11 . clockhouse rebuilding!
Who: Those who have offered to help rebuild the Clockhouse, and anyone else who'd like to pitch in!
What: An open mingle log to repair after fires and floods.
When: Throughout September, precise dates not specified.
Where: In Gaze, at the forest's edge.
[ When the weather and chaos dies down, work on the Clockhouse picks up. The building was once an old Deerington mansion, luridly green and eccentric; age faded it into half a ruin, and July's fire did the rest. August's flooding came fast and hard, and now there's very little left to salvage.
The first step has been a damage assessment, with volunteers picking through the structurally unstable ruins, finding singed fiction novels, crisped houseplants, and a weird number of melted grandfather clocks. Demolition goes quickly, while Ozpin stands by and does not even try to control the situation.
Volunteers are needed to design the new structure, carry in materials, and build... and then to decorate and enchant what they've created. The few Sleepers with genuine construction experience provide direction, Ozpin sometimes among them, but things are largely chaotic. A few Sleepers provide snacks and cheerleading.
This is a mingle log. Please feel free to make a toplevel, and comment with your character's contributions below! ]

She tilted her head back, kept the relieved smile on her face, and looked up towards the sky. "Sorry, NP. I gotta say no to the mobile defense house. I know it might be an unpopular opinion." But at least she could keep the tone light, regardless of her own deeper feelings on the core issue.

Oh fine fine fine.
We'll just install rocket launcher tubes on the corners of the roof.
This was definitely not helpful. Not in the slightest. Still, she was winking as she typed it, grinning impishly at her. Deep down, she did know why they didn't include them. Besides, anyone who'd fight this house probably didn't worry about rocket launchers.
By the way, fair warning?
Neeeeever try to break into my apartment, haha.

"No sense in not being prepared for the worst, I guess, but I think you could probably take on all comers head-on." And yet, she could tell there was more to it. She tilted her head a little forward, tried to ignore that she was having problems sitting still, and continued. "I mean, I've seen you fight. I still think you could've given that, uh, Intoner version of myself a real run for her money last January."

Emerald isn't here so I don't usually have guests over that often, so I keep it booby trapped.
It's not quite as bad as it was back in the nightmare though.
Didn't have any explosive dust.
She definitely appreciated the vote of confidence. She winked at the intoner comment, smirking at her even though part of her was pretty sure that that version of Anna would have won out for one of a few reasons. Still, she liked to think she'd have done a good job at the very least.
But, yeah. Since it was usually just her (And Sayo wasn't crashing at her place anymore) she left booby traps on every entrance, so ... not a good place to break into. It was like Kevin McAllister on steroids in her place.
Don't give me way too much credit.
Upside is I can go toe to toe with a lot of folks stronger than me.
But if there's enough power, my tricks are better at getting out of dodge.

"That's gotta be the reason you've made it this far. You must be good at gambling." Another joke for her. "But like, hey. I know you wanna help out and everything, but promise me you're gonna head home and get some rest after all this, okay?" And she seemed legitimately concerned about things once again, as though that was something hard for her to manage. "We've all been through a lot. Remember to be good to yourself, too."
no subject
I will, promise.
And my secret is that I'm really good at cheating and not getting caught.
That and always knowing when the deck's stacked against me from the start.
Gotta know when to run, yep.

And hopefully there wouldn't be much more hell on the horizon, but that was the thing, wasn't it? Trench, uh, finds a way. "You feeling up for getting back to work on the house, or is there anything else you wanna catch each other up on, NP?"
no subject
Yeah. This foundation's not going to lay itself after all.

"Be good out there, NP. But not too good."
