Always give without remembering
Who: Simidele, Saeri, and YOU
What: Simidele thinks he has a flawless plan to help Saeri make friends and it involves gifting runestones and/or crystals to anyone he meets! That means you, and you, and yes, even you! When she remembers to look for them he's going to be in so much trouble...
When: Last week of September
Where: All over Trench
Content Warnings: Memory issues, possible language, overeager dumbass omen shenanigans
[It had all be so unfair. He'd had plans. Saeri never celebrates her birthday and he'd had just the plan to turn that around! Only for them to even forget she had a birthday for WEEKS. And by the time she remembered--and he remembered with her--it was days later and the moment for his perfect birthday surprise had passed. He couldn't reclaim it again. How was he supposed to get Saeri more friends when she kept avoiding spending time with new people? How was he supposed to show people what she brought to the friendship table?
Then Saeri had bumped into one of her dangling bowls of runestones and knocked one out of the bowl to the ground, a cooling stone that immediately caused ice to crackle across the floor. The air around it was so cold it fogged, but the reaction was brief before the power in it faded. While Saeri grumbled and cursed, hiphopping around to avoid stepping on it before she picked it up, the inspiration struck him. The answer to their problem was right there.
Unfortunately, he had to wait...and wait. For all of two days. TWO WHOLE DAYS. For Saeri to be busy enough to not notice the noise he made getting one of the baskets down. It was filled with stones and crystals with single use runes on them. Saeri used them in her experiments as one time additives, but surely other people would find them useful?
And so he struck out. Whether slinking casually down the streets of Wilfull Machine, or flying over to one of the other districts, the strapped of the bowl tight in his teeth. If he saw someone he thought might be a good friend, he would approach them immediately, earnest and proud.]
You look like you could use some magic! My friend is giving these away, do you want one?
[Please listen to him and accept his gift! No, he doesn't know what exactly each stone done--he would if he bothered to look at them, but who has the time to look at all the runes when he was on a mission?--but they were single use. They couldn't be that dangerous, certainly. But he knew he had to get rid of all of them before Saeri realized what he did and came looking.
So he had probably an hour. Plenty of time.]
{OOC: None of these runestones or crystals are particularly powerful. They are single-use runes powered by different blood types and other magical properties. The power in them will only last for a very short while once activated or in one burst of energy. Just be careful about grabbing that lightning stone, oops. Saeri is going to be hunting Simidele down and all of the people he gave stones and crystals to.}

[One of his hands - not the one holding the rock - bursts into blue flame!]
no subject
[Blue fire is quite beautiful in his opinion and he looks excited at prospect of what could happen, what reaction could occur from the runes mixing with that type of energy. He thinks the runestone the gentleman picked up was an "ice" stone, so it could also have an amazing result, right?]
no subject
Okay.
[LET'S SEE WHAT HAPPENS]
no subject
Simidele looks surprised but also amazed. Wow.]
An instant fog maker!
[A little more than that but also..uh-oh. Saeri is so close he can feel her anger crawling up his back like someone just set fire to him. Oops.]
I know you are somewhere around--
[Oh look there she is, coming around the corner right into the fog.]
--what the hell?

no subject
You made a fog machine?
[Simidele maybe is trying to make his way around right behind the man so he is in between Saeri and her target.]
Yes! Did you see how wonderfully that worked. I was just showing him what you could do if he ever needed some assistance. Just as planned.

[Michael holds up the rock, watching the cat slink back from the corner of his eye. He knows the look of someone caught out when he sees it - clearly, there's more to the story here.]
no subject
[She says it offhandedly because of course she has to correct him, but Simidele has even tucked his large wings into his body to make himself seem smaller. Oh, he knows she is not pleased.]
And if you used too much energy, it could have turned you into a popsicle.
[Oh. Simidele didn't realize it could do that...but, well it didn't.]
But he seemed interested in knowing how they work! You could tell him about it!
[Sorry if he's talking about you like you're not standing right there.]
no subject
[That's mildly interesting, and also yeah he's just gonna completely ignore the rudeness right now!]
no subject
[She is a bit jarred at first that someone would see ice and think "yeah let's add fire!" but then not surprised at all because she probably would have thought of the same thing.]
Guess that explains all the fog. Good thing the ice didn't shattered into projectile shards, but a fog...a lot more convenient. The stones aren't really for mixed with each other. Usually.
no subject
[It's funny, how easily he can say that these days after having kept even the slightest hint of his natural form under wraps for so long...but it's true, he uses it a lot lately.]
Didn't want to bleed on it, anyway. You know, you should think about including instructions with those things. Or a description of what each one does.
no subject
[The way she says it is with a hint of deadpan annoyance because Simidele should have known better than to take a whole basket of her stones to what...give away? It's like she never understands what is going on in his head--or maybe too much because it's not like he hides it. For being so smart, her omen is also a huge idiot.]
Sorry he pulled you into whatever game he's playing. I'll let you keep the stone if you want. It can't do anything now, but I can recharge it for you if you want.
[Simidele just seems happy that they are talking to each other, even if he can tell he's going to be in a lot of trouble. He's lucky she hasn't called him back inside of her. He paws the ground near Michael, pleased.]
no subject
[Michael doesn't really need an ice rock - fog rock? - but again! Free stuff! He'll hand it over, casting a glance from the corner of his eye towards the basket of rocks.]
Why do you make so many, if you don't trade them or anything?
no subject
Saeri gives him a quick look because she doesn't want him to start anything. Again.]
I use these in my work. That's why they aren't too powerful. It's like having a drawer full of batteries to swap out when you need them.
[She takes the stone and pulls out a pen-brush, already filled with some darkblood ink, and shakes it to get the ink flowing. Then she and runs it over the runes, refilling the magic. There's a soft sound of a crackle as the icy effect settles into the rune again.]
Here.
no subject
[Michael's a darkblood himself, so he recognizes that ink! He looks down at his hand, flexing it thoughtfully; like he said, he's never really used his own blood for much of anything before.]
What is it you do?
no subject
The runes are a magical spell and reinking them just restores the magic so it will work a second time. They aren't meant for multiple re-uses though. That's why I make so many. Don't have to use as much magic if they aren't meant to last.
no subject
[He didn't mean the stone at all, he's got that.]

I work at Ursula's, I build golems, I make custom protective gear, whatever I want.
no subject
[It's a very common phrase!]
Golems?
no subject
[It's pretty rhetorical because she understands now. She's technically an adult, but wow does he sound old when he says it like that.]
Golems are like puppet guardians or magical robots. They can be made from any material and you give them a job to do or something to learn. A duty. They fulfill that duty. Not that complicated.
[Making them is a different story.]
no subject
[He doesn't interact with young kids all that much!]
That's fun. They don't end up being people?
no subject
[That is said a bit more seriously than her previous words. Because she maybe accidentally did that herself once already. And very much regretted it.]
Giving something life though isn't as easy and writing a code and plugging it in.

You give automatons sentience in your world?

[He's glad it happened that way, but he'd sure never intended it!]
