11 . clockhouse rebuilding!
Who: Those who have offered to help rebuild the Clockhouse, and anyone else who'd like to pitch in!
What: An open mingle log to repair after fires and floods.
When: Throughout September, precise dates not specified.
Where: In Gaze, at the forest's edge.
[ When the weather and chaos dies down, work on the Clockhouse picks up. The building was once an old Deerington mansion, luridly green and eccentric; age faded it into half a ruin, and July's fire did the rest. August's flooding came fast and hard, and now there's very little left to salvage.
The first step has been a damage assessment, with volunteers picking through the structurally unstable ruins, finding singed fiction novels, crisped houseplants, and a weird number of melted grandfather clocks. Demolition goes quickly, while Ozpin stands by and does not even try to control the situation.
Volunteers are needed to design the new structure, carry in materials, and build... and then to decorate and enchant what they've created. The few Sleepers with genuine construction experience provide direction, Ozpin sometimes among them, but things are largely chaotic. A few Sleepers provide snacks and cheerleading.
This is a mingle log. Please feel free to make a toplevel, and comment with your character's contributions below! ]

It was an TV show about a talking horse - never mind, it's not important. But yeah - a split door. That way Shortcake - well, and Rosie and Radar too, really, I guess. Anyway, that way they can see what's going on, but won't be, you know, helping either of us in the kitchen.

[He said with a warm smile. There was a lot he didn't understand about Earth Pop Culture, but any idea that would let the girls and Shortcake have some time with their family was a good one in his opinion.]
If we don't want help, we might want to scrap the chicken door that i see someone slipped in. I love General Henstable, but it's probably not a good idea for her to be starting wars in the pantry!

[There's already enough chaos in the kitchen as it is, adding two horses and a cow is probably a bit much.
Willow looks over the plans and taps a finger on the chicken door. Ruby's handiwork, she suspects.]
Yeah. Yeah, we probably shouldn't be letting the General and the rest of her troops wander in and out either. It's not that they're not sweet - I love them too. But we don't want any mutinies, or wars over eggs or upset stomachs over too much food or anything.

No kidding. I'm too young to be a veteran of Trench's chicken wars.
[He was too young to be a veteran of any war, but that was a discussion for another day. Shortcake snuffled at his hair while he leaned back against the wall and looked up at Willow, at ease with just the normal acts of an old fashioned house raising party.]
I'll just be glad when we're all back together again. It's been weird with everyone split up across town. I miss the weekend breakfasts, and movies together.

I think we're all a little too young to be veterans of Trench's chicken wars. Or, in some cases, too old.
[In other words, there's never a good age for chicken wars.]
Yeah. I miss you guys, too. All the activity, and the chaos and everything.

[He smiled-- bright, confident, innocent.... and unaware of what the future held.]
Keeping Ruby around is almost enough for plenty of craziness. Add Uncle Qrow to the mix and you never quite know exactly what's going to happen. And, Adding Ange to the mix? She likes to act like she's quiet and innocent... but I think she can be as wild as Ruby if she lets her self let loose a little.

She can't help but laugh at Oscar's description of their housemates. It's accurate, of course. He won't find any disagreement with her on any of his assessments.]
When you put it like that, it almost makes me wonder how Ozpin puts up with us all. Except I think he enjoys it too.

He did choose to be a teacher, you know.
[Oscar said, teasing Willow and settling into the comfortable rapport they had shared. They may have come from separate worlds, but they shared an astonishing amount of things in common-- like their knack for finding both stuffy mentors without trying and a good deal of trouble.]
I think he does like all of us around. Our everything is probably comfortable to him.

[Willow grins. Of course Ozpin is used to plenty of chaos. She can imagine Beacon was probably chaotic most of the time.]
I did say almost. It's nice to be part of a busy household. I was home alone a lot in high school - my parents both travelled for work. But then I always lived with other people from college on. So I like a busy household too.

[His smile turned wistful at this.]
As much as I like staying with Uncle Break, it's not the same.

[She might have made the attempt at some point if she had been there longer. She pauses at the reminder that this isn't the first house that she's lived in that's been destroyed. It's not even the first that was destroyed around the same time as her death.]
It's been nice staying with Ford too, but I know what you mean. It's not the same without you guys there, too.
