her hip out.

with a smirk, ] How do I look?

( stefan doesn't look up but he says: )

Beautiful.

( and then he laughs before he picks his head up to peer at her. he looks her over and then nods because yes, he was right. )

You look amazing.

[ while she may narrow her eyes, she does so playfully. smiling a little happily, she feigns embarrassment, although some of the blush to her cheeks is very real.

with a wave of her hand, she says playfully, ] Stop it.

[ but keep going, please.

pushing herself off the wall, she comes back to the bed and sits down on the edge. opting for her black heels, she slides them onto her feet. ]

Our shoes will match.

[ black and black. ]

They will.

( he taps his feet a few times while he watches her put her heels on and then moves to stand up. he reaches for her hand and pulls her up with him. )

Are we ready to go or do you have something else you want to change?

You don't have another leather jacket, do you?

[ katherine takes her time in eyeballing him with an upward curve to her lips. and then she breaks out into a smile, scrunching up her face playfully. ]

I'm kidding.

I don't. And if you keep changing yourself and trying to change me, we're not going to make it to where we're trying to go.

( but it seems like she's finished with the primping and preparing and so, he offers her his arm. )

Come on, let's go trick or treating. Or whatever else is going to happen at this thing.

It's like you've never done Halloween before, Stef.

[ she loops her arm with his and gives herself one last look in the closest mirror. she looks pretty good if she says so herself. her hair's in her usual style of thick, curly and long, and she looks very much like katherine pierce dressed up in leather pants. ]

We need to bring a bag for our candy. I think there's one by the front door.

[ she knows there is because she planned it. ]

I've done Halloween stuff before. I've just never done Halloween stuff in this town before. I half expect the candy we get to be filled with blood.

( he hopes that's not the case. he really doesn't want to deal with blood anymore than he has to. )

I haven't had Sweet Tarts in awhile. I could go for those.

( as they get closer to the door, he spots the bag and picks it up. )

I want one of those apple things on the sticks.

[ she holds out her hand as if she's holding one in this very moment. tugging him out the door, she's mindful not to step on his toes. these shoes are a killer. ]

They've always looked fun.

Have you never had one?

( really, that surprises him and he doesn't keep it out of his voice. )

All these centuries of being around Halloween celebrations and you've never had a candy apple? Wow, we're definitely going to have one.

I've had one!

[ katherine puffs out her chest and shakes her head, brows furrowing tightly together. she's the picture-perfect representation of incredulity.

except… she's never had one before. not a single one. ]

I'm just saying… they look like fun here.

[ and just like sandy, she's bad at saving. ]

Okay, okay, it wasn't an accusation. I was just surprised. And greedy that I get to be there for something you've never done before.

( he's pretty sure she hasn't had one ever. he squeezes her hand. )

I think you'll like them but they're messy.

[ he makes such a big deal out of everything! katherine wants to tell him this isn't her first time and she has had a candy apple thingo before... but she knows it's useless. stefan has read between the lines accurately. he knows that she has never had one before.

she's grateful he isn't making a big deal about it.

she smiles up at him, ] It's a good thing I have you here to clean me up, then, isn't it?

Well, I've seen how messy an eater you are.

( she gets his blood all over the place when he let's her drink from him. he chuckles and then leans in closer to kiss her cheek. )

You'll probably need the extra help. One of my boyfriend duties?

[ tilting her head towards him, she smiles and nods. ]

[ one of them also involves opening the front door, too.

she turns around and looks back at the house. aleksander's followed them down the stairs, though he seems to have departed from their path. he sits against the wall and slowly drops to lie on his belly. ]

Do you think we should dress up Aleksander?

[ aleksander who is wearing a little headband with goggly eyes and a yellow and black striped shirt. ]

He's dressed up.

( he has a little headband with googly eyes and a yellow and black striped shirt. that's a costume. )

What else would we dress him up in? We don't have another costume.

[ aleksander the little bee, buzzing around until he's not buzzing at all. it had been cute at the time. ]

He could be Kenickie. You could've gotten him a leather jacket.

[ he'd have made a very cute kenickie. would've given stefan a run for his money as a t-bird. ]

Or a Pink Lady.

He looks fine right now. He's a bee. He's buzzing!

( and that's cute. besides, where would they find a dog sized leather jacket on such short notice? )

I think he's fine as he is. Do you want to bring him with us?

( if not, a bee should be fine. )

[ she purses her lips and regards her little buzzing bee. he looks a little sad as he preses his face into the floor and sighs heavily. ]

You don't think he'd be spooked?

[ if asked, she would claim that she has brought a dog to halloween before. ]
